It's a good day for shite, kids. More spots, hiding behind a fence in Holywood.

Late Mk1 Golf 1300 is a bit of a rarity - pound to a penny this might be reappearing with GTi badges before too very long...

I'd love to know where this one's been hiding for the past 27 years.

[Edit - probably just been in Northern Ireland but not taxed or MOT'd during the last five years, so not quite such a dramatic discovery, mebbe...]

Spectacularly lazy due to these not even being my spots but actually those of my other half. The Golf and the ZX are both dizzlers.

Obviously the Moggie isn't a Diesel.

Look at the state of this poor old ruin. Hasn't moved in the ten years I've known about it.

Daft & spurious.

Hot double Mk. 2 action. Future may well involve armco.

And a double bill of forgotten eighties car-based light commercials.

Citroen Hydropneumatic envy?

I think it's a sort of "display" (in the behavioural sense).

Pretty much every other sort of display using vehicles has been outlawed: speed, loud exhausts, flames and smoke, driving like a tit, etc. All prohibited.

Anyone can lease a new shiny thing. So what?

So just crawling around in an eccentric old vehicle, dragging your arse on the road, is left, if being different and getting noticed is what you think you want.........

It's a fad I suppose, like Starsky and Hutch stripes in 1978 or union flags on mini roofs in 1990. And probably a protest about how joyless modern cars are.

Does a more universally useful and competent car exist than an old ZX?

I think that is a Morris Marshal. An Australian version of the Austin Westminster. Wikipedia says:

"Production totalled 1,341 sedans, 54 Traveller wagons and 30 panel vans."

A panel van version!  Any survive??

A few from yesterday:

A new Jimny looking fantastic amongst all the tedious grey/silver boxes. I’ve only seen this one so far, but am looking forward to seeing a yellow one.

Also looking pretty sharp was this Hyundai Kona. The electric one of these has become a dream car of late (takes all sorts...)

A US spec Camry on a Q plate. I love the Camry, so was happy to see one of these here.

And the hero of the tale. My brother sent me this saying “your website will like this”. He reckons it was straight piped. Lovely thing.

Some dull old rubbish by comparison, I shouldn't like that Ferrari replica half as much as I do.. post-26064-0-97483600-1554931195_thumb.jpg

Ditto. There were four of these and a 100E but the guy seems to be cutting down.

Nice day to give the Escort some love.

post-26064-0-00620400-1554931428_thumb.jpg

Now I know this is a shit photo so you'll just have to believe me that this is a Lagonda 3-litre. It's not evident here but it's sitting nose-up so I suspect it's been engine-bummed for an Aston of some sort leaving essentially a worthless decaying carcass. Call me a cynic if you want but I reckon the next time this moves it'll be Pinto or Cologne-powered.

post-26064-0-31297500-1554931736_thumb.jpg

And to finish, I don't really like convertibles or white cars in general. But it's a fine example of how slotmags make many things better.

The Fiat is a recent arrival up the road from me, it means they have to park their Daf 33 on the street. They ought to be on here, really.

Here is something a bit special, a Mercedes Benz 450SEL Estate.

Here is my rubbish photo:

And some library pictures from the web:

I had a quick chat with the owner, it is a Crayford conversion using the arse end of a Ford Granada. He has put quite a bit of work into it to get it back on the road, but it is majority original.

Not the sort of thing you would expect to find on a quiet residential street in Nowra, I was only there to use the post box!
