A Peugeot 104 with a 2CV engine, launched shortly after Peugeot bought Citroën.  The Citroën purists were not happy!

This one was in a  shithole suburb of Walsall, so I don't think it was a footballer...

I suspect the residual value on these things is stupidly low... at the end of the day they are just a van full of tat. 😂

Uneco Suburban Safari

Located just north of Madison Nebraska, Suburban Motors came to life in the late 1960's from a metal fabricating company called Uneco. In 1968 the Suburban Safari was born. While the exact number made is up for debate, sources say between 58 and 64 were officially produced before a fire destroyed the plant and ended any future plans.

I think you can still buy the Scala new in the UK.

Citroën 2cv Radar
Robert Radar created this 2-door convertible, based on the 2cv platform, in 1956. Citroën was interested and made 20 of these in their Forest factory between 1957 and 1962. And yes, that windscreen is the rear window of the DS.

I love that style of estate based van, having had a Peugeot 305.

Remember the Rekord vans?

Also in 92/93 a reasonable number of BX vans were sold in Ireland. Here's one that got to the UK 7_amd.thumb.jpg.f3f73d2ce050ca9aee108bf07e7926df.jpg

Simca also did a van, later to become a Talbot or Dodge. A friend had one for his company runabout that I borrowed to collect some furniture from the Isle of Wight, somehow we managed to squeeze in a sideboard, a disassembled dining room table and four chairs, as well as my pregnant wife and myself. I think the inside is a bit like a Tardis.

Yes, I only had my 305 for a year, but in that time I took my brother with all his  worldly possessions to Germany where hes lived ever since. We loaded up, drove down the road then realised that one tyre was rubbing on the inner wheel arch, owing to a previously undiagnosed worn suspension bearing . We stopped, pulled everything out then put it back with all the heavy stuff on the other side. No more problems, and once I dropped him off in Essen my wife flew out and we had a week's holiday. It cruised at 75-80 fine on the autobahn.

The grille suggests there's some Austin in there, but that might be a deliberate distraction... 😉
