A good jumping off point is that in on the 1st of October 1974, every single registration series in England Wales and Scotland, reset to Gxx-N

I'd never thought about that before.

My Escort estate was ULH 552R for example - but another I bought was BOO***T, quite a lot of BOO and COO regs around here in the late 70s

At my first job in 1994 there was a woman who worked there pushing retirement age (also knew my dad from childhood). She drove a very tidy vermillion coloured W or X reg Princess. I wish I could recall the registration. Don't know what happened to the car.

JOG125N 1975 Austin 1800. Tax expired August 1984.

On loan from BL at the time I assume?

MOC...P was a Birmingham issue of March 1976, which had several BL press cars registered in it.

Cowley's SD1 from the early episodes of the Professionals was MOC229P, but had the plates retouched to MOO229R.

I was also used in some episodes of the New Avengers & Return Of The Saint.

250 notes? That's silly cheap.

Worth picking up that, sure it’d break for more than that if it turned out it had fist sized holes in the floor. Looks solid enough though.

As ever it’ll probably end up getting raced as they’ll turn up with money in their hand whilst the ‘enthusiast’ is dithering over a missed oil change in 1983.

Worth picking up that,

I tried first thing this morning.  Said he could have already sold it 10 times over (unsurprisingly) and that someone was due to be collecting it this afternoon.

I thought Purdey's TR7 was a MOC-P car but I was wrong.  However, this unexpectedly turned up.  Slight mix up in my brain filing cabinet since 1977.

Another pic of the one from the Classic Car Scrapyard Finds group on Facebook. Owner unknown apparently

On my Facebook feed earlier today appeared a late X reg Princess in yellow with black bits. Looked as cool as flip. B) I think it on a group called 18-22 series or something. (?)

Iirc a 2000 ST (for Special Tuning). Was this an actual BL approved spec or just something that the owner invented? I didn’t think they had the 2000 engine but quite likely a transplant from another car. It did make me ponder...

Another apparently new one (as ever correct me if I'm wrong!) and it's a spot from the half-sister facebook group, so I'll leave the credit there. :-) WRW194X

No - that’s the snapdragon yellow car that the owner has modified to resemble his take on what a Special Tuning Princess would have been in terms of spec. Does look tasty.

ST was one of BL's own tuning kits, although a sporting Princess variant was a one-off:  see the  SP wing decal on the cover of the BL group dealer salesmen's magazine for April 1980

This one on page 5 still lives in Holland.  It was on C&C for sale a couple of years back, went unsold AFAIK

Keith Adams did a feature https://www.aronline.co.uk/news/marketplace/torcars-princess-on-sale-in-holland/

The Dutch club have it listed as having a current APK (MoT)   https://www.amrwr.nl/?page_id=1159

It's probably still in that garage

Hoorah!  I hope you enjoy it.

I'm chronically short of time at the moment so the Wedgister is very neglected and out of date.  I will update it eventually, I just need to magic some time from somewhere.

iirc these wedges were one of the best towcars at the time.........along with the big Citroens.

I remember my Aunt & Uncle once borrowed an Ambassador & caravan for a camping holiday.

300 series Volvos & Mk3 Ford Granada 4X4s were good tow cars thanks to the transmissions.

RVJ 666S was up on the "Shite cars for sale“ facebook site. Now sold. Beige with quad round headlamps. (Morris?)
