Also gets points for worst car name ever

NO WAY! Rover Streetunwise is on my list of guilty wants. 2dr dizzler with those lovely steelies pls.

I would also love to see a Rover 75 'Allroad', if MGR had survived another year or too they probably would have made it and all.

There are lots of cars I don't want to own, but I love reading about them on here.

Everything is worth a try for a bit

Stilos are fine, just a bit bland and not very "Italian-feeling" (if you'll pardon the bollocks).

I liked my C2 - avoid the automated gearbox and they're a fun little thing.  I'd have a 1.4 HDI as a runaround.

Chevy Spark deserves an award for being the only modern car with undersized wheels.

I'd actually like to try a Shittyrover, just to see if they really are as dire as everyone says they are.

P12 Primera I can sort of agree with - fugly, dull to drive, stupid dash and less than totally reliable - a big letdown after the P10 and P11.

Pretty sure there is love for every single car made - Although the Semi Auto A class is like driving under the influence of the magic Roundabout

I'll sort of come out in defence of the P12 Primera... a mate's got one he just doesn't care about. I mean, actually, doesn't care about. If it was a dog, it would be the poster mutt for the RSPCA. It never gets washed and you need a wash every time you get out of it. Somewhere in the rear seat is a pat of butter. It had a flat the other day and he chucked on the spare, which just about inflated. It's now running around on very unbalanced tyres. It never gets serviced. He's trying to kill it.

Problem is, he's been trying for 5 years. It won't die...

[Edit] Just remembered, he had one before that his wife put through a fence at speed... backwards. Drove it around with a bent chassis for about a year. He doesn't have it now though... it was nicked [/Edit]

I reckon there'll be someone on here prepared to own anything if it had a bit of test & cost less than £250.

I'd own pretty much anything at all, the only things I wouldn't bother with are down to personal taste, so I therefore have no intention of ever keeping a Ka for example.

I was actually thinking of you as I typed that comment, Billy :-D

City Rovers have a high survival rate considering they're unloved orphans from over a decade ago, they must be quite reliable and hardy. Indian car buyers are a lot more discerning than many people give them credit for, and they drive on crap roads a lot.

I hated them when they were new but like the P12 Primera's styling now, but you're right, they aren't a good drive after the excellent if bland looking previous models.

I would like to propose the Mitsubushi Lancer, at least I think that was what I had as a rental back in about 1980. Just about the blandest car I have had the displeasure to drive. Are there any left to make it worth my while?

My vote goes to the shakin' ass Renault Megane. Any car that needs the front end dismantling to change the light bulbs has to be s**t.

Second place goes to the US Ford Escort. A horrible underpowered plastic appliance devoid of any attraction apart from the fact that it has wheels.

I was impressed by the Fiat Stilo. My other half's sister bought a new one in the land of the autobahn and the calm refined way it cruised (legally) at 120+ mph was very impressive.

The collaboration between Renault and Nissan seemed to result in worse cars from both companies.

They aren't very good at it. Instead of an Alfa that was reliable with Japanese build quality, they made a Cherry that didn't handle with no soul.

Renault made the Alliance instead of an AMC Spirit Gordini turbo.

Shame..

Mitsubishi made a 2 litre turbo version of that generation Lancer, any survivors are no doubt in Ireland now.

I imagine it must have been 'fun' to drive when the lag kicked in. Anyone mention torque steer?

Where do you buy your clothes? :-D

The colour reminded me of 1970's denim.

I mostly buy my clothes in charity shops and car boots or raid the clothing bins so i do actually have some jeans in that shade

So the list might just be going down to "PT Cruiser"? The car literally no one has said anything nice about on here? :-D

Hired a large auto gas (petrol) powered one in the states once. In cream.

All the women in our family (we went to a wedding in ohio) said "Oh how cute" and all the blokes said "It's Shit, It gay, and it's an embarrassment to think your overriding impression of the American car industry is that pos"

I never thought that, I just thought that the Chevy cavalier was so much nicer looking (Good job it wasn't for sale)

No way, 30,000 DERBY taxi drivers can't all be wrong.

Of course the home of The Avensis is Burnaston/Littleover on the outskirts of Derby and EVERY mini cab in the city has been built there.

I'd rather have a PT Cruiser than a Vectra but ownership of either would see me sleeping in it.

How come nobody has mentioned Picasso's yet?

Oooh go on then.

Foul, uncomfortable, similar shape to a spud, build quality of a pie case, foul....horrid contraption.

Economical, makes for an excellent three piece band crew bus, will transport a fridge freezer.

As desirable as a pair of tramps pants, so I gave it to Bone the Younger.....who loves it.

How about the Chevrolet Spark? Someone on here had one as a 'courtesy' car recently and it didn't even have a clock!

Our Mx5 has no clock..................no electric windows, no airbag, no retro fitted PAS, no air con......no central locking........

.................................

...........................................................But it does have an oil pressure gauge

Which seems the RIGHT way to instrument a dashboard to me.

still a few LTs left over here,

yes they are great fun, no they don't suffer serious lag, you don't get torque steer from rear wheel drive unless the shell is bent of course.

I like the shake that ass Megane, I still think it looks half decent. I'd have one. I also like the Picasso, I would also have one as they are practical and weird looking.

Girl at work has a Stilo estate, looks pretty good to me. I would have one.

The only thing I would not have is a Ka.

I think a booted Focus is shit too. Would not have.

Have you ever had one drive past? I think they've got a 2-cylinder petrol engine. They sound awesome! You can get similar ones in The Netherlands with tiny diesel engines too. DO IT! (Then epic raffle when your're bored of it).

I have to wade in in defence of the Matiz. My Missus had three on the trot, first was an SE plus in a 'W' reg (brand new) and t was a bloody great car, did everything she needed and I used it loads as well. We did 17000 miles in it in a year and thrashed it everywhere - had a 100 on the clock once as well!

That got replaced with an 02 silver one, same spec and apart from the fact that it was a magnet for twats who loved to drive into it while it was parked (new back door, both bumpers various scrapes all in separate events - repaired in a timely fashion of course) it was also a brilliant little car. When it was getting old, my wife didn't want to change it as it was still like new and low mileage but I persuaded her to get....

A brand new 07 Chevrolet version. To get the same spec she had to have the four cylinder thing and it was the BIGGEST PILE OF SHIT ON THE PLANET!  It got sold on after less than a year and wasn't missed and we vowed to never have a another Chevrolet!

I owned a green 1600 version of one of these.... 100hp RWD skinny tyres whats not to like....would go sideways in the same gentle way an RS2000 did, totally controllable by way of the accelerator and more fun than any FWD car I have ever driven.
