Nice wood* and utterly baffling that it has parking sensors.

Very nice. Heated front screen too eh. That would have been handy for mine when the heater started blowing cold last night.

That looks a bargain actually, the cosmetics don't look like too much of a pain to sort.  Impressed that it has parking sensors on the back and the front - did the seller own a labrador and a white stick?

Every element working on the rear screen too, always something I watch out for. Makes little difference to everyday use, but just suggests a car that's been looked-after.

Salubrious location too.

Make sure you turn up in something extra shite.

Well boughted.

I don't think a single one of my cars has a fully working heated rear screen...

Drove the arse out of a mates sad eye 1.25 Ghia in a previous life. As we were yoof back then it had tights stretched over the back lights and a K&N cone filter and made a great noise.

Felt like a well put together machine for an economy box. Loved to rev his got passed around locally for a bit then the tin worm had the rear arches and fuel filler are and it ended up in Seaton Station scrapyard near Uppingham. My friend Dave G has the steel wheels from it on the back of his Cortina MK2 at the moment.

I had a 3 door one of these in 1300 OHV flavour and just hated it. Drove really well, economical, reliable. I just didn't like it though. They seem to be in the Puma/KA league for corrosion.

Just been and picked this up. Sorry I'm using the sellers pics as its flippin dark!!!!

Verdict is, unexcitingly, that its as you would expect a £300 fiesta to be. On the updise it seems to drive spot on and has a lot more vim than Mrs Crabs 54-plate Fiesta 1.4. No horrible clonks or grinds and it zips along very nicely! ON the downside, the EML is on, and the wooden-fronted CD player doesnt seem to work, it just says '97.9 FM' on the screen and none of the buttons elicit any response so i cant even put a code in. Does that mean its jiggered? Also the rear wiper doesnt seem to work. And the arse end feels a bit floaty, I wonder if the shockers are a bit tired or something.

However it seems like its capable of running me back and forth to work for a while till my back cries 'enough' (the seats have approximately 0 lower back support). I struggle to imagine myself spending a lot of time migging new rear arches into it but who knows, I might take a shine to it after a few hundred miles. I can certainly see the appeal of it though and kind of wish I had spent a bit more like £600 for a really nice one!!!! I will rustle up some decent pics when i get a chance.

Nice one, looks pretty tidy.  The rear wiper often stops working, either a bad earth to the bootlid/through the hinges or the motor is seized solid as water can accumulate in them.  Possibly both.

Looks smart enough, these were a good facelift as the original Mk4 was never the prettiest thing.  My sister had one a few years back which put up with tremendous abuse and neglect before lunching a valve on the motorway having spent the last few weeks consuming many litres of oil - a lack of oil topups and incorrect/non-existent servicing was probably the root cause of that.  Rust was getting the better of it by then too but it still drove quite well.

I think these are the last proper Ford Fiesta. Simple, small, great handling and cheap new (& almost certainly kill you in a medium accident). There after they progressively got bigger, fatter, floppier and stuff more toys in.

I do remember mates sad face 1.25 was surprisingly tight under the bonnet for working space.

I know rear axle bushes on the KA's are a common failure I imagine these are the same. That might explain your loose back end.  They're a bit of a bastard to change apparently the last one I saw had them cut open with a 1mm disc, bushes changed then welded closed!

Ninety Seven to Ninety Nine FM ... Radio ... ONE!

It's a Ford Fiesta, what else would it ever need to tune too? ;)

Very nice* the first mate in our group of mates to pass his test had an s plate one of these! My most abiding memory of it was he didn't go over 60, proper nervous driver. That was fun going from Marlow to deepest bum shittiest Devon on holiday once. Luckily 2 of us (not him) did hardcore drugs so mdma lightened the mood for us on the m5.

It never actually shit itself though. He put a clutch in it but it was on high miles at the time. Had it for years before his dad gave him his old primera, at about the time I were came a recluse and binned off all my good and bad friends

Well done Mr B - i'm sure you will work your magic. Rear axle as stated is more than likely the rear bushes.

A mate of mine has just bought one of these as spares for his other runner. Not seen it and dont know much about but if you need owt let me know. I'm often out Winsford/Nantwich area which I think is your neck of the woods so happy to help if I can.

We had a later one & the radio refused to speak to any of the buttons. Several soakings in contact cleaner got some life back into it.

Ah its Wikipedia lies. Saying that, given the amount of similarities it really should be mk4.5.
