This is just such an awesome thing to do.  I almost wish I didn't have any cars and could justify doing something as crazy as this.

This is properly tense. Will he make it before midnight? Will be simply be blown off the road?

RAC dayinsure is usually only about £20 for any car I've wanted a 24hr policy on

That Aston is not a write off.  Even the Corsa could be repaired if you wanted to repair it.  Madness.

The aston uses a bonded aluminium composite tub similar to that found on the lotus Elise - any damage here could soon get expensive. If the car was sent to aston martin works for repair I dread to think what the bill was.

Vulgalour might have recreated this accident autoshite style, careering across a former British leyland Sales forecourt and into the side of a shagged Jag xj6

Its fucking properly windy out there, hope he packed a spare set of trousers! I snuck above 70 on the m40 on the way home and quickly dived back down as I started to be blown into the hard shoulder! And I'm sure a zx weighs more than a corsa b...

Well, after a cuppa and a chat I took him in convoy to get some pez, and that was almost two hours ago so hopefully he's bombing up the M11 about now. Or stuck in traffic on the M25....Being povvo spec the Corsa doesn't have a ciggy lighter so is a bit touch and go whether his Tom Tom had enough juice to get him outta London.

BTW, Angyl is a thoroughly pleasant chap for those who haven't met him. I hope we meet up again at some shite event or wherever. Meeting a fellow shiter has left me feeling good after a tough week at work. This place IS what it used to be!

Good news there. Corsas aren't too bad in the wind, I think theory rounded shape helps. Proper bargain this. Last time I heard of a sub 200 quid motor was when a workmate in 98 bought an F reg sierra with frilly door bottoms.

VERY windy here in Nottinghamshire, must be blowing a proper gale over the A1 right now.

And very mild for the time of year. Heater not required. Hope cooling system is OK...

Wasn't he against the clock? Only got 4 hours insurance left hasnt he?

Posted

maybe he's been abducted by a strange corsa loving salesman*

I think he said on here that due to a little white lie by the insurer (24hrs insurance being different to "until midnight") he was doing some sort of Smokey+Bandit against-the-clock run home.

Maybe he's had a nervous breakdown after jumping in a corsa b from a xantia, thought what the fuck have I done, sacked it off and jumped on a bus...

Anyways he can't be broken down as he still isn't answering the phone and he would if the AA got involved haha

Don't be bloody daft, he hasn't broken down because he's in a Corsa. As I always tell my kids when we see a Vauxhall on the hard shoulder or the back of a recovery truck, they haven't broken down, they got a flat tyre or run out of fuel.

Surely it's because all Vauxhalls (sorry, VAUXHALL'S) are:

a: D701 SWL

b: Dead boodies of insects

c: ?????

d: profit

e: shit

Mr V has bought himself a baseball cap, and is currently doing donuts and burnouts at McDonalds.

Do your kids still believe in Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy?

No because 1) I shot him and 2) They haven't got any now, I knocked them all out when they muttered something about a nice looking VW.

Vulg's preferred choice of headgear is a trilby, very dapper, so he's not your averge Corsa driver!

He'll be fine, although the lack of PAS might have narked him a bit on the urban stretch before reaching the straight stuff. I'd deffo have another, but it would have to be a 1.4 with PAS 'cos I am a weedy weakling.

No. He's not going anywhere near Chester.

This is getting tense now. Only just over an hour left before game over and no news...

He called me earlier and said his ETA was around 11-ish, so should be any moment now.

He did tell me the brakes, or lack thereof, are terrifying. System full of air, knackered servo, wonky bias valve? We shall see.
