Is saturday when most people intend to be at the FoD then? Just trying to move my weekend jobs around.

Is anyone planning to come down on Sunday or stay over from Saturday? Was intending to come over then but might need to rearrange to Saturday if no-one else is going to be there.

@Talbot David, does your genny do any 13A action for recharging tool batteries?

Snot my generator, it belongs to the cylinders.  However, yes, it has a 4-way BS1363 normal 3-pin sockets extension and can be used for charging stuff.  What sort of power is needed for charging?  I ask, as I plan to bring a 300w inverter with me too so that the generator doesn't have to be running for ages to charge stuff.  (also a couple of batteries to run it from)

I might come down on the Saturday morning this time. Might be starting a job in early June so I'll take one last weekend of fun before I have commitments!

5A 18v batteries for the drill, so I can dig holes* in the Lancia with a flap wheel.

Charger for that is likely 150-ish watts.  Will run just fine from a decent 12V battery and a small inverter.

Apologies for my ignorance, but I'm very much a newcomer to AS. What and where is Field of Dreams? Sounds like fun.

Ignorance is bliss! Pm @Six-cylinder but it's near Milton Keynes for a rough idea

Spring plate with edge tediously folded up, holes for many large plug welds, nipple pinched (oooo errrr) from old mount plate was zapped in both sides and then the lot was buzzed on

Zinc primed then some Some stone chip slapped over the top.  Safety squints on, the spring was compressed and wedged into place.

I've got a solar powered USB charger I'm happy to lend to the event if it would be handy.

Can't remember the exact capacity but when we were off grid for three days in March a couple of years back it was able to keep the power banks charged during the day which in turn fully charged our phones overnight.  It just lives in the van but obviously hasn't seen any real use lately!

The Field of Dreams (FoD) is our 11 acre small holding where we have orchards and other small scale farming activities. We reserve 1/3 acre paddock for our invited friends to socialise and camp . You are welcome to bring along your own car or other projects to work on. We love cars and equipment and have a variety of things you can help us we if so inclined. Sometimes if the planets aline we can drive around our 10 acre main field without racing, but at the moment we have sheep on it. You can come for an hour or the whole weekend coming and going as you please. Facilities are limited and consist of a composting toilet in a dunny and mains water.

As beko says between Milton Keynes and Buckingham and to help our security we only send out the address to guests who are visiting and ask you never publish it or photos that reveal where we are.

Remember machinery is dangerous and you will need to take responsibility for your own safety.

If you wish to visit please pm me.

We can always charge them at the house.

EFA. Did you ever ascertain if the selling dealer was SC Woodhams?

1993 K the Carlton Club was a run out model at £15,500 and the 200TE was £25,516.

You had to bring it up, in 1993 my company car was a Carlton Club estate not a 200TE!

Mmm I could chuck some car washing stuff in the car and set the children off washing things... Might keep them from running around too much

How much financial recompense would be required for a citroen berlingo van?

In other news,is anyone on Saturday any good at applying vinyl?

All Vauxhalls Are'nt Shite

L410 SHC

A scruffy , well used, maybe not pampered , but a loved car. one thing a Carlton does well is trigger memories for people.  When i had mine, people would speak to me about it and id always be told of how someones boss, grandad, mate, dad, etc etc had one and how they had piled in it to go to clacton or somewhere way back when .

This carlton for me, and i also learned mr @sutty2006 aswell holds memories of a friend, a fellow shite car lover and true vauxhall nut called Ian.  Know for many a vauxhall related shenanigan.

Screenshot_20210526-202817.jpg.4c2ba84cc3cc87699f8ddf57b3933ce5.jpg

Over the the years ian always mentioned he wanted to get the car painted. Sadly that day never came so when i got the car in i decided to do what i could to bring a little sparkle back to the old girl with the bonus that it may bring back some memories of the mid 90s for Mr and Mrs 6cylinder.  I sadly cant offer a full respray but i can weild a rattle can or 10 (dont paint in a dark workshop at night btw) , fit Some new indicators and some bending of bumper brackets.

I freely admit, after sticking the slightly battered bonnet badge that had been kept in the car for probably donkeys years back upfront in its rightful place, i stood back and had a little cry, sad and happy tears. its always the little things that get you.

Always appreciate the little things in life.

Interesting, HC (and also JK) is Eastbourne reg, East Sussex. Pulborough is West. Maybe they got it through Woodhams, not sure how to verify.

True.

I wish the idiot welder hadn't fried the electrics on the Owd Giffer's 2.6CDX manuel all those years ago - it was a fine car, and a bit of a weapon when the loud pedal was applied.

I’m welling up. 😢 Ian was a great bloke. My favourite memory was going to a Dutch mantas show in 2014 in mine and his mantas. I went prepared with Satnav, Ian took an old AA road map of europe. He navigated (on this own) round the Antwerp bypass better than me with a co-pilot and navman at the helm. Top bloke. And a top Carlton. 👍
