Yes can confirm Bentley Mk.VI ‘standard steel’ saloon, 1946-52. The first complete Bentley from the factory, having the body supplied by Pressed Steel, with build completed alongside its RR Silver Dawn sister at Crewe. 4000 built. Apparently, Pressed Steel were unhappy that the unit contract was so small!

Found a very cheap (under a tenner delivered) Oxford Diecast 1:43 scale Landrover in British Railways livery to go with my Scammell Scarab. It’s a lovely model (I have the same model in 1:76).

I've got the originals of the Starlet and RX-3, and I have to say those Not Wheels versions (or dupes as my teenage offspring would probably call them) aren't actually that terrible looking, nor the Lagermeister 911. That DTM C Class though 🤣

😅😅😅😅 I just love the absolute blatant cheek of them and actually in hand are actually better than their Temu advert suggested. I couldn't make out whether the Mercedes-Benz was a C Class or older 190E.

A recent find by my other half who was in Bristol just before the bank holiday for a funeral, naturally she fitted in a spare hour to have a wander around the local charity shops in Westbury and found this, its only the third one i've seen and the best one i've seen as the other one i had was trashed!

Yeah, the prices are a bit daft tbh, i've got some good ones for fairly reasonable prices at toy fairs over the years, the Tekno ones are extremely daft now, most of mine were bought years ago when they were a bit cheaper!

Back home for a short while, having been in Reading. Found another Hot Ones in Tesco on the way up

I'd like the rest of the set, especially the VW T2 if anyone spots them.

Entertainer in Reading High St had one new Car Culture twin pack

Visited Smyths on the way out, got there just before 9 and had several middle aged men breathing down my neck, hoping to beat me to the Hot Wheels. I found what I wanted while they went off and pestered the staff, not sure if they were looking for chase cars or the new F1 premiums that are about.

The other twin pack was on the pegs

I got these three in the same haul as the Bentley that @ETCHY very kindly identified for me, for the same price. As previously mentioned I rather love the Oxford Diecast range, they're not cheap at rrp but by and large they make accurate and interesting models of quite a wide range of vehicles, plus the railway scale ones don't take up any room.

Because they're at a constant scale (not fit the box) the Austin 7 is absolute teeny and cute as buttons (Fun fact, the first BMW car was a license built Austin 7).

I love the Morris J van, mainly because Corgi did a model of it in their classics range and its one of those vehicles with a really appealing shape (like the Commer van).

I like Transit vans, having driven most of the later versions for work. I can remember having a swb semi high roof one when the third edition facelift version came out (although I preferred the floor change model that preceded it). This one even has realistic naff wheel trims (which I always think look silly on commercial vehicles).

(BTW I am aware that my laptop is in a horrible state)

Seems like the UK is suffering from a bit of a Matchbox lull at the moment with no new batches coming through except for a small number of Poundland stores.

Moving Parts seems to have disappeared altogether unfortunately. A friend sourced this new mix from the U.S which happily included the Super Chase Monte Carlo.

Some recent arrivals,

IMG_20250826_201047.jpg.00e25e35d5daac4d2829f4bae49001f1.jpg

First up, nabbed a Hot Ones  Celica from Tescotainer. I like this casting, when I first started collecting Hot Wheels again, it was a TA22,  it looks good in this series,

IMG_20250826_200931.jpg.0607dcf4bf7fa669107e0e2b4a2e6b79.jpg

IMG_20250826_200942.jpg.2fd24d8a6b2be193c5329462d20e5933.jpg

All the ones I have are mainlines so it's nice to have one with extra detailing, even if the headlights look a little odd...

IMG_20250826_200952.jpg.975b9b14f5165cc8a7a49ff5bbd55494.jpg

I do now regret leaving the BMW M1 behind now. Bet its not there when I go at the weekend!

IMG_20250828_001703.jpg.637850fcf20ba84dcea9e8761a03a453.jpg

Latest AliExpress arrival. Always wanted one of these since they came out but never found one in the shops. This was on offer for £8 posted so I grabbed it.

IMG_20250828_001758.jpg.f4fd35b20c43b2c23f78c6f9d9072d66.jpg

Probably why this one was marked down. Ah well, waste of time keeping it in the packaging now,

IMG_20250828_002153.jpg.01432f558d3076f086dd1a725979efd9.jpg

What a little stunner this one is. I like old cars in standard form but really, I'm an old boy racer at heart, so I love the stance, the fat arches and deeply dished wheels.

