Autoshite confessional booth

As bobthebeard admitted he had a sleepless night before he owned up to making a yank cop car and feeling much the same about my recent purchase, I thought we should have somewhere we can confess our shite related sins and seek absolution from our fellow shiters.... So I will start...

Forgive me father for I have sinned.....

I bought a PT Cruiser and I like it.... I like how it looks and I like how it goes... there I have said it.

I regularly scrap cars that have very little wrong with them but just ain't worth the time to fix !

I got caught by a mate who is a panel beater/sprayer by trade. I was kneeling down generously applying wob to the rotten footwell of my 1985 derv Astra estate (which I didn't manage to get through the MOT in the end due to horrendous emissions, despite the Italian tune up on the way to the test.)

I've never forgiven myself for being caught.

I quite like vauxhall vectras and also growing fond of the escrot van. I know,I'm sick

I give up far too easily.  Bobthebeard is clear evidence!

I scrapped my first 2CV, because there was a bit of rot in the C posts (way back in 1997). The shell was pretty good otherwise. I still feel bad. I still have the number plates and speedo head...

Mind you, the engine lived on in my Dyane and then a friend's Ami, and the chassis saved 2CV number two from the scrapheap. The fog light switch ended up on my CX and I'm sure there are little bits that have made it onto my red/white Dolly.

I've bum raped 3 Mirafiori's for their engines and weighed the rest in

I have scrapped stuff that I should have saved. And, naturally, saved stuff I should have scrapped. Some of those that were scrapped were bodged to scrappery instead of being repaired properly and being saved. Sorry. I sinned.

However, the one thing that I do not think will ever be redeemed is letting a Mk1 1959 Mini go for scrap (cheers, Dad) after not being arsed to fix it when he wanted to cut the grass it was sat on.

I want to buy every 106 GTI/mk1 Saxo Vts that appears on e-bay.

Never owned a car. There's no particular reason I'm here, just part of the background really.

There is a special circle of Hell reserved for people like you.

Forgive me father, i can't weld and have never changed my own timing belt.  I drive old cars and then spend many £££'s on getting the garage to fix them.  I would probably spend less getting a car on finance.

In my shed, there is a mesh Bentley * type grille I bought on eBay for my Chrysler 300. The reason I never fitted it was that I couldn't be arsed taking the bumper off.

I always take the piss out of fake Bentley 300s, but in reality if I wasn't so lazy my old one would have had a lovely* grille.

Available for postage to the first shiter to get a sub £2k 300- anytime soon, promise I won't tell anyone.

Mrs the princess has changed more timing belts than I have.

I have "cold welded" several cars, the last one was a ZX which received plates to both inner wings thanks to some lead flashing, some sikkaflex and a healthy coating of black gunk underseal.

Possibly the worst one was a 1984 Mini Sprite which received cold welding repairs to its rear subframe and to the floor pan using Formica and chemical metal. Serves me right then when the thing caught fire, not at all down to one of my electrical bodges after the lights failed.

Me too ! But they went back in Land rovers

I once shagged a female shotputter and weighed in a B plate 205gti 1.6 for £15, must have been one of the first in the country. I am ashamed of only one of these facts.

djimbob and I once tried to build a sidecar. It didn't end well.

It was fucking tough even if it was too heavy to actually move under the steam of a puny Kwacker 400 twin :-P

happily this is probably not even in the top ten of crap projects I have been involved in :-D

I think i possibly already said  , I knocked a Copper off his motorbike whilst driving my go kart down our road. And i got away with it !

Another time , i was pushing another kart (yamaha 250cc one ..v. fast! ) ready to leap on..slam it into gear to bump start it and the fooking thing took off ..! i leapt off and it went charging down't road ,swerved up someones drive ,me running after it ...and CRUMP ! It ploughed into their car ..wedging itself underneath.. I quickly pulled it out and dragged it home, I often wonder what they thought had happened to their car , when they saw the damaged rear valance..

Sounds very much like me then.

Also; I scrapped a Sierra Sapphire Ghia many years ago, and now I want to own a BMW E38 7-series.

This isn't going to end well.

I drive a Corsa B. That is modified. And is quite loud. And not at all fast. And I had a Vectra B. Which I thought was fupping great. I am getting Lego for the second Christmas in a row ( well they keep bringing out big cool car models!).

lego eh?

what is it this year? i've got last years (i think) real mini still in its box upstairs.

i once had a go on the pillion seat of the other half hardley-dangerous, and hated it. i've never been so cold/scared/uncomfortable in all my life. apart from when i did the DBT thing and discovered that a motorcycle is not for me...

It was the Mini last year and an F40 this year, which will look grand next to the Bburago 1-18 example that I got from my parents for Christmas 1989 whrn I was 10!

I once took a 2 door Mk 1 Escort into some woods & drove it into trees until it wouldn't go any more & left it there.

I'm 50 years old & drive an MG ZR(van) with a noisy exhaust,tinted windows & lowered suspension.

I once had a white Mk 3 Cortina.I fitted a new front wing & instead of painting it white,I painted the other wing & rear quarters black too so that it looked like an American Police car.I also fitted a siren.
