Excited ?

Will a handsaw do or should I bring the chainsaw?

Great minds...

I'll be down about 7pm, and if someone could help me pitch a tent I'd appreciate it.

Got my own tools and more than ready to be a second pair of hands/instructed about. Don't leave me on my own though!

Posted

I'll be down probably slightly later, but hopefully before dark. That is assuming no mechanical problems...

Bringing 30mm spanner plus 1mm shim, plenty of gloves, a server for @Zelandeth, and a circular florescent plus assorted old bulbs for @LightBulbFun. Oh, and a bottle of wine :-)

EDIT - anyone need BX parts bringing down?

The serious bit for the guests of the open weekend.

Please bring your own antibacterial gel, food, drink, tools and chair. Wear gloves or wipe down things touched by others....!

Beer. A few bottles of Guinness and Hoegaarden should do it.

Industrial rubber gloves - check.

Tools....er.....

Chair? I'll sit on the ground, which is probably where I'll end up anyway if I fall off a moped....

oh box of mystery  bulbs, sounds exciting :) if you have something for @Zelandeth then assuming its ok with him can you also leave my stuff with him as well? I imagine they would be in better storage conditions with him then tucked under REV's seat!

and then I can collect them from him when I can actually make it down that way in a way that everyone is happy with :)

If I see him I will, otherwise will leave safe.

Right, I'm going to try to drop by on the Sunday.  Quite happy to hold onto your stuff LBF until I next see you, or forward on anything that's postage friendly.

Still not totally sure which vehicle to bring...

What are we going to do this weekend?

There is no obligation to do anything, just sit around in the sunshine and drink tea if you like.

However there are a few things to do if you like messing about with old cars and equipment such as:

·         Make the Renault 11 run and fetch fish and chips with it.

·         Check over the BMW 323i to see what it needs for MOT.

·         Check cooling on white Gamma and free up the brakes.

·         Make the 1 ton dumper run.

·         Recommission Honda moped.

·         Recommission Peugeot moped.

·         Recommission Bikes Direct 125cc Frankenstein.

·         Reassemble the Hayter ride on cylinder mower.

·         Progress the work on Mrs6C’s Invacar.

·         Progress the work on Light Bulb Funs’s Invacar.

·         Fit fuel pump and headlight to Citroen CX

·         Reassemble the Jinling ATV

·         Remove and clean starter inhibitor switch on 1958 MF Tractor

Might it be prudent of me to bring my gas soldering iron, box of crimps, heatshrink and other such bits? Might be little practical use myself (although equally I can run a wire or 2, or clean up connectors) but if it helps anyone else etc.

I must bring my front seatbelt and tools, that would be an easy job to do at the field, and my bulbs as I think I have a sidelight out...

If the weather is like it is here it'll be lovely. Nice wide cloud cover, occasional bask in sun but not enough to slather the kids in it several times in the day, no wind, its lovely!

Course it's a different ecosystem up nearer mk, over the other side of the ridge...

It's bootiful here in Norfolk.  A few fluffy clouds but that's it.  Tools loaded in car, about to set off.  I'll check into my hostelry first, probably be at the FOD about 3.30-ish.

We are on our way, only been on the road for 5 minutes and already out of tea, luckily I'm not driving so I can panic. Be there around 3pm. bf93905059d32aaa91044a3390e96e02.jpg

Ok that’s Saturday morning done, what have you got for folks to do for the rest of the weekend !

I’ve  had a damned radio cassette player for @Six-cylinder ‘s CX in the boot since February. Can’t make this weekend as I am staying with my sister’s family again and need to make a volcano erupt. One day I’ll be able to visit again.

Hey REV is Taxed and insured (and MOT exempt) so if you have that type of insurance that covers you to drive other vehicles (and if you have experience driving a Model 70!)

then if you can get REV road worthy then your more then take her to get Fish and Chips, single seater so you dont have to worry about passengers, the ultimate in social distancing  (and most importantly theres still a parcel shelf to put said bag of fish and chips)

Will I need to bring anything in particular on Sunday morning? (making the assumption I am still welcome).

I’ll bung a load of general tools in the car and some bits and bobs I need to rehome.
