Not sure I'd posted this one here before, or at least not this pic, not that it's going to make a come back.

ha yes, should add my pic is taken on 'real film' and was trying to take a shot that could have been 1993.

A low mileage LX but with GLX trims?

@beko1987 - thanks very much. That's on @greengartsidelist as a possible survivor, but not formally identified. When you kindly did the data trawl it has not changed hands in 12 years, or MOT'd in 14. Maybe a tough save.

So on my travels today, a genuine bran find

2.0 Ghia, full history, electric shocks the lot. Every option ticked. Been on that ramp since 2018. Having a new strut fitted.

Provisionally mine now

That is fit! Those seats look like they'd swallow you up 🤗

Hopefully being dry stored has helped?

Hope it becomes 'definitely yours' soon, those options make it an insanely rare set of K-reg stuff.

A few early ones from the Facebook banger pages, first two are 1993 and last one is June 1994. L47OVF has been untaxed since 2008 and last MoT ran out 2012, doesn't look too bad for something that's sat that long. Crazy to think of these being a 30 year old car!

Already shaken hands on it and he's proper old school so as far as he's concerned it's a done deal.

I'm getting crazy quotes off shiply of £500 to get it back to Bristol so think I'll get him to drop it off at a local garage once the struts back on and I'll have them get it roadworthy and mot'd Then it's a train ride to carmarthen and he can pick me up from there and I'll drive it back.

It's an odd shade of grey which according to the number on the vin plate is Levante Grey Mica Metallic

No kidding! Including the top-notch "2008" head unit and 2050 CD Autochanger.  Is there a sub in the boot? You've got the "Mondeo Gold" audio package if there is.

What a lovely machine.

Surely electric shocks make it a rare mondeo of any reg/mk? And the leather, bar when it became boring and fake around the (mk3 era) and everywhere where it would have been super rare on the earlier ones?

Wow mazerati named an American suv thing after that colour! Hoovies garage featured one.

Good luck, hopefully it's fixable and driveable. That's going to be bloody gorgeous to drive back! I'd stock up on leather cleaner and leather feed now...

Hopefully someone can get on Ford Etis (now Ford Service Resources) still and bring up the full spec sheet.

You're a sales rep, it's 1993, you've just been handed the keys to your new Ford Mondeo. First thing you do is pop a bit of the old Dire Straits on for your first trip up the M1...

There's always ying and yang on this thread though, so with the imminent 'grate save' above, we also are losing another 1.6 - K593 LAH being parted-out

Check out the fails on the last test though it was ‘fucking fucked’. There’s always going to be attrition, keep the good ones going and sack off all the marginal and crap ones to keep the better ones going like the one Steve above bought.

The problem is everyone will say what a shame one gets raced but then nobody comes up with the money to buy it and do something with it. Taking all the useable bits off it and racing it is the only real answer at this stage, it’s reached the end of its life so it’s time to make use of the parts on it that are any good.

It’s the adaptive damping IIRC, probably long since defunct once it came round for new shockers.

@egg you know of this one?

I appreciate the pics, as I have driven past it quite a few times, but it's hard to stop there . 'The Manston Mondeo' doesn't seem to move much...
