UltraWomble Posted October 16, 2017 Author Posted October 16, 2017 I Know ex Spitting Image voice master & hologram Chris Barrie likes old stuff - I think we can forgive his Sherpa Coupe as he owns and drives a Jaaaaaaaag XJ6 eddyramrod 1
cobblers Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Claudia Winkleman still drives the 1.4 Golf she got for her 30th birthday, which wasn't yesterday.I didn't think they made a 1.4 mk1 swallowtail NorfolkNWeigh, Mr_Bo11ox, Lacquer Peel and 10 others 13
NorfolkNWeigh Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Jacob Rees Mogg , in addition to a Derby Bentley and an immaculate T1 that he's owned since his 20's, he drives a ' rather old and battered Lexus' every day. I'd like to think it's just like Mason, but could of course be a 6 month old Hybrid, who knows what the multi millionaire Dickensian Toff considers old and battered. stripped fred and Squire_Dawson 2

mercrocker Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 He is sadly departed for some while now, but I remember Patrick Moore owned an upright Prefect for some 50 plus years as well as a Triumph 2000 which I think remained his everyday motor for the rest of his life. Also seem to recall reading that Paul Merton owned a Montego Countryman long after they were "normal" family cars. cms206, Fabergé Greggs and Squire_Dawson 3

mercrocker Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Sir Winston Churchill is famous (at least to banger-boys) for his Farina Morris Oxford but the last vehicle bought on his behalf was actually a Hillman Husky. A bloody Hillman Husky! Even the village Plod round our way moaned to my Dad about getting one of those as an area car in 1966 instead of another noddy bike.

Yoss Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 My brain tells me Queen Mum had an Austin 3-Litre. This may not be true but my brain thinks it is. I think an ex-3-Litre owning friend of mine told me.

Captain Furious Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I saw an Austin 3 litre on the M6 a couple of months back, had never heard of it before so I googled it when I got to work, turned out the very same car has its own website. http://www.austinthreelitre.co.uk/ treehugger 1

Didn't Churchie have a coach built VDP 3 litre 2 door?
mercrocker Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 There has been talk of such a thing but never found any evidence other than anecdotal tales of it being destroyed on the oval. Probably somebody shifted a b post and made up a wider pair of doors to wind up the car clubs. His standard Oxford was widely documented, however....
Angrydicky Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Boris Johnson is the obvious choice here. He drives a Y reg Focus and a battered, M reg Toyota Previa. ProgRocker 1

Justin Case Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Not quite shite in absolute terms, but Warren Buffet, possibly the world's richest man, drives a three year old Cadillac XTS, having part-exed a 2006 Caddy for it. Relatively, it is marginally cheaper than a Volvo S90, which of course is now beginiing to show up on the AS radar http://money.cnn.com/2014/07/15/autos/warren-buffett-cadillac-xts/?iid=EL
sheffcortinacentre Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 June brown (dot cotton ) has/had a 100e, Jon colshaw has a mk3 cortina & mk1 Granada.
Bobthebeard Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I believe that the Queen has a fleet of Rover 75's tucked away as an investment. She drives a tidy V6 around Balmoral apparently. These cars can only appreciate surely. Ahem. UltraWomble, privatewire and eddyramrod 3
Felly Magic Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I think US Ventrillioltwat Jeff 'Achmed' Dunham has a pair of AMC Gremlins in his vast fleet, and Mr Regular of RCR wants a Pugrat 206 and his daily is now a mk1 MR2 which replaced Sillicone Sally, his heavily sealed up Honda Fit (Jazz)
Ghosty Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Don't RCR have an undisclosed camera car? The MR2 is Mr R's personal car.
