Sweet. I restored a 1296cc HC in the late nineties, and nearly lost momentum because I developed the major horn for a Magnum. In short, you have the car I should have bought. Very nice, very jealous.

Kin 'ell, a Magnum droop snoot

Well done lad!

SPORTS HATCH. Wonderful stuff. :D

Stick a Sprite Alpine behind it. COZ YOU HAVE THE FACILITY. Winner 8)8)8)8)

A Sports Hatch, superb!

I remember when I was about 10 there was one of these parked outside my pal's house, I thought it looked the mutt's nuts. 8)

Exactly; pretty much what everyone just said. Colour me jealous!

Phwoor!

Thats abit of alright, isn't it?! Nice work, top shiteage.

Oh dear God, that's just absolutely awesome. Loved these when I first clapped eyes on one years back and they've got better with age. Can't wait to see it in the flesh, is it legal and ready to roll?

Posted

The colour is awesome. Yeah she's all legal and on the road but has hardly been used in 4 years so has lots of little niggles that I've had sorted and I'll be going to pick it up from the garage later today. It's amazing the reaction you get from people when driving it.

Primo primola primastico Campion del Mondo Shiteo! For this I am having the likeage.

You've climbed a mountain and firmly planted your flag there, guv'nor. A seriously high benchmark of 'Shite' acquisition.

Forgive the pastiche...

"A Fastback Vauxhall...a lone crusader in a dangerous world...the world of the Shite Rider"

You just know a PO has paid tribute to 'The Hoff'.

WOW! every time i look at the pics it just gets better- the graphics, the seats, the sunroof, even the V Power labelled battery! bet this turns a few heads, :D

They are so unbelievably hideous they could only ever have built in the 1970s. They are fantastic. How many of these actually survive?

Posted

Cant wait to have a go in that old beast!

A damn good addition to the autoshite stand at Cholmondley next year!

Pliz more pix of the interior pliz. Goddabeloving tartan upholstery. I once nearly bought a Lancia Montecarlo, that was probably a bag o' shite-o-la, because I was seduced by the tartan seats.

Posted

I bloody love these. They look like some 70s concept that accidentally made it into production. 8)

 I think that's actually what happened...
Posted

It's not that outlandish. Much the same car, minus the nosecone and colour scheme, was part of the mainstream Viva/Magnum range for most of the 70s.

I always wanted one though, I had to make do with my 1300 L estate.

This car is seriously cool, so cool it could freeze penguin piss in fact, I love it!

Posted

Thats the bollox,i could have bought one in the late 80s for £150 but turned it down cos of some rot in the sills, sort of regret it now but things were very different then.I think the colour is called, extra dark wine.

Get this to Cholmondeley and it might spur Mike the guy who always brings the silver droopsnoot Firenza to get his Sports Hatch finished.

I also met a guy from Crewe last weekend who is also halfway through a Sports Hatch project. He was at a show in Frodsham with his FE Victor.

Be nice to see 3 of them lined up together :D:D