Nice nod to the old RS 4-spokes, but I think it would have looked even better on the Real Riders wide steelies that they do.

IMG_20250826_232308.jpg.3fd504c33b37a1831ee0ba54ba077c45.jpg

He picked up this new Majorette 190 on his recent travels, and kindly offered me it. I've only found this casting in black so far in one of the gift packs so it's nice to have a single carded version.

IMG_20250826_232158.jpg.3aade1540b92fdf9f83eb22fc1ac2a7a.jpg

IMG_20250826_232235.jpg.5af4f36600099671aad7ac77ddc78a41.jpg

It's a good casting and it's nice to see the 190 finally getting recognised recently by the toy makers. I've got my sights on the Maisto Evo2 next...

IMG_20250826_231951.jpg.15b6d8caf33c2e6a7805b685d17ebb6c.jpg

I also got offered the contemporary Majorette 190 too. Another one I've been wanting for years and never got one at the time.

IMG_20250826_232506.jpg.7600957a63574dd6f2d52c29baa0241a.jpg

It's in lovely condition this one, and in a great colour scheme,

IMG_20250826_232732.jpg.2b552e5b5354afb7bea913fa35ccbdb5.jpg

Really nicely rendered too, they really captured the 190's shape well. Sprung suspension, opening doors, and I loved the way that on these, the headlights were formed from the glazing unit, and the tail lights from the interior unit, rather than just cast in. I always felt as a kid, and now, that Majorette were a bit of a cut above the Matchbox and Corgi Juniors of the time.

IMG_20250826_232602.jpg.f50828ec7f3f309feb5e9712b1bc784f.jpg

IMG_20250826_232658.jpg.a2c533110aa27f007b1c9daee65b548f.jpg

The S124 wagon is another one I was unaware of. Never seen a Majorette one before until now.

IMG_20250826_231647.jpg.f4f9234340e546f9af89d9de19c97014.jpg

IMG_20250826_231450.jpg.07f8d1ca221d5b0d988d7c82f506b3f9.jpg

The cast boot badge is nicely done, and a typical Stuttgart reg number too.

IMG_20250826_231601.jpg.4c49b784959ff5e30469628e9d711e4a.jpg

Wouldnt be an '80s Majorette without junk in the trunk.

IMG_20250826_231614.jpg.d357f050695684d2a4bdf8372de6d969.jpg

Another nice touch on this is that the grill is part of the metal base, as is the dash and steering wheel, which makes it look a bit more realistic in grey than if it were part of the all white interior.

IMG_20250826_231357.jpg.b483809dd5f0a1014b113fcbd418e873.jpg

IMG_20250826_231815.jpg.b6b3c7511cfb55af9b6fef6bb7ef984c.jpg

And a Hot Wheels Skyline to make up the 'Then & Now' pairing with the R35 I've already got.

Got some work done too on the  "rolled" Vanguards Cortina.

IMG_20250825_114657.jpg.d891f5f3b62c30eac40ba31250a044eb.jpg

After a bit of trial and error, I got the vinyl roof covering on. Still not 100% perfect but it hides the damaged paint nicely enough.

IMG_20250825_114954.jpg.f5907dc8acf9bcfef639f52de07384d5.jpg

As nice as the interior is, the almost translucent  grey steering wheel annoyed me, so it was given a touch of black Sharpie, along with the gearknob, and left to dry before it was all put back together again.

IMG_20250826_013554.jpg.7cb3f282834bd9eaf63663247756bcac.jpg

So, it now looks like this. It's had a bit more paint repair around the window frames, and the n/s glass is back in.

IMG_20250826_013635.jpg.e66ebb327557e69833f7d10f4d940323.jpg

Shame the wipers were lost, but I really dont have the patience to replace them as Vanguards wipers are a devil to fit. I think the Mk3  Escort door mirrors look okay on there, not too much out of place. The windscren has a bit of a crack on the offside where the glazing unit was damaged, so I've made a period-looking blue translucent sunstrip from some leftover waterslide transfers.

IMG_20250826_013841.jpg.17d3da7a75cc61194a7134d28eaf6555.jpg

IMG_20250826_013818.jpg.fbb7682c171ac0c2a9483c7359795b9b.jpg

The usual Vanguards detailing front and rear. Looks even more real with the dealer sticker.

Glad it got to you OK. Chucked the S124 in as a bit of a good customer bonus, as it's a duplicate (and does noeed a little work) but thought it would be of interest to you.

£8 for the HW Anglia was good value, I had to pay 12 Euros in France.
