What I don't get about the Panther Rio is that as I understand it they took a Triumph Dolomite and rebodied it, extensively, resulting in the car looking spookily like a slightly face-lifted Hillman Hunter with a stronger grill?? Mystifying as they were on the market at the same time, was it purely for some kind of superiority in chassis for a Dolomite?

PS the repost of the picture is just for you Billy :P

At the rate of -£300 per page, that car should find a buyer by about halfway down page 344

R5 Auto. Needs a load of paint and a couple of panels. Also no MOT and hasn't been on the road for at least two years.

Starting bid £500.

But -

Also included in the sale is the registration plate B113 YTT. This could be rearranged to spell BIBY TT

Verdict - The drugs don't work.

at least no modern car maker would be stupid enough to take a budget car and slap a different grille on to pretend it's posh.

Oh, wait a second...........

Heads up: 4 hours left if you want to bag that EXCELLENT white 405 no rust what so ever plus a dent on the boot by the 405 badge which was done by accident like new plenty of tread stops on the button NO MOT SORRY FORGOT TO ADD SHE NEEDS A NEW HANDBRAKE CABLE.

I'm considering putting in a bid to get the lad's hopes up. It would be worth losing my immaculate feedback score of 99.8% over. Anyone in for a last-minute bidding war? Mwahahahaha

Fuck me I would love to start a bidding war, everyone on here should bid stupid amounts

Maybe in a week's time then - since it's relisted

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321090150859

I know we've been through this before, but it is £20 to list a car whether it sells or not, right?

I don't think you pay if it doesnt sell. I sold a volvo a couple of years ago and when it sold I changed the title to SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD and ebay said the description didn't meet there standards and cancelled it - no fee!! Result! But that was the second listing and I didnt pay either time.

This looks nice - if only it had MOT - I think we should all pepper him with numpty questions...

Added to watch list, again.

I've already asked him about the 20p jammed in the handbrake.

Sellers can't leave negative feedback and Ebay is the buyer's friend - game on!!

Really? This is starting to feel like paying to go to the asylum and laugh at the lunatics. "Poke that one with a stick Barry, it'll be HILARIOUS!"

Posted

I'm not interested in buying that 405 for any reason, or even putting much effort into winding up the seller. I asked the handbrake question more out of curiosity as to whether it had been fixed... of course it hadn't.

But I don't mind seeing it through to its conclusion... in a few dozen years it'll be the only one left in Britain & chappie might even finally get his £400, which will then be enough to buy him a pint of milk.

If I had the money and I was closer (and wanted a 405) I'd buy the thing just to put an end to the whole sorry saga.

Oh and the 2000'ish mot certificate

maybe stored in a nice dry council lock up garage for the last 23 years except when it was out n about ;)

I love how people with these sorts of cars bang on about 'started every month!' as if that's a good thing. If you're not getting the engine properly warmed up, then you're probably doing more harm than good. Especially as you'll be filling the exhaust with condensation every time. And no doubt they rev it up a bit to get the coolant temperature up.

Fvcking hell what a shed

apart from the ICE that is

Nothing wrong with a 1.3 a series nor anything else apart from those hateful headlight "bonnets" and wheels. just seems like everything has been done after a visit to halfords and it is all a bit halfarsed.

And the wood looks a bit soft, nowt misfitting about thouse back doors eh

Go for this one instead, it appears to be a lot more ........ together :P
