All weather is suitable on a big scooter. 

After commuting for 18 years on all types of bikes, from 125's to 1200's, I bought a 400 Piaggio from StrangeAngel. Best commuter I ever had, and with a decent turn of speed.

Change of plans now - scoot was a turd so i sold it locally .

Brother and I coming up in his van and taking my ke175 and his stripped down chinky ped for local bimbling and some green lanes

Trying to stay away from 2 wheels at the moment, time and money constraints, and this shows up local.

A basket case project honda ns125 full fairing  jobbie. Cheap and with v5 !Been after a 2 stroke again for ages. This looks a state, and in many boxes ! Going to see it this afternoon.

Question is am i still going to be able to get pistons, engine gaskets and seals etc  for this.

Just hoping frame is straight and fuel tank is solid.

Wish me fortune.

You should be able to get all the parts you will need.

My Cagiva Mito was rebuilt from the ground up, engine and chassis, and everything was still available

yes, you will get all those bits no problem. and, please buy it, i want to see the rebuild process

Honda nsr125. 

V5 and frame match !

Possibly 95 % all there. All body panels knackered.

Frame seems straight / good. Tank is salvageable. Forks straight slight rust.

Deal done at £100. Including haynes manual.

Needs a full strip down and rebuild. 

No idea if  I will do it but at least i own a bike again and dining table will be put to good use.

taking bets how long before it is a project for sale on here !

At a push you can ditch the body panels. I'm sure they did a ' naked' version 🤔

Well bought though for £100.

The GS is chugging along nicely, MOT on the 10th.

Wow, a hundred quid is an absolute gift, you really cannot lose out at that. What a great buy, hats off to you.

 

 

Meanwhile, this popped up for sale so it'd sort of be rude not to whang over to Liverpool to have a look at it...

It seems to have a C90 engine which still turns over and is the reason I bought it. The lad said he was told the frame was from a BSA (possibly Bantam) but some research when I got home suggested it's from a TY50M, which had pedals ala FS1E when new. The tank is either the TY one with a Honda badge, or possibly off a Honda TL125 though the slope at the back looks more TY to my untrained eye...

Been for my first proper ride today. 

I'm getting much more confident getting the bike up/down the ramp onto the patio in the garden. Sounds like a really daft thing to be pleased about, but moving the bike under its own power without being sat on it was causing me a huge amount of stress and anxiety. As a result I was overthinking it, which made things ten times worse! But today it seemed like a doddle. What was all the fuss about!?

Really enjoyed being out on the bike and it rides really well! I'm delighted with it, and it really doesn't feel 24 years old. It feels very quick to me and sounds great. I was taking it gently, probably going slower than I would have been in the car at times!

Definitely need to keep getting out to build up my confidence/experience. On a few occasions I found myself revving the engine when using the front brake, rolling up to junctions/roundabouts at 4000rpm like a twat! And at one point I must have ridden half a mile with my indicator still going. Ended up pulling away in 2nd a couple of times too.

Can't wait to get back out on it again. I certainly need the practice!

Missis is selling her other CT90 now .

Just not going to get used now she has her new z400 and my ke175 to ride .

Im becoming dangerously close to selling the Thundercat . Got the 660 for track days and fancy something more modern / easier to ride on the local roads. 
Fancy the 22 onwards CB500x . Anyone on here have any experience of them ?

So glad you like it. Yes it can be a quick thing. I do miss it a bit but it was wasted on me.

That's all I did with it! I think I was off bikes too long to get used to the speed again, and at my age self preservation comes in very quickly 😂😂 really glad you like the bike.

The GS is perfect for my commute. I happily sit at 45 and let the world go by!!

Racing through the streets of the village of Alguena, just 25 minute up the road from me.

Two classes were 80cc two strokes, one was two stroke classics up to 200cc, and a four stroke supermoto class. 

Really miss watching two strokes race, the 80cc GP class was fast, and like the IoM, little in the way of runoffs anywhere

anyone fancy a 2014 R1200GS? i appreciate its not really autoshite fodder, but im getting bored of timewasters and idiots.

also, possibly more autoshite - my 1971 Gollner Bantam Trials. converted to 12V negative earth. great little bike, still plenty of potential for fettling and making your own. not perfect, but just managed almost 50 miles of the TET from newton abbott a couple of weekends ago.

looking for £2500, and making a decent loss at that, but im in need of clearing the decks so i can buy a more modern CRF250/300 for doing long distance trials.

I love that little trials bike, but the motorcycle shed is full at the moment.

I do respect a GS too, but can't help but think they're almost too capable to enjoy day to day - for my use case anyway.
