It's in Blackburn mate.

Ok you had me looking for a Dodge Blackburn! I think I have caught up with the program now.

Do you have a front Photo you can show and on past form the car not you or your dog!

Pffft - amateur!  My mate Rob fits a double bass in his Dyane.

Just... 😬

Nope - completely inside (calm yourself, @High Jetter😄)

Very definitely a one-seater, though.

  • Double bass
  • 3-ft metal stool (non-folding)
  • 2x saxophones, in hard cases
  • Music stands/ manuscript bag
  • Adult passenger

And the car...

A Mk1 Yaris.

In all seriousness, when MrsDC was choosing her first (new) car in 2005, the ability to fit in all of the above in was the key criteria. Bit of a squeeze, like, but it all fitted into the Yaris. Still does.

I'm still not sure the extent to which my Cortina estate was a factor in her agreeing to go out with me...

It's a mate of a mate. He's only in his late 20s. He's got an Aston Martin vantage as a daily lol. He breaks bmws for a living.

The 480 is road legal! The Central Electronics Module I was sent by somebody in the owners club has done the trick and I now have functioning indicators, electric windows and central locking. Just got back from a 40 mile loop of some of my favourite local driving roads and I'm absolutely smitten - it's a little cracker!

The white mark with the red line shows how much I turned the distributor. Car idle speed is better and started on the button. No telling if the good starting was if the car felt like it or not, so I've no idea if I've actually fixed anything.

There's a way you can get a double bass in any car, head in passenger foot well, seat wound back, seat belted in thus.

Apart from a Porsche 924 though!

The Mondeo, and the Passat for that matter, swallows it all with room for more and three adult passengers.

No, you should have got a van and then you could have had the pianist playing while you drove along!:D

I have done this when my brother and I moved his wife's piano from her mother's house to theirs in the back of a Transit minibus with some of the seats taken out. He asked if I could play "Over the hills and far away" the further, the better.

Despite my reservations about the seller offering us £250 off the initial asking price, I made a purchase.

Wife & Stepdaughter now have wheels. Originally up for £1350 reduced it twice and we got him down to £750. Not much provenance but it goes straight & true, no bangs, squeaks or rattles, no horrid noises from the engine and it doesn’t smoke much. Came with half a tank of diesel as well. Bit of a stale fag-ash smell inside so we’re getting valeted.

A collection caper is also planned for tomorrow.

A roffle may be happening this week, especially if I win a red ovlov convertible this evening.

I think I'll go and see what's what, providing the tickets are affordable.
