its way past 210000 now but the Battery and Alternator are dead so you'll have to wait for a picture 😂

TX2 taxi. Probably an unreliable figure, and not record breaking in itself. But what about the trip figure?

Highest miler I’ve run was a Merc E200 wagon (W124) sold on with about 225k. My last Volvo (945) had nearly 200k. My current Lexus is a mere stripling of 125k.

Nearly there! Thinking about it, I should have reset the trip counter when I took this. Oh well, too late now.

Works out as 19k a year from new. Was a lot higher than that originally but slowed down when we had it from my parents a few years back now.

When I put this through an MOT it's going to show up as quite a spike on the mileage history.

It had previously only done a few thousand a year.  I've put over 25k on it in a year.  2k in the last 2 weeks.

There’s a guy on PH - lovely fella - with an E300d with over 400k on the wheels. He uses it properly and looks after it even better.

It's the 180,000 Mile Maestro (tm)! Well, it nearly is.  Respectable enough, all things considered.

My w124 coupe ticked over 129500 this weekend

Only 148k on my ML270 CDI. Works pretty well but could do with a bit of suspension to stay fresh. Biggest problem is squeaky brakes

It's unlike me to have a car with working air conditioning, but the climate control in that is belting

Further to the above 220022, managed to get the trip set at just the right point to achieve:

20201203_090052.thumb.jpg.735e876e9fb1c571fde528b697141416.jpg

which was a couple of thousand ago now.  Next one will hopefully be 234567, which at the rate I'm putting miles on this will be in a couple* of days time.

Points deducted for not timing the moment for 22 minutes past 10 in the evening :-( Or holding an ice cube on the temperature sensor until it read 2.2°C.

I did consider both of these options.  However, the temperature sensor only jumps in blocks of 0.5°c, so it would have had to be 2.0°c or 2.5°c, neither of which would have worked properly.

I also thought about getting 232323 and 232.3 at 23:23, but completely missed that while doing a 480 mile jaunt up north.  By the time I realised, I was about 150 miles over.

Yea I always miss a few that I'd like to get or end up driving round Northampton Services carpark 6 times to get the significant ones.😄

No where near as high as some but I'm happy with over 170,000 (60,000 by me) from a £235 Fiat.

Seeing as my trusty Avensis ticked over 200,000 miles today - let's see some current and past 'High Milers'.

We could get a limited run of badges/stickers done too if there's any interest? Bronze for 200k, Silver for 300k and Gold for the big Five Oh Oh.

I knew the A4 was getting close to the magic number, so I asked Mrs SiC the other day what the mileage was. NFI and why was the response. Because we're close to rolling over 200k! I'm sad apparently...

Hadn't checked it until earlier and it said this:

PXL_20210307_195725226.thumb.jpg.ea1d90fd7919bc23de74e123dc9cd617.jpg

Oof! And she's going to work tomorrow in it too.

I'm sure you'll agreed that this is an essential journey. Also the battery needed a charge from sitting 😉

Plotted my journey carefully to not under or overshoot the target. Just under a mile from home:

PXL_20210307_200958611.thumb.jpg.7d9357ad0af89fd2da7958b675e6a7fd.jpg

I reset the trip counter when the mileage rolled over to ensure I didn't mess this up. So after a quick detour to roll the mileage up a tad more...

🎉

I made so sure I got the shot properly, I took a few photos... 😁

So there we have it. Just over 10 and half year old VAG diesel that's been in the family for 10 years and around 195k miles. It's had to have a both front wheel bearings, a gearbox bearing, clutch+flywheel, thermostat and fuel pressure regulator valve changed. Plus countless tyres, pads+discs, filters and about a hundred litres of engine oil. Everything else is original and untouched.

Still looks modern and smart. Obligatory blinding VAG follow me home lights.

Certainly not high mileage - more an illustration of my inner schoolkid - one with a Casio calculator in the eighties

If anyone manages to get a car to show 5318008 then they will be an absolute hero.  I don't think even silly-mile trucks get that high do they?  Has any vehicle ever done five million miles?

Many cars digital speedos peg themselves at a maximum. Usually 999999.

Final update for the Zafira - its sadly ended its run.

Not the cars fault, other drivers not concentrating.

Minding my own business on the motorway, then bang straight into the central crash barrier after being hit by a wayward Passat. Cat B right off, offered fuck all by insurers due to mileage, although they reckon they did me a favour as they valued it at 200k miles as thats all there system goes up to!

Gutted really as it was running sweet as a nut, had been serviced 5 days before the accident and the front tyres where less than a week old. I also never got past my personal best of 390k - not the ending the old faithful girl deserved.
