Word up, all.

Drew's the name - from Oldham, living in France.

Shite'ing it about in a '92 Pug 106, with an '82 SWB Land-Rover as my work weapon.

Picked up some Itali-shite last year, in the form of a Fiat Doblo people carrier Popemobile thing. Just needs a couple of minir jobs for roadworthiness.

Also got a project Land-Rover '79 109" Stage One V8, which should be done by now...but isn't.

So you left one area renowned for casual racism, and moved to another less Xenophobic nation ?  I like France. I've been to Oldham.

Bonsoir Monsieur Drew!

Ici we have un member qui aussi lives en France, he s'appelle Dave7364 ou something comme that.

Moi aussi I also used to live en France, more though in the South pred de Carcassonne/Bezier/Monpelier.

I miss it there. Loads of old cars. I miss it there.

Mot en haut à toi aussi, mec.

I'm just coming to the end of a long Series 2a 109 (2.25 petrol) rebuild, I can fully understand why yours isn't done yet...

Yo Ding, I don't live I France anymore sadly but I'm happy to help if you need any advice. I used to live closer to Beziers than Carcassonne but Carcassonne was often visited by me. I now live North Worcestershire, formerly living in Birmingham.

That's strange - everybody I knew growing up calls me Ding, even the wife. Anyway - we've found a place about 10mins out of the city, out past the airport and into the grape vine fields. Lovely quiet spot. We're told it all goes through and completes at the end of March so we're heading out over there for a few weeks in April to start the DIY.... but don't really know where to start(!) No tools or supplies, needs white goods, plasterboard, glass all that kind of shyte. Hadn't really though about the logistics until now really.... Any hints tips or advice massively appreciated mate. It's only going to be a holiday home - same as you we're Brummies really.

Lol, given half the chance I'd happily return there, but jobs are scarce and my company got bought out which meant I couldn't return, was a real crush for me at the time, but I love where I am now, very serene compared to Birmingham.

DIY stores in France tend to be found in the form of Brico Dépôt, Carrefour or Maison du Monde, the centre of Carcassonne is quite spread out from what I remember but it is very well stocked shops-wise. Can't remember the stores I used in Beziers which was mostly for work (I worked for a British holiday firm at thier base in Beziers) But good luck with your holiday home, I wouldn't blame you for making it your permanent home.

You'd happily return to anywhere you aren't right now.

Lol, I'm happy where I am right now. I disliked living in Birmingham before but I have moved now to a much nicer place.

Bonjour. En big response to ze questions veritable concernant mon whereabouts, je suis in une village really pretty s'appelle Aunac (I've done the really clever thing of incorporating my postcode into my username).

When 'opp norf' in that Oldham, I lived in a few neighbourhoods dodging riots, etc.

I've got a nice Shite-yard here, which I'll get some photographications up of. I'm also awash with Shite in the general negion, with French grass-roots highway culture seeming to be one geared towards keeping the most hazardous weapons en circulation.

Vive la Shite!

Does that mean we could now have some central type of distribution centre for old French shite?
