MiniMort Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 Can I do a slightly late tat Friday? I went back to the shop in Nottingham and got these three from the £1 car bin. Unlike the Acclaim I got there, these three aren't in bad order at all. OK, the Astras paint job is terrible but I want to make that stock so I'll respray it anyway. Still, for £3 I'm pleased with my little haul! andrew e, Remspoor, warch and 4 others 7

It became a Corgi Juniors/Whizzwheels Which then became this Husky was the name for smaller scale cars, with Corgi the larger ones. They decided to drop the Husky name and just have Corgi/Corgi Juniors eddyramrod, MiniMort and AndyW201 3

Weird to see it with a front engine as well as the rear - maybe it's 4WD like a 2CV Sahara.

AndyW201 Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 Lovely post lady has just called! Not really got hold of any EVs, but I do like these little Hondas. Nice to see one that isn't covered in estate agent graphics... Nicely done, this one. Makes a nice compare & contrast with the recent Hot Wheels N600. And a Hot Wheels interloper. Just got this one to fill the box, as I've been searching high and low for this one locally. It seemed to be in high demand among the scalpers when it came out. Liking the deep-dish slotmag style rims on this one. bunglebus, andrew e, Datsuncog and 1 other 4
bunglebus Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 Here's something I've been working on for a little while - a 1:64 Gus's Gulper Black Square Decals were kind enough to interpret my strange request as a set of correct size waterslides Datsuncog, Spottedlaurel, bicycle repairman and 5 others 8
bunglebus Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 I also noticed this buggy among a load of tat. No idea who made this one *edit* Joy City copy of Hot Wheels andrew e, eddyramrod and AndyW201 3

(Ana's Hot Wheels for sale UK). As you mentioned on Sunday, these are from a case that seems to have been missed in the UK, so it seems to be the only way of getting them. Yeah they cost more than Tesco's prices but I just offset that against time and fuel traipsing around shops and finding nothing! Still shitloads cheaper than eBay sellers too... bunglebus 1

RoadworkUK Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 The enormous wheelarches on that Sierra Cossie make me a bit sad.
sierraman Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 Britain’s Farm Tat seems to be going for some good coin at the moment. I had quite a bit of this when I was a kid but it used to be really susceptible to sunlight and brittle plastic. The Rice horsebox I had literally fell to bits after a few years in my window. warch 1
sheffcortinacentre Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 Can't seem to find matchbox or hot wheels here of any kind????

Tesco at Dinnington has them, they restock on a Saturday. The Tesco at the Wicker is shit. The Chesterfield one is usually stocked well, if there’s something specific give us a shout and I’ll keep an eye out.
sheffcortinacentre Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 Cheers no just in general can't seem to find any??

RoadworkUK Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 A few weeks ago, a quite excellent parcel arrived from Norn Iron. One of these days I'll take pics of the contents. Not today, though. Today I took my new Lada Samara for a spin in the countryside. Cheers @Datsuncog. RayMK, AndyW201, andrew e and 9 others 12

It does. It wasn't the most robust stuff at the outset, the tractor cabs were plastic and pretty to scale and never withstood much hard play (aftermarket replacements are available though). You also get plastic degradation, especially wheel melt on some vehicles. Luckily the only example I have of this thus far is on the relatively cheap and easy to find Massey Ferguson seed drill. I usually buy my Britains stuff broken and mend it myself using aftermarket parts.
bunglebus Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 I had an hour today to rush around Romford looking for toy cars. Managed to check 8 shops, both Entertainers being closed on Sunday. Found naff all except this Jada Nano set which was way too expensive but will allow me to line up all the F+F MK1 Escorts in size order
Split_Pin Posted October 11, 2021 Author Posted October 11, 2021 I have REALLY wanted one of these launch model Cavaliers since getting my first one in February but they were all north of £30. Far too much for one of these crude Gama efforts. This one had no bids at £9.99 so for £14.19 posted it was mine. It arrived today, shame about the non disclosed crack in the windscreen but I still love it. Apt Autoshite slogan as well. Amishtat, Tenmil Socket, bunglebus and 7 others 10
TheOtherStu Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 A heads up. Bicester Sunday Scramble has a slightly new format. Part of it is that the main hangar is no longer auction and cars for sale, but it's setup as an Autojumble. As such, there were sellers of exotic miniature shite. Some of it was pricey, but some of it, not so much.
bunglebus Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 My mind is starting to play tricks on me. After getting the knackered police Peterbilt recovery truck recently, I found this one locally - and now I cannot for the life of me remember which version I had as a kid! This one does not have the working steering I remember from my original, guess this was dropped for cost reasons? Everything else works though andrew e, RoadworkUK and D.E 3
bunglebus Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 I also opened the Jada Nano Escort, and the others for a lineup. The 1:36 hadn't been opened before. I don't think Jada do a 1:64 so that's the Mattel but not Hot Wheels version Datsuncog, Justwatching, D.E and 5 others 8

Everything else works though That's a K-20 Peterbilt you have there, only produced in the green and white, available between 1979 and 1985. A police-livery version was made from 1986 on, in Macau, and replaced the green and white K-20. It was renumbered as K-121, and came with the working steering you remember - highlighted as a 'new feature' in the '86 Matchbox catalogue. Was yours the peelermobile special? My own childhood version with this feature dates from the late 80s (Woolworths buy with Christmas money) - I'm not sure how long it remained in the range, but it's still listed in the 1990 catalogue, though not in the 1993 one. It's a rare occurrence where features were added during Matchbox's Universal era, rather than deleted... RoadworkUK, bunglebus, andrew e and 4 others 6 1
