Baillieston. Sun, sea, sand, it's got it all. Including that brand new phone I left in a taxi in 2015.

Good luck with the collection, got to be a new high score for pre collection PC

What worries me most is the PC is rising and he is walking along the street. Lad must have trousers on with elasticated ankles 😜

Still no insurance, cant collect until it comes through....

Can confirm all poos have been dispatched in the correct manner.

For those that really need to know, PC has remained at 3

Stay tuned for more

I’ve always thought the same with any kind of Land Rover

If it isn't a London Taxi, posting the map with the destination at London Taxis Direct Ltd is a cruel, cruel trick and I might go and sulk in the corner.

No sulking required dude. Full on TX4, from the heydays of Coventry build quality* before the chinese took over

You know when you’d “forget” your PE kit at school in an attempt to dodge the 5 mile run in the sleet, and the PE teacher directs you to the lost property box… just saying.

The story is that its my new place of work. Its how I will earn a living. Previously was working part time nights on a ProCab Ford Transit taxi, but night trade has nosedived so moved on to working days on the TX. Im sure ive had mobility scooters in the back of previous TX's that ive driven, albeit the smaller versions of them. Some of the scooters now are feckin huge. These are pretty compact in the rear compartment, so room for one small scooter only

Been out and drove around for a bit tonight just to get used to it. First impressions are good. It has the agricultural feel to it that I remember from when I last drove one in 2013. That was a 2011 cab which had covered around 100k miles, this one I picked up today is a 2008 cab which has 400k+ on it. There is very little difference in feel between cabs, i expected this one to feel loose and worn but it just doesnt.

The rear passenger compartment is like the day it left the factory. Its clearly had a full refurb recently as the seats, floor and trim are all in unworn condition. Bump seats dont sag, the springs are nice and tight.

Drivers seat has lost a fair amount of padding, but thats an easy enough job to tackle.

Havent really seen it in daylight, so tomorrow I will have a good look over it and post up some more detailed pics. Will flip the ramp down and photograph it for @LightBulbFun

Those gutties are good Jordans, to the original design. My son had a pair and once he'd grown out of them he cleaned them back up and displayed them beside his other basketball stuff.

Did not expect the Taxi!

Ha, the jordans were a small clue. They colourway is called Taxi, the colours are styled on the new york taxi. I wear them any time im out in the cab, and they attract a lot of nice comments from customers. Bit of colour on a dull day is always welcomed. The cab is a bit of an oddball collecrion, but i knew it would go down well here

sorry to hear about the loss of what im guessing was your preferred work?, I hope the TX4 and dayshifts serve you well nonetheless :)

did you specifically seek out an LTI TX or was this more a case of an emergency purchase to get a plated cab ASAP?

where is the milage data stored on these cabs is it in some sort of body/chassis mounted ECU or is it stored in the instrument binnacle itself? so if you have to change the gauges your milage changes too?

I mean what makes ya think it has had a haircut so to speak? genuinely curious, most of the fresh out of London service TX4's I have been looking at on ebay have been in the 200K-300K milage range, so ya got me wondering how many of those are genuine or not LOL

Hey theres no loss here. I was doing nights on my fathers cab when he wasnt working. Cost me nothing, but i felt that while it was quiet in January that i was maybe taking hours on his cab that he could be working. Id rather work days anyway so it was a no brainer.

This cab is showing something like 289k on the clock. Its on the pic i pisted earlier. However, it came with a full service history, and it has been serviced every 10k since new. It was owned by first owner up until 2020. Service book is stamped until then. Last mileage entered in book was in 2019 at 370k. It had 2 further services stamped in the book stating mileage not shown, so I think the dash display went down. The mileage would have been held in the clocks on this age of cab, so when the next owner took it on, the clocks would have been changed for 2nd hand ones. So, in 2020, the mileage would have been around 390k. Fast forward to now and its possibly around 450k. That allows for lockdown, and the fact the guy previous to me just worked locally. He was semi retired

ETA...i didnt specifically set out for a TX, quite the opposite. I much prefer the comfort of the newer van conversions. I swore i would never drive a TX again. But if you look at the post showing where it was in relation to where i live, it became a no brainer. Our low emission zone comes into force on 1st June 2024, so this cabs days are numbered. I will be its last custodian unfortunately

Early TX4 cluster. The later ones had LCD readouts for levels and temp.

I had to leave the trainers at home and wear my Timberlands when driving my last TX.
