Just rang Corgi Club and skipping of the Lotus and LR has been actioned.  Good idea really as I was going to cancel the lot but this means I still stay a subscriber so no loss of customer for them.  Yet.  So next one should be the Mustang according to the website.  Never owned one of those, so seems sensible* to pick and choose

Ended up walking out of there almost £20 lighter.  FFS.

Won't be going along to the pub this evening now.

That's all right, neither will I!  We can stay in and admire our collections instead.

Which, the Sterling or the 944 ? The boxes are not perfect on either but the models themselves look as if they are.

Its in a warehouse next to the mechanic I use , so I’m bound to end up passing soon!

That would explain a lack of new Hot Wheels everywhere. Checked out two Entertainers, a Tesco and The Range today and found naff all except older releases in Entertainer.

Sorry, I should have been less cryptic! Yeah, I'll take both if the models within are unmarked; not worried if the boxes are tatty but I'll not bother if the models themselves are scruffy. I never had the 944 as a kid *rubs eyes and sobs*, and as an 800 owner, it's CRIMINAL that I don't have the Matchbox of it.

If it's at all inconvenient, though – once postage is factored in – please don't take the trouble. Cheers!

...which means there was a wait since August for the Corgi Model Club Ford Mustang Fastback 2+2

20211013_164339835_iOS.thumb.jpg.43964db7b3ddc6c847b530ac3eaffa0b.jpg

Since the photo earlier, it was left in the box all afternoon, because: 1) supposed to be working, 2) was a bit worried it may disappoint

20211013_164440633_iOS.thumb.jpg.f324881cac63bc99818a3c893ac06125.jpg

But no!  Quite cheered-up by it to be fair!  So for the £23.98 posted, it still seems fair too, for a low-volume reproduction that is.  Also seeing the re-sold listings on eBay hitting £60 helps too.

20211013_164356442_iOS.thumb.jpg.f85c51ecbe768f27f6b9eaee5325b2db.jpg

Never had one of these as a boy, or through the teenage US car interest years, nor even today - I can't think I've ever held one.

20211013_164350072_iOS.thumb.jpg.a90cc43c43bbf2a60f5ff100ec03e519.jpg

It's smaller in the flesh than I expected.  For some reason it was in my head as similar to the Corgi Mach 1 Mustang from a few years later.

20211013_164402913_iOS.thumb.jpg.ced489550630b52cdcd6e03359b3d23d.jpg

It's also got a paint defect* which translates into: 1) it'll polish off, 2) it's worth £££ by being rarer 😎

The gawkyness is duplicated well it seems, especially the front end view.  Well, it is a copy.  Can also see the low roof line that is familiar from the Organ Donor Corgi Mustang dragway car.  Will need to do a compare.

Hi All!

Just a query - if anyone has any older 1/43 stuff they're thinking of selling, would they let me know what they have?

I'm getting a package sorted out to ship to NZ, with a service that combines packages into one box, so now seems to be as good a time as ever to add a few things in and make the most of the shipping!

So yeah, any  Corgi, Dinky, Spot-On, Schuco, Gama, Norev (including plastics), USSR/Novoexport, Joal, etc. manufactured up to the 1990's and I'm all ears. Not worried in the slightest about mint/boxed but bits not missing would be a bonus!

And also any Siku pre-1990 is of interest, although I have a fair wodge sitting in the UK.

Anyway, a big ask but if there's anywhere worth sourcing stuff from, it's here!

With any luck, the postie should be winging a Mustang in this general direction before long...

Never aware of these Max Wax versions either - and if I'd seen one, I doubt I'd have clocked it as a Corgi item. Most peculiar.

There are a few others, mostly yellow - they have a copyright date of 1998 on the box. Amazing for a 1965 casting

I seem to remember the Early Learning Centre stocking those squidgy rubbery cars, years ago... just a big container of all different designs, sold loose.

Hadn't thought about them for years, but seeing the Escort there gave me quite a rush...

Don't think I ever owned any of them - I probably would have found them 'not realistic enough', snobby little get that I was - but that's deffo worth 50p of anyone's money. The tiny oval Ford badge on the bootlid is a nice touch.

For some reason I'm also getting memories of a Mk1 Golf in the same range, and possibly a Beetle too.

In Tesco news, Matchbox UK Collection long cards have also touched down locally, at £2 a throw.
