Some random nonsense...

Old Saab for sale at £2650, if anyone's interested.

Not sure if it started out Pogweasel Pink, and somebody threw rust and silicon/blood/jizz at it; or it started out red, turned to Pogweasel Pink, and some gonk misinterpreted the expression 'stickerbomb'. You decide.

MG Monty Go. Except it didn't really. Of all the things to find slowing you up, when you're in a hurry, this wouldn't be an obvious one.

But there we are,

Yours sincerely,

Apparently its a Daihatsu M20 with a fibreglass body made in Preston.

Its certainly shite been off the road since 04

Interesting, any more gen on that? I've certainly never heard of that contraption. Would be interesting to think it was lashed together by some out-of-work ex-Bond employees with GRP skillz. There must have been a huge amount of unemployed fibreglass wizards floating about Preston in the 1970s.

Sorry, no more information I'm afraid, although the bloke thinks its time he got rid of it...

Quality thread, don't know how I missed it before.

This would have been a Sunday morning 'walk off the ale' job. So half pissed, half arsed with half focused camera phone.

It's a late model Ford Orion.

I imagine there's a shit load of BMW's like that in Fife because of all the OMGDRIFT Jumanji nights stuff that goes on in Crail.

Gr57 thread, I too have bee trying to accumulate enough photos for a thread but never really got enough to make it worthwhile.

Here's my favourite:

5329610401_3e939a9d13_z.jpg

This is the driveway of a suitably abandoned looking house in an upmarket street near where I work, I often walk past when out for a lunchtime wander and muse over what the story with it is.

The Marina Coop is on a dateless plate which the DVLA are showing as still assigned to the car and last taxed in 1987. The Metro looks to be a VDP model with lovely brown leather and original dealer stickers in the windows. There's also what looks to be an A-series lump sitting in the drive half under a tarp behind the metro. Would love to know what's in the garage!

To add to the mystery I've on 2 or 3 occasions seen another early Metro (also gold) parked on the street outside but no signs of life in the house, and the boundary hedge is always immaculately trimmed while the rest of the garden is extremely over grown. Perhaps it's just a neighbour who doesn't want the place to look too scruffy but I'd love to think that there is actually some hermit living there, or perhaps a ghost!

[edit] that photo was taken last winter, I took a wander past again today and there would appear to be what looks like another metro behind that one under a green tarp which I don't recall being there before - the plot thickens...

This is interesting, the Marina looks very clean seeing as it was last on the road in 1987. Are you tempted to sneak a peak in the garage, a good chance there's an interesting old motor in there. Next to the green door (sings oh the green door) is that another garage with no door (or half a red one)? if not what is it? Keep us informed on this story, I love things like this.

Would love to know where in the country this is? Have seen some pics on FlickR of the Marina and its wearing some rather interesting non standard wheels..

A jolly down to London at the company's expense over the weekend gave me the chance to snap these beauties around Waterloo/the south bank area. The DS was very unloved looking - the roof was slowly turning from white to green.

A late BX in front of the DS?

Also, have you any other angles on that Polo? I spotted one with a similarly panned door, in Skipton last month.

This was in the Morrisons car park in Johnstone near my work. I spotted it a couple of days later being piloted by an old boy in a woolly hat.

Very tempting to have a peak inside the garage, I doubt it would be hard to do but it is in quite an upmarket area and I'm a scardy cat!

Next to the green door is a wall with a window in it, blacked out though so can't see through, looks like it's a double width garage but with a single door.

Yes the wheels on the Marina do seem non-standard, they're steel but appear to be wider than normal, like Mk1 Cooper S reverse rims but bigger.

Would be interested to see these other photos on FlickR if you have links - location is Edinburgh btw.

Marina is interesting in other ways. I womder if the car is not to a uk car or at least not new to the uk. Tis a mk3 id imagine but doesnt have the driving lamps in the front grill. Coluld it be an import from Malta perhaps?? I am assuming it is right hand drive. If said car isnt a uk car then perhaps its wheels are standard from where were ever said car was new too. Mk3 coupes aint that common. Grill looks like it is from a mk2 but bumper is definately mk3 so how come, has some one removed the front driving lamps and if so why? Could be interesting finding oot the story behind the cars if it is possiable that is.

 WTF?!

IMAG2857.jpg

I have absolutely no idea. Do I spy Mini screen and door handles?

This week I saw a new Skoda Rapid when I was driving. Didn't know such a thing existed. It looked like a tiny Octavia. Can't see them selling many unless they're VERY cheap.

It's probably a Fabia + boot.

It did, I have a photo of it from about 2007 somewhere with numberplate still attached, it'd been there since 1996.  Wish I'd seen it being moved, can't imagine it all went in one piece!

The slightly rusty Anglia's in the shed to the right of this photo, everything's been there a long, long time and is inches from the sea so not much metal will have survived!  The house is amazing and the subject of generations of often rather daft speculation, it's in a very prominent spot and perilously close to the cliff edge - the garden wall's already fallen in, the house will probably follow in a few decades.

Thread necromancy.  Just got back my old laptop from being out on loan with all my photos on it, found the old Allegro as of 2004, even then, 8 years sat by the sea had not been kind:
