Volksy Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Ooh, that looks like an early XS! holbeck 1
NorfolkNWeigh Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 I do like to see a ‘ normal’ car towing , seems anything bigger than a camping trailer necessities a Land Cruiser , these days.

I don't really care but that must be right at the weight limit for that Passat.

It’s a Superb , which can tow 2200kg . A 1977 W123 200 weighs 1480kg , so depending on the weight of the trailer, say 550/600 kg. Should be OK , I’d rather tow with that than some faux 4x4 softroader like a Freelander or Qashqai. We had a 2.2 Freelander 2 and it wobbled around with an MX5 on a tilt bed Brian James, next time I moved it I used my Chrysler 300C , didn’t know it was there. Both had 2 tonne capability in theory.

CaptainBoom Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Spotted in a local village (Knockholt). Here's an ugly blue Ford... next to a much more exciting blue Ford... I think we may have two Ford lickers living next to one another as the next picture shows... I'm not good on my older Blue Oval stuff, is that a Zephyr MK2? If so, I don't think Brian Blessed will be getting out of that. Trust me, the path was very tempting to head down to get a better picture. Then there was this, the other side of the hedge in front of the same house,.,. And finally, my errand done and I was heading back to my car, this pulled up outside the village shop. The old feller driving it popped out to get a newspaper, then hopped in again all done as if he regularly did this every Saturday morning. Austin 7? Looking incredibly small next to the Lexus thingy, in about 50 yards I had an absolute treat. 12/10 will definitely come back to Knockholt for more driveway ornaments/stuff from another age etc. danthecapriman, spartacus, adw1977 and 5 others 8

quicksilver Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 As un-shite as it's possible to get but how's this for an in the wild spot? A 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS with a distinguished motorsport history, which was auctioned in 2016 with an estimate of £1.2 to 1.8 million! I assume it came from Bicester Heritage but it's surprising to see such a rare and valuable car on an ordinary open trailer. Google the reg UU 9125 for more on its history. Yoss, CaptainBoom, SteersWithThrottle and 2 others 5
Zelandeth Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Very nice...if it was mine it would have been being driven rather than trailered though! Assuming it wasn't on the way to have some fault rectified anyway. Worth that much or not, I'd still drive it - carefully and making sure I had a very good insurance policy in place! LightBulbFun 1
Yoss Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Bournemouth reg too, so it's probably been local all its life. Mr Laurence 1

spartacus Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Phoar! The better looking sister of the Alfa Brera. I would usually say an Alfa should be red, but I'll make an exception here, I'm not entirely convinced by those wheels though.
Borsuq Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 I've seen 2 FSO Matizes today. ? One in a museum, one in the wild. They're exceptionally rare compared to a regular Daewoo Matiz. Here's the one being currently exhibited at FSO: And yes, that is a Daewoo Chairman behind it. Also saw this: O_o GeordieInExile, Austat, Dick Cheeseburger and 5 others 2 4 2

spartacus Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Having owned what I believe to be the 'best' of the available engines in a van based Talbot camper, I can say with some authority, that must be dire to drive, very slow and very, very, thirsty.

High Jetter Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 I've always thought 'Talbot Express' to be an oxymoron. How fast is that?

MiniMort Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 Time for some more spots from the Lake District: Starting with a Morris Minor 1000. Look how tiny it is compared to the C1! A Jaaaaaaag in a Rover 100 colour A pretty late MG ZR A buggered bug. I love how the rear wings are inside the car. Nice touch A Type 2 without headlamps. Digging the 70s alloys tho A Figaro in typically Figaro green A pretty late MG Midget. I believe all of the last run was in this black. An XR2 thats so famous it has its own Facebook page. Actually got to briefly speak to the proud owner too! And finally, some proper shite. A 1986 Toyota Corolla Executive - one of TWO still on the road! Austat, motorpunk, davocano and 8 others 11
