Okay, Morris Minors don't generate that much interest normally, they are probably the most common car of their era but this is different.

How many are still working for a living? But just look at it. Zoom in and take in all the details. It's perfect.

I did wonder that but i didn't venture too near the car as it had a fearsome dog in it and i didn't know how far away the owner was!

Spotting highlights of this week were both Saabs. The 900 Turbo on 162,000 miles at last MOT, and the 99 on 185,000. Testament to the quality of that Saab block.

An acquaintance of mine sent me the following spot this morning for your consideration:

IMG-20200514-WA0003.thumb.jpg.d0f62fac4a6d476478a5f144ef6ddaf8.jpg

with the comment:

"He spends 90% of his time polishing it, but it still leaks oil and fails to start."

I am uncertain as to which shite he refers to....

I'm afraid I'm calling fauxtina on that one. Still good to see one working, though

Sorry, rubbish photo as it was about half a mile away.

Hard to believe how rare it is to see a Saxo these days.  Seemed like yesterday that they were utterly everywhere.

I imagine plenty of chavvy boy racers have driven them into ditches & trees over the years.

What's more Autoshite than a slightly scruffy Xsara Picasso?

IMG_20200515_183048.thumb.jpg.c83721cc9be18fc976fb38efe9ca6f4c.jpg

Still has to be one of the most cleverly thought out and practical cars out there.  While they won't win any awards for being exciting, there are very few real world tasks that they can't do with ease.

Also spotted a T plate Xantia HDi today I don't recall seeing before, but was driving so don't have a photo.

Edit:

Okay, in answer to my own question maybe?  Is this even more Autoshite than the Picasso?

Sorry for the less than stellar photo, shooting more or less straight into the sun.

Spotted in Wickes car park earlier. A Midas, I really wanted one of these when I was in my early teens, although it was the model before this. I'd still like one now, this ticks a lot of boxes, easy to maintain, cheap to run, small, light, reasonably quick.

Damn, I've nearly talked myself into one!

Edited because I initially got the make wrong! Doh!

I spotted this gem while out getting supplies. Artful use of clingfilm and tape on this knacker... He's got to have his fingers crossed for the 6 month MOT extension!

Although, it's still doing better than my MX-5 ?

Hugging the hard shoulder, and doing no more than 50, I think he was experiencing some electrical problems, going by the very weak indicators.

Spotted in my local Sainsbury's recently. Been there some time and seems to have been abandoned.

It didn't have the dent, hanging bumper or partly missing exhaust (not visible in this pic) when I saw it back in January.IMG_20200514_163518659.jpg

They very definitely exist, and are an indication of Japan's obsession with the words "Gran" or "Grand". See also "Grandis".

Spotted some 80's Japanese chod on a walk yesterday;

Mazda 323 (BD) 1.5, presumably owned by a pensioner:
