Suns out, guns out. Only by sun, I mean this exhaust clamp. And by out, I mean on.

The middle section and back box are patern and they dont meet like they should. Ive clamped it ub as best I could but its still blowing obviously. Seems secure though, so Im calling it a small win.

The tyres were old and cracked but some almost new Khumos popped up on the old interwebs in the right size on the right rims.

Much safety added.

I've never managed to get one of those exhaust joints to seal without plastering loads of that halfords own brand fibre reinforced exhaust putty all over both sides before clamping it up. Infact looking at it, you're missing something - there should be a fibre washer in the middle that gets crushed when you tighten the clamp and stops some of the leak.

As the Puglet is from the 1990s, I decided to add a period correct performance enhancement.

The hubcaps are just off as I intend to renip the nuts after a few miles before refitting. They have NOT been thrown in a bin or roller painted green.

No washer or seal between the rear and centre exhaust on those just a shitty misaligned joint with every pattern exhaust I've ever seen

Your dog is probably faster than your car.

Shes faster than most cars in the 1st 30 foot.

True* story. The reason they got called 'The graduate' is because most of them got fucked by old women.

Just caught up, that sticker is full of win! Even if it's a lying cunt

I think I first fell in love with _06 Peugeots because of that cute downward curve at each end of the sills. ^^ Gorgeous.

all that sun and the sunroof is still in the hole- get it out man and behold in a new world of buffeting

No, don't bother, sunroofs are the Devil's work. If this one doesn't seal properly don't have the lever in the fully closed position, swing it back down until it's just "over centre", that usually did the trick in the green Escapade.

I agree. My rule is never open a sunroof if it doesnt currently leak. This one doesnt currently leak.

Posted

I was enjoying the sunroof in the little 19 this morning. It better not start leaking.

Glad it's fixed now though, I do have a lot of love for 106 Diesels.

Shakedoon run today. 120 miles round trip up through Northumberland and back down to the Tyne.

Car performed grand. Exhaust still fully afixed and I nipped the wheel nuts up north of the Tyne and refitted the wheel trims.

Impressions after an hours drive each way is that its not the most comfortable mile muncher, but thats hardly breaking news. It keeps up with the moderns well enough and I even overtook some people on the straights. I can say without doubt that its flat out top speed is 77mph on the flat with a slight headwind. Stirring the pot round the windys was fun. Gear linkages are a touch sloppy but TADTS.

Oh and the voltmeter got sick of telling lies and gave up completely outside of Haydon Bridge.

Thankfully I no longer require its constant reassurance.
