Intriguing. How do you manage to find such information?

Not as exciting as you may be thinking I'm afraid... I searched Google Images for "OAC 917" and a whole bunch of spotted photos came up from Flickr and the like.

Off the top of my head there were photos in Bristol from '17, '18, '19, and '20, and then a photo on a Facebook page that was possibly not taken but posted in December 2021 that looks to be in the same layby as I spotted the car in.

I also put the plate into the Vehicle Smart app, which showed a V5C last being issued on 15th November 2021. This implies either a change of owner or address.

I've just come across a comment from 7 months ago on one of the Flickr posts that all but confirms the above:

"I remember this car in and around Clifton from the 1970's driven by a guy in a tweed jacket. Have not seen her in Bristol for a couple of years, and spotted her sold on eBay Nov 2021 by a dealer in Sussex for £4,000"

it had been about 10 years since I was last here, and I remember cars like this where quite prevalent back then and before (when I was young we used to visit the area quite frequently for various reasons)

so it was quite nice to see one still about as I stepped out of the train station!

(since when has no spare wheel been an advisory? LOL)

had a return appointment today, and spotted it again with a friend this time! (ill be honest I litreally did not notice the mustang until I went to grab the photograph LOL)

and also spotted a few others on an industrial estate while I was hunting for the elusive T12 fluorescent tube (could not find any but I did get a 70W CDM Metal halide lamp from the wholesaler so all was not lost)

I did make sure to get permission from the people looking after these cars to photograph them!

the Dodge caught my eye as it fittingly shares the same age related plate series as @eddyramrod's Huggy does :)

I dread to think how much these Escorts are worth! nice colours, but its shame about the the big arches, so many of these have been barry'ed in someway or another
