Is that pallet in the flowerbed a present for me? :-)

Yes, better than flowers!

Oh to have a wife who considers a free pallet a worthwhile gift!

Drives beautifully, that XM - better than either of mine.

Pallets don't grow on trees, you know!

I think you are wrong!

Now there are two!

Yesterday  we were informed our container had finally been separated from the tree that had spent 20 years growing round its chassis. We went to check it over and our vehicle of choice including some motorway running was our Ami. No not an electric one but the powerful 602cc Twin!

The Ami tried to look tuff in the lorry park and tow the container home, but no progress was made!

Shelves to display our fine china collection!

Blue porcelain? I’ve just been reading John Le carre’s last novel where it plays a role. Not his best but he was on his way out I suppose.

Looks like you've brought a section of field to exchange for the shelves.

Decision Made, Sunshine will be provided! FoD opening 14/15 May.

I have been debating as to weather I should open the FoD for the 14/15 May as well as the 4/5 June and having seen the weather forecast I will open both dates. The proposed patronage seemed to be slit with no obvious all can make it weekend.

As soon as I told Eva that I wanted to get the tent up she asked about sleeping over... I'm not sure though, could do 🤔

@Slowsilver will the grass be cut by then? I could pitch up at the end of the field in the Vauxhall suite

Or granny can have them to sleep over and I can nip out to get some beers and sleep on my own 😂

The tent wants to come out before shitefest anyhow, the last time I saw it was in Devon and that was a while ago now. Canvas gets stored in the house though so I'm not too worried

I wonder how feasible it would be for me to go straight from Bournemouth to Buckingham as soon as I get out of the airport.

Ideas from Mrs6C for14 May 2022 FoD opening

  • The Bedford CF diesel started and moved under its own power
  • Lay some track and run our battery miniature Railway engine for its first outing with us
  • Drink tea and chat.

This weeks car stuff included moving the 2CV and Gamma soon to come out of the shed.

Oh yes this is @Slowsilver Maxi photobombing the foreign cars! Thanks again for helping me move cars around.

June date is a possible for me. Might be a good time for me to work out if I can sleep in an MX-5.

I should be along for this Saturday, just for the day though.

This weekend I bagged a load of Scaletric via a local free cycle, is there any interest on a FoD model race track? Have yet to work out what’s all there but there should be enough for a working set-up!

I'll put a strong "would not recommend" in that box. Shorter footwell in the passenger side puts your legs in a funny place. Non-adjustable steering wheel means you can't move around in the driver's side. I have tried...

In fact I'm so anti-MX5-sleepage I'm bringing a 50 year old Land Rover for (get this) more comfort!

I thought it was just me! My son had an MX5 a year or two ago and I was surprised that my 5'9" would not fit comfortably in the passenger seat.  Driving it was a bit more comfortable. We measured the legroom each side and found the passenger side to be about 6" shorter.

I believe the ECU is fixed in front of the passenger footwell, between the BIW and the carpet/false floor. I never noticed, until my mate drove my car and I had a double take as I got in the passenger seat!

Mrs6C bought some more miniature railway track ready for the weekend and the XM was once again the beast of burden.
