Is that what the blue and white thing is?

Yep, it's a Base Toys Phase 3 Vanguard. There's a real one in dollywobbler's latest video from the British Car Museum.

Not worried about the Lesney if Egg wants it

No, happy for you  to take it @bunglebus, easier if it just goes in a package with the rest you're having. I can find another of those easily enough :-)

Honestly I'm happy with the ones I've named, I don't collect early Lesney stuff anyway, and others have mentioned ones they'd like.

The white one identified by a ? is an Austin A40 Farina.

I checked my MIB version, it has 13 same as your top one, but with black exhausts. My Schiffer book lists most variants as having 13 louvres.

What's with the smooth roof on the second one?

My Beach Hopper looks to be a 12-er, but my eyesight isn't great......

Daaah, sorry - it was an item for @RoadworkUK, my mistake!

I've got it down on the spreadsheet correctly, dunno what I was thinking there.

Possibly getting muddled, as I found this article last night in an old copy of Collector's Gazette, and was thinking of your Impy Foden:

20200214_081748.thumb.jpg.7383b2540cdfce83dc28a132d875d2a6.jpg

20200214_081947.thumb.jpg.a383c161729f111604bb63cbd88ca9ac.jpg

The quote "they are based on model trucks long out of production" makes me think that Marquis Models pretty much took a direct casting imprint from the Impy Foden and Budgie Leyland cabs.

I'd always wondered where that Foden had come from, and in 00 scale too!

Pretty much everything Marquis did appears to be based on old toys with some degree of modification. They also did this recovery body, clearly derived from the Matchbox Ford heavy wrecker and adapted to fit EFE tractor units:

And this Ergomatic cab, apparently from a modified Lone Star fire engine:

Marquis is one of three cottage industry firms I know of to have copied the Lone Star Foden cab. Road Transport Images list it and this one is a Roadscale Models kit:

Anyway, I guess it's time to settle up. Let me know how much I owe you and I'll sort that out ASAP.

Ding dong! Mail call! More GM shite arrives at Mini-Cavcraft towers.

This is one I've been wanting for a long while. I've seen the official Ixo branded version (silver) and there seems to be two partwork versions, in white, and this black one. I recently missed out on the Ixo version for £17 on eBay and kicked myself for it as they rarely appear for less than the £30 mark, whether partwork or not. So when I saw this for less than £7 from a French seller with £6 postage.. Oui, Merci beaucoup!

IMG_20200215_202726.thumb.jpg.adb1f2f2b6857ae73d0386d3b5184ac2.jpg

For a partwork, the packaging isn't bad. A nice card background inside the clear case, with a facts & figures card on the back (reminds me of the underneath of 70s and 80s Siku cars).

IMG_20200215_200603.thumb.jpg.a6bad5200097d4b7adb271410747f222.jpg

Nice plinth as well,

IMG_20200215_200844.thumb.jpg.b1de50dc836f51ab7a2f8766d78e6456.jpg

The model itself is a good 'un, nicely detailed headlights, and grille with GTE logo. Liking the Manta style door mirrors too,

IMG_20200215_202352.thumb.jpg.95274acd626dcb437a1e1f9d31ed19b1.jpg

Paint is nice and shiny, the shape is absolutely bob-on and oh, those wheels make it don't they?

IMG_20200215_202323.thumb.jpg.90808ee7b9811a76dba52ede457b7505.jpg

Interior is well done, check out those Recaros,

IMG_20200215_202432.thumb.jpg.8bfd0d5b992cc667e52f85a515ff5f86.jpg

The rear end is just as good, I like the rear screen elements, nice tail lights and, though the potato cam pics don't show it well, the GTE logo on the boot even has the tiny 'fuel injection' lettering in red underneath,

IMG_20200215_202752.thumb.jpg.d592a81ccc682ab40ed6d0f1af9f48c5.jpg

Sadly, it is going to have to stay on the plinth for now, as underneath we have the Ixo curse,

That's ok, guessed as much so I'll take it back

I was hoping you'd do some sort of swap on a surplus yellow 8-Crate

Ebay only serves to prove how expensive some Matchbox stuff is. On the look out for an Escort RS Cosworth but some of the prices on there leave a lot to be desired!

Nice model! Is the drivers window supposed to be missing?

I believe so. I think it's meant to represent an open window to show off the interior detail.

Post lady has been!

Finally got a Gus's Gulper for a couple of quid.  Dolly and Ken love it, as it goes with their Milligan's Mill

Not only that, the Commuter Dragster was thrown in by the seller as a gift :)

The others were 50p in local charity shop - I couldn't believe my eyes on the Pi-Eyed Piper, so gave them a rounded £2 for the three (as guilt kicked in)

Also went into Smyths and saw this Mattel 'Fast & Furious' Escort.  At first I though it was a repackage - but no!  It's a completely different casting to the typical HW one!   What are Mattel up to?

Was so excited I fished out my old Corgi Escort (that I took to bits c.1990 and never put back together) to compare.  It didn't realise that both A-pillars are knacked.  Anyone got a better body?  Corgi Escort body, I mean.

Made a start on the R14 kit today.  Dry fit highlighted problems with it immediately, namely the state of the roof which is going to need a fair bit of work to smooth out nicely once the two halves of the body are glued together.  The only location pins that actually fit the holes are the ones for the front seats, all the others the pins are too long and too thick.  However, this is balanced out by it having minimal flashing and the fitment not being appalling for what is, realistically, a very basic little kit. With some effort, it should turn out nice.  No glazing either, though I imagine that's standard fare for what this is so I'm okay with that.

I'll probably go pale metallic green, maroon, or bright yellow for the final colour, with a beige or brown interior.

Popped into my local B&M and fished this out of the basket O' Hotwheels (along with the lovely Gulf GT40). Apart from the brown wheels this is awesome, never seen a Subaru pickup in miniature form before....

They did have a spare 850 estate too.
