Can't post a pic of mine but you all know what a Honda Insight looks like anyway. Silver with a tiny bit of muck on the wheels, raindrops on the roof/bonnet etc (beading beautifully!) and an interior that looks like the doss house at Battersea dogs home! Well, the front's clean....

This is supposed to be a daily, but has a leaking K-Jetronic fuel distributor:

Oddly the reliable hack among the current daily drivers.

1.5 dci Juke. I got it through a special deal with my work. I didn't even test drive one but it's turned out to be much better than I thought although I still thinking the styling is a bit wiffy.

My "daily driver" is whatever I happen to own at the time, no room or money for more than one car unfortunately.

Those wee VAG vans are the dogs danglies. Far more fun than they should be and feel nice and nippy.

If I had space I'd have one for mountain biking

Our diesel focus - currently on 121k. Mechanically sound but starting to look a bit challenged.

My A6. Even though it's 11years old I still feel a twat driving it. I originally wanted an S4 but this was a one owner 50k car for the same price as a ropey S4. Does'nt get used much because, basically, it's too clean for its own good.

2000 Polio 1.4 Tdi. 145k miles now, needed little that wasn't usual consumerable in 2 years/15k. Very good on fuel, uncomfy seats, currently has intermittent warning light wobbler. It seems to have become the family/friends pool car, largely lost to No2 son now.

Interesting... is it a 1.9?

My daily of choice is the XM. 128,000 miles now, and feeling a bit clunky and worn out. Engine mounts perhaps. Does work hard, but hasn't actually clocked up many miles in the past month - about 200. Still on French fuel from when I filled up in early October.

The Nippa is back-up/Mrs DW's choice. The contrast between the two cars is just fabulous and I reckon is part of the reason I love both so much. When I get fed up, I just drive the other one for a bit. Nippa is far, far easier to park. You can practically see the rear bumper by looking over your shoulder.

This is my daily, bought from the original salesman who sold it new at trimoco ford Chelmsford, he sold it to his sales rep son brand new, when it came time to trade in, the salesman bought it from him and ran it up until late 2011 when his daughter forced him to get rid, the advert stated if he didn't like the buyer it wouldn't get sold so no wannabe drifters or banger racers, we had a great chat with him over a brew about old ford's etc the old boy had a lump in his throat and a tear in his eye when we bid him farewell.

I must have upset someone in a previous life because I started a new job a couple of months ago and was given this as my daily drive.

Just like the old nails I used to drive for P&H, only brand new.  So I'm paranoid I'm going to bend it, and the boss will know it was me 'cause no other bugger's ever driven it.

A 2003 Honda Civic imagine, it does what it was designed to do and gives very little trouble, I really should like it but it doesn't set the pulse racing

My daily is this 318tipost-9282-0-37277800-1446918192_thumb.jpeg

I bought it to keep the mileage down on the Z3 during the winter months.

The problem is it's an immaculate low mileage car and the last owner had it 15 years even the wheels still look new but I've noticed on the concrete roads around here in the wet it can be a bit of a handful but I don't know if it's because it's shod with Pirelli p6000s.

I'm starting a new job next week which is about a 40 mile round trip and parking looks like it could be an issue so I might start getting a train to work and will use it just as a station car as I don't want to damage the old girl and let it near the salt covered roads over the winter.

My father also lives down the same road as me but only has the one car so his is a daily driver and it can get quite confusing as this one is his.

post-9282-0-77448900-1446919658_thumb.jpeg

It's equally in as good condition but I do give it a coat of wax and grease underneath when I clean it for him and the I've taped over the rear jacking points to keep it as new underneath.

My current modern daily and my wife's new mode of transport is this Focus 1.6 TDCi Zetec S. I was a bit apprehensive about buying it having been stung by my last Focus diesel but I must say this one is everything I need from a car, it's a nice ride, handles well and looks flashy too.

And my main daily is this Sierra 1.8 LX that I got back on the road recently after 9 years in a barn (as I'm sure you've read already). Other than a few carb issues causing a bit of a miss which I think is dirt in the slow idle jet it's been faultless so far but it's a bit of a handful in the wet and the wife can't get on with it so there's a possibly that I might be tempted to move it on again for something a bit more modern. I haven't decided yet.

Bearing in mind this was taken a couple of years ago. Looks much the same but not as clean and things are starting to go wrong. Hopefully it'll last me until I'm able to repair the Merc.

Interesting... is it a 1.9?

It's more of an Ibiza van than a Polo van, it still has the crummy dashboard of an early mk2 Ibiza. [/inverse snobbery]

It uses the same 1.9 TDI engine as 320touring's rank taxi, they are rare - must have been quite a bit more expensive to buy than the SDI.

As of this week it's this -

2.0 petrol so goes reasonably well but also drinks in a similar fashion.  Comfy and very useful.

This is still seeing some use until its sold. Tax out at the end of the month and I am a bit tempted to stick the winter tyres on and use it for OMGSNOWCHAOS.

I suppose in the interests of honesty I should also add that for the first time in my life, I have bought a new car although its for Mrs_Lobsta and is bang on what she wants. That said, its actually fairly decent to drive and I've been really pleasantly surprised by it. Lot better than a new car for a (discounted) slightly under £8k has any right to be.

A '96 VVC F  which I bought for £275 off ebay in feb, when I got confused and thought it was a 4 door, turbo diesel, german saloon. So far it as 12,000 miles with little in the way of issues. The aim is to get my X1/9 through an MoT this month so I can use it for work one day a week and drop the mileage on the F a bit

Here's mine, a bit of a Marmite car but I like it. Cheap, nice & comfy albeit a bit gutless and quite juicy.
