when are the FoD collective being invited to the spice hut for scraninngtons :D

It is a good point. The Spice Hut has a good car park and if they were inclined to support it, it would make a decent group outing - 'Cars & Curry'. There is a decent hand car wash next door as well...

I have never been to the Spice Hut myself, is it any good apart from a photo location?

What do you reckon is the total total though Chris - the whole fleet?! Still, looks like a good year, and you are trying to sell an AX at least...

Sorry to partly thread hijack, but with invacars @LightBulbFun @Mrs6C are there any parts bincomponents from other manufacturers used or is it all bespoke stuff? I’m always trying to Place components when I see a pic.

To quote @Zelandeth :)

Quote

The whole car is essentially 400kgs of bits out of a whole plethora of parts bins from around the world flying in close formation.

The Model 70 is about as close as you can get to an entire car built out of parts bin stuff I imagine! (although Bond equipes get even their chassis from "the parts bin" so they might win there!)

Main body, chassis and gearbox is bespoke, but otherwise its all parts bin stuff, switches lights* stalks all BL/Lucas stuff, engine is 493cc Steyr puch unit, brakes are 7 inch girling, wheels are 10 inch Mini items (not sure where the 12 inch wheels come from, just that they where used on previous invalid vehicles before the Model 70) rear suspension is fiat 500 based (but with Spax adjustable shocks!), window catches are Mk1 Mini/land rover, transmission is from salsbury, door handles are morris minor traveller rear door handles, rear engine cover/front service hatch hinges are hillman imp (which people tend to always point out, and then tell you your windscreen wiper switch is upside down!)

you get the idea :) (front suspension could be described as bespoke, but its put together using parts bin stuff mostly IIRC)

if theres anything specific your wondering about feel free to ask!

*the rear lights while parts bin I THINK, where as far as I can track down first used on the Model 70, and then propagated out to various reliants and what have you

Bit much for one wheel trim but it's on eBay.

It it is a common pattern so I am sure in the summer I can pick one up for a fraction of that, but only really need the fitting ring as I have the cover.

This is because it is, the door came off an 03 car and they had changed the shade silver by then. There is also a crease in the front door from a separate hit.

I bought it from breadvan with minor damage to the front wing and then it has been hit twice while parked, once firmly in the rear door!

Could have been alot worse, at least it was only the door and not the rear arch! Or the front of the C15, which would have been alot harder to cobble together with used parts!

I thought about going to have a look at Fiat Seicento SX this morning for sale on FB, but the seller has put me off.

I’d leave these little Fiats . Pain in the Arse to work on as no room under bonnet , had one with typical Fiat wiring problems ****

Not much car wise to report this holiday, my lazy/play it safe streak saw me take the Range Rover to drive the 200 miles to visit Mrs6C’s parents in Wales. Mrs6C is staying in Wales a little longer so our XM also got a trip to Wales.

Originally the plan was we would go down in one car and Mrs6C would drive back her father’s Berlingo face lift for us to sell for him. This was because his original MK1 Berlingo was running fine again, but now it isn’t so he is going to hold onto the face lift for now.

Baged a couple of models for Christmas but not really my Scale.

I was advised as it was going to rain overnight I should move the RR across the ford or it would become challenging, I did not move it until the morning but it did not become challenging at all.

When I got home I had to repair the firebox in our Rayburn stove before I could light it. Dig out some broken Firebrick and add fire cement was really all that I did but I cannot put two hands and a light in as I would have liked through the firebox door.

( more husband and wife communications this time with 200 miles between us, Mrs6C did you see there was a bad derailment at Harpers Ferry)
