Plan "A" was Stony Stratford New Years Day and no alcohol, but as you say the the weather forecast is dreadful so I was having second thoughts and going to put the car away. Then Mrs6C got involved and said leave the car out, then if the weather is better than expected you can just get in and go. Well it is not far so I guess I can cope with rain and the water just falls out of the floor if it gets in!

I usually take a large in normal clothes but I went medium for this to be nice and snug

Cheaper than a pair of heated grips. As it keeps your core warm, your hands (and feet) stay warmer.

My one makes me feel warm even without it being plugged in.

Great bits of kit, surprised more riders don't have one.

Any clever solutions to a rotten fuel tank with a sizeable hole in it?

Currently looking at fitting a petcock to a metal jerry can.

It can be welded, usual precautions advised etc. 

Could also just cut out the rotten bit and JB weld a good patch in place, it will hold almost indefinitely

To be fair I had discounted welding as I thought it would be too difficult to find someone willing.

The tank has a nice look to it which I'd prefer not to spoil. The patch is on the outside so if I cut it out it would stick out like a sore thumb.

I'd get a new tank but I'd probably have to ship it over from Australia. Not many parts in the UK.

Hoping to find someone who can weld tanks. Have a FS1E DX one here that's rotten around the filler neck, so planning on finding another tank with a similar sized one and getting someone to cut it off and weld it to the Fizzy one.

Stuck the F650 impulse e’bay purchase in the back of the garage after a quick ride up the private road and back. I’ve done much better than I expected to have done buying it unseen apart from a couple of crap pics from a breaker 2 days before Christmas. Happy and have a new toy/project/money pit to keep me occupied, 

needs a few bits and a good going over but it runs and rides as it came. Tyres have been ordered as the metzeler tourances on there are nearly worn out and have a 2008 date on them, no thanks

Don't make the mistake I did and fit a Scottoiler.. chain is on the "wrong" side so the oil drips on the tyre when parked on the sidestand.  Makes the first roundabout quite interesting . Also fitted a longer rear shock, but didn't think to extend the sidestand. Thing went right over and trapped me against the garage wall.

Does the clock work? An analogue clock on a bike makes me happier than it should.

New toy. It's so much more powerful than I am used to as I have had years riding a pinky.  This thing seems like it has much less grip due to it been on or off power wise. That's in the wet weather map as well. It's a 280 racing so it has the high compression head but I test rode it against a brand new 300 and I couldn't tell the different in power even though there is 12 years difference. I would have been happy with a 250 but this came up local for the right price.

First ride of the year. Went to my wife’s tea room for coffee, about a 16 mile round trip. 
WTF is that handsome* thing I hear you all shout🤣 it’s a 2004 Kymco Miler (grand dink everywhere else) 125. It’s done 35000 miles with 2 previous giffer owners. Who says Chinese/ Korean stuff doesn’t last? For 2004 it’s got such niceties as electric folding mirrors and a light and phone charging socket under the seat. I believe it’s a Honda based water cooled engine. Certainly goes well enough for its age.

I got it around June I think, just to commute to work on. Done nearly 1000 miles on it. It’s a comfy thing.

Weirdly its got a brand new chain on it, despite being stood. I always take scottoilers off these days, make so much mess and i dont do enough miles these days to warrant one anyway.

Oh the clock was an extra (or was fitted to ST models as standard maybe (i cant remember that far back) So no clock for me.

Actually the whole when the Funduro and ST (strada) were launched is all a mess online anyway, wiki and most sites say the ST and funduro were launched at the same time, they werent I was in the dealers at the time. Also, they say the funduro models changed in 1997 to 2000 - they didnt, exactly the same E169 model as introduced in 93/4.

I do so hate deeply  imbedded inaccuracies on stuff like that
