I've hit a stumbling block, what came out in 1980 other than the Morris Ital?.

Surprised you didn't think of this one Trig...

You 1975 as well?

Yeah, I thought I would be one of the younger members on here but it seems like we're not as young as we look/think/imagine/are told/pretend to be, judging by the suprising birth years seen so far.

I was expecting a barrage of Edsels and Armstrong Siddeleys and Model 'T' Fords and the like.

The carb fed four speeders were a tiny bit shit to be honest. Still better than an Astra SR though.

Blimey some young uns on here!

1976 for me, and what was hot in the hottest summer of recent times. Behold!

I thought 1988 would have been a fairly crap year for cars launched but it's actually not too bad...

We got the BMW E34 5 Series in February, which was a handsome thing

And the Autoshitist's favourite, the Vauxhall Cavalier MK3 in October;

Both of which were pretty bloody good. We also got the Renault 19 and Fiat Tipo amongst others.

Rather depressing looking through what some folk have posted and realising I'd been driving for 10 years when some of them appeared.....

I could comfort myself with a blast in one of these though. :)

1959.....Mini, Anglia, Triumph Herald, 1960 Cadillac

I  think  one  of each would  do  nicely

I was born 1987. Not much suite choice bar a Peugeot 405 and a daewoo espero which wasn't released in the UK till 88 according to Wikipedia so guessing the don't count. I think the lada samara was released in 1987 too?

I'm spoilt for choice.

'75 was definitely a good year.

1975 doesn't look to have been a very exciting year for new car releases to me. So I suppose I'd have to settle for a Dacia pickup -

Spoilt for choice really there were some great cars in '68 plus this was first available. The indestructible Hilux

I suppose it will have to be this though as it was released the same month as me

Car of the Year 1991

7db806d8d79e38fc061cb3faffe7ec6b.jpg

The amount of these still running around kind of says it all. This was the start of Renaults peak for me, the cars that followed in the 90s were just fantastic. Every time I drive one, I can't help thinking how much better they are than the likes of the modern Aygo/107/C1 trio for example which have all the refinement of Katie Price. Finger tip controls by the steering wheel for the stereo, front electric windows (which are still working 20 years on - the newer Renault items don't last 2 years!), and REMOTE central locking if you got the RT - something which you can still buy a VW Polo without! Not to mention the leather and wood filled Baccara which I still have to own.

1959 was a bit of a golden year, looking at these!  And yes, I know the last two would have been first shown at the end of 58, but they were the 1959 models, these are what you would have bought in April when I was born.

So There!

there was nothing in 1998

Good God I feel old now!

Can't think of many that came out in 1998. Mazda 626 & Astra mark IV.

As I was born in Australia in 1967..this has to be my choice. The Holden Torana..and it shared its floorpan with the Viva HB..which some members may know that I did begin a fascination with the HC's whilst living in New Zealand.

From Wiki:The Holden Torana is a car that was manufactured by General Motors–Holden's (GM-H), the Australian subsidiary of General Motors (GM) from 1967 to 1980. The name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning "to fly".

I was born back in 1970 so I have a few decent choices, stuff like the Citroen SM and Range Rover but I've decided to go for something launched at Modena in March 1970, which is also the month of my birth.

attachicon.gifDetomaso_pantera_seite.jpg

I was sorely tempted to go for the Alfa Montreal but the Pantera just pipped it at the post.

Well you've taken the cream from 1970 so all I'm left with is the Hilman Avenger.

But there's also a couple more such as.

And I don't know if the Mk3 gt6 actually counts but it came out in 1970..

Also the Manta came out in 1970.

According to the ever reliable wikipedia, 1991 brought us a limited selection of noteworth chod... I'll go for the Volvo 850, notable for some epic BTCC action:

I'll give this shite an honourable mention; keepy scrappies busy since 1991, the MK3 Astra made it's unspectacular debut:

1991 would have also introduced the J-REG PROTON.  Not a new model in it's own right, but highly* saveable.

1957 Vanwall

Or how about a Ford 400E Thames?

I like both of these but one of these is more me than the other. And more shite.
