What is the Weakest Excuse you have used for buying a car?

Writing a few words about my second Visa 17RD reminded me how I ended up with it. I already have a near identical car!

Buying this car was probably the weakest excuse you have every heard, I bought it because it was for sale only 3 miles from my home!

Yellow was the only reason i bought it . I had a yellow mini mk1,  a yellow renault 17 ts , a yellow Cav mk2 , an a yellow astravan mk2 ... I like yellow !

I had a Mk 1 that colour! I put a similarly yellow airscoop from a Colt Turbo on it. And yellow tape on the dashboard trim bits.

It was gonna get scrapped if I didn't take it. (Just about every car I've owned).

Yeh, but if I sell it I'll always get me money back....

99% of the time it's price first, location second (i.e local) However, I bought the last council garage door green 5 door 306 because it was diesel, and I have a spare council garage door green 5 door 306 in my garage. One day I'm going to hoist the engine/box out, put steels on to replace the Speedlines, get some other bits off then give the remains to the scrap man.

Oh, I once bought loads of car because a neighbour complained about the three or four I had, and bubbled me up for one not being taxed. By the time I had 15 out the front, all MOT'd, taxed and insured, he was fucked.

its cheap and im bored of the old one. \

it needs 11ty spent to fix (30 quid tops)

1) I was bored.

2) I was in drink.

3) I got approved for a credit card.

4) I was sad.

It was an accident, I thought I'd get outbid (half the cars I've bought off ebay).

I had some money and found it on the internet. That's the usual excuse. What more reason do you need?

Two feeble excuses:

Inside the barn by Skizzer, on Flickr

Jag:  Scooters won this and a Triumph 2500 on eBay at the same time and if I hadn't bought the Jag he'd have had to do the eBay mong thing and get negged.

Dedra:  I found both of them in this barn on some land a friend was renting and it looked sad.  Owner wouldn't sell the one on the left, possibly because it wasn't quite as fucked.

Oh, right.  But it's free and someone needs to save it.

Sam (Captain Slow) told me it might be useful for me.**

**I will add, in his defense, that Sam didn't recommend I buy the whole car.
