Opened up the moulds this morning.
White is the resin. Beige is Milliput.

The resin seems to work much better with the silicone moulds. The resin taken out of the blue stuff moulds was very poor.  I think it was a combination of thin resin mix and it crumbled when removed from the much harder blue stuff moulds.

The Milliput was very good though. The left hand Milliput wasn’t pushed into the mould as hard and has come out rock hard but with quite poor detail. The right hand Milliput mould though was pushed into quite tightly in small pieces then fully filled once the details were all covered. This one is by far the best imho.

Here it is with a tyre fitted next to an original.
It’s not as good as the original but it’s not that far off. Obviously the holes through the wheel aren’t there but they could easily be drilled out or just a bit of black paint in.

I had some leftover resin so I cast a new grill for that Triang Jumbo FFK truck. I made a mould from the original grill before refitting it.

Needs a bit of tidying around the edges but it’s not half bad.

A bit more of a faff to make but worth a try.

Waitrose yet again comes up with the goods:

Also managed to get the E39 M5 silverline at my local Entertainer. Otherwise it's been very dry locally.

Different paint on the T25  .. looks better than the brown version

Picked up an Alfa at the same time

Yep definitely the better of the two, and seemingly quite elusive so far

I was looking at that Datsun pickup this morning in Aldi.  I rejected it in the end because I thought it looked too long, and the wheels were too small.

What actual real car do we all think this is… I first thought MK3 Escort but could be an Audi Quattro?

Yeah, that's definitely the Audi.

Went to Ford Market this morning and picked up some tat

A couple of old Solidos that even though I don't like Ferrari or Porsche, I do like the toys like this from France

IMG_2132.JPG.4f34fe5aff7e396ad5868e17f8e4c5d7.JPG

Also this very strange thing

IMG_2134.JPG.0f63dcb0f6e1898572360374d255be57.JPG

Renault apparently

IMG_2135.JPG.a1c2ede7c47233c8ebbe9bfd438b0d1e.JPG

Plus a few Corgi and Dinkys that were cheap

IMG_2133.JPG.11f8e132eb91f5bd072a0f5eff27c045.JPG

and lastly a Matchbox Charger to go with the King Size version I made

IMG_2136.JPG.40d30b6db8f8f3ae91810acccc1512eb.JPG

After that we headed into Arundel for a coffee and while we were there I picked up these

IMG_2126.JPG.d273accaef87491e0dfaa7226de5e098.JPG

Despite the ludicrous wheel arches, I've lusted after the Alfasud since I saw it last time we were in Arundel

IMG_2128.JPG.f60e4a04e66be1d3cae24dfaad8c98ba.JPG

I love it! Jeweled headlights too...

I love opening bits and in the end couldn't resist the Renner 5 by Pilan

IMG_2131.JPG.27e8604aaba403fde4f8288bdd0b576e.JPG

Also picked up a lovely Pilan Renner 14 for @bunglebus or was it @Split_Pin? one of them anyway maybe.

Some nice finds.

The blue thing is the Renault Étoile Filante. It set the land speed record for a gas turbine car in 1956. It achieved the speed of 191mph at Bonneville.

It went back to Bonneville in 2016 to celebrate the 60th anniversary

On my holidays this weekend, not a lot around in the usual suspects or supermarkets, but I did find a second hand collectables type shop with lots of loose cars, mostly modern Hot Wheels and the like. He wasn't exactly cheap either but I managed to acquire this Corgi Senator from him

I also rescued this ESCI Snoopy MK1 Golf Cabrio out of the window before it melted in the sun

In a change to the normal situation, the tourist tat shops in Yarmouth actually had some Hot Wheels and Matchbox, rather than the awful Chinese rubbish that abounds. Even better, I found a mix that didn't seem to get widely distributed in the UK. I have the Volvo and SL loose from multipacks, but the Chevy Van is a new one for me

Slightly reminiscent of the 'Rough Rider' Corgi 1/36 Chevy van I had.

I’m delighted with today’s purchases. Not cheap, but they look fantastic. The Land Cruiser and Alfa were available as well, but didn’t float my boat.

Not bad for a Chinese no-name, it plays sounds and flashes the headlights too, but I won't subject you to that.

Today I'm going after the Majorette Tune-Ups, series 3

That's really nice with opening everything, what scale is it?

Amazing how they also managed to fit in the gubbins for the sound and light!

Miscellaneous trucks and a chassis less Transit. Ideal for someone to make something out of without ruining a good one. £3 plus postage for the lot

Could I interest you in this for 50p? Despite appearances I think it’d restore quite well in someone less cack handed than me.
