I won't have been cheap on that stall. He's always there with a table full of boxed Corgis etc, at fairly steep prices. I did score a load of clean Matchbox off him today though

@andrew e knew how excited I'd be by this fake Hot Wheels Karmann Ghia he found on one of his jollies around Europe

PXL_20241013_130959374.jpg.57e0dd7409214e612dd670c83e392dd5.jpgPXL_20241013_131034245.jpg.6bf4be6d1318dfbf64fa90ad64f394e9.jpgPXL_20241013_131037675.jpg.2a93163876ce54561dd9f3de95989f3f.jpg

Here's my real one

Hot Wheels Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

This Siku Golf came from eBay, thought I would be outbid for sure

PXL_20241013_130713684.jpg.af39006d2c82a473ee75159f1720df4e.jpg

Sometimes I wonder why I do what I do. Far too many pennies were handed over today for this broken Matchbox VW 1600, but it has the wrong wheels, far too small, so I had to have it. I think the rears are smaller than the fronts too

How it should look

Matchbox Superfast 67 Volkswagen 1600 TL

Another eBay find, anyone else know why I was so pleased to find this particular Majorette van?

PXL_20241013_130540352.jpg.a27cc264cda65787dae371fba0c155cb.jpg

Another oddity I found this morning - black base Corgi VW 1300

PXL_20241013_130450746.jpg.68b14daf9712bd3941c3b56fd53fe52e.jpgPXL_20241013_130500737.jpg.28e73e75f13d61905c994d241e37f0db.jpg

Siku 1300 via eBay, a much nicer casting than the more common 1303 one

PXL_20241013_130413531.jpg.60020e0fd5c74244fd7f27d00a3cc47e.jpgPXL_20241013_130425454.jpg.bad4035972e5ace32d8b0dd365db7749.jpg

eBay again - thought it might be a repaint, but it's original, and looking nicer now I've cleaned all the giffer grime off that's seen here

This motorcycle looks tantalisingly familiar but has no markings on it, has to be Lesney going by the wheels

I don't buy many of the oddball brands now, but I couldn't resist a Tootsietoy Jag

PXL_20241013_125741238.jpg.133325d57daf772b5311766ac9ece9ee.jpg

PXL_20241013_125029852.jpg.08fe3b89960103f23ccccec4d2016a55.jpg

Corgi - these Escorts are in demand, so this was a comparative bargain

Lastly, Matchbox. Most from one seller who had quite a few in very nice condition at a not unreasonable price

The boy Rich did good today! That Rolls Royce in the flesh is a masterpiece! Someone sat in their shed as kid with a copy of of Custom Car and the only four humbrol enamels they had and 45 years later it’s still here! It’s majestically terrible - I’d have had it if Rich hadn’t 👍

My finds were sone recent Hotwheels at less than supermarket prices (?) a bargain matchbox Silverado and a Rockets DBS and a ramp for £12.50p all in! Chuffed with that!

Why not? 😁

Majorette panel van above is a really early one that still has the swage line along the sides. They soon deleted it to make adding decals easier - always looked odd to me as it was retained on the rear corners

I can see why there wasn't much cheap tat at the toy fair in Steyning this morning as it was all at the one in Rayleigh!

However I picked up some bits n bobs as usual...

Paid £8 for this lot

The Bburago Porsche is very basic, but the 928 is such a great shape!

IMG_0304.JPG.e4aeaa72d059606e5a0ebb8e87b3d692.JPG

I got carried away and paid £5 each for these

The Fiesta is a Hot Wheels Mattel (Mebetoys?) I've not seen before, not seen the Custom Dinky Mk2 Transit or the Franklin Mint Avanti. The Corgi Countryman is pretty good with aerial, roof rack and doors, it was marked £7, but the seller offered it for £5 before I said a word, I wanted it to chop up, but it's too nice!

IMG_0305.JPG.8e4074b29a295e4e08a356750fe565c7.JPG

Two VWs from the same seller for £8, another Corgi breakdown and a Mebetoys Mattel 1303

IMG_0306.JPG.b6fe41d56ea36473050f183bc1d491cc.JPG

I don't remember seeing a 1/43 1303 before and this is very good apart from a missing rear bumper

IMG_0307.JPG.5cd720e3c45138eceb5018800ba9b269.JPG

I have been getting a few more Spot Ons recently even though the raised shut lines really irritates me, so I picked up another I didn't have, possibly has repro bumpers, but hey still nice

IMG_0308.JPG.be766834a504d1e93ba2d57127b2ed0f.JPG

I got this from the same seller while Mrs Concern wasn't looking for her Christmas present, not sure she'll want it, but I did! The seller said he'd have it back for the same money if she didn't haha!

IMG_0309.JPG.3f3cba56a5676333d0bc566bc8c5964d.JPG

So here's everything with some Dinky catalogues I got as well

IMG_0310.JPG.7cfe0cb8bb29ecf1afafa8e8631c78eb.JPG

Funnily enough one of the catalogues has the Custom Transit in it

IMG_0321.JPG.16a674549b9036a761bbc9094c3b668c.JPG

The base

IMG_0322.JPG.53a975a5678f9325e7a03e2e6f86b6ed.JPG

I was on the lookout for more Norev (by the way @flat4alfa I did PM you about the plastic transporter, I don't think you've noticed it yet) and Yonezawa toys, but didn't see even one, lucky I've been going mad on ebay recently then! I bought this lovely plastic Norev Alfa for starting bid

IMG_0315.JPG.8a22cecd7fbf298248d9f2b09b51f90c.JPG

Nice from the back as well

IMG_0316.JPG.2406b298cffc3c3ed1c2fa44e7020653.JPG

and I got an offer on a distorted plastic Cortina I was watching, I think it compares well with the Dinky ones

IMG_0312.JPG.087430ece8a9bb864d10df9f58cd0e81.JPG

They all look pretty good from the front, but I think the Norev headlamps are the best

IMG_0314.JPG.daf7a523ad2de4baf5674e4ce42ca75a.JPG

The Ban The Bomb rear lights are only well represented on the Dinky pre airflow as the later car has red jewels which don't look great and the Norev just has a raised circle without the bezel

IMG_0313.JPG.be143c1d9c1b82320be7aaf3155ee556.JPG

One of the things I like about Yonezawa is most seem to have opening everything and this 911 is no exception

IMG_0317.JPG.bd0b258774a4ea3cbf82f1d2353b1a00.JPG

another starting bid purchase and I'm please I won it as it's a lovely toy even though I'm not a big Porsche fan. It's complete, but a bit chipped so I may paint it at some point.

What's the best glue to use to re-attach broken off parts? I remember using super glue on a model once but it made the glazing go cloudy.

Very jealous of that one, and the 1303 to an extent. That Peterbilt recovery truck is very nice too.

Custom Transit looks like a good project, I've had a couple but they've been far to nice to mess about with

Depends on the parts - if it's clear glazing you can use Krystal Klear which doesn't haze things up - although I suspect it's just very expensive PVA glue.

I use cheap super glue and an accelerant on various bits, occasionally a two part epoxy if it needs to be very strong. I'd avoid Gorilla as it bubbles up and makes a mess

Those things are still being produced, you see them in generic airport vehicle sets. Think I've got a few different versions, were they a Tomica originally?

It's hanging about with it's stablemate at the moment.
