Bloody hell, I didn't know that Landy double-cab existed!  I need one of those!

Toy fair haul. I'll go through these individually tomorrow but I'm very pleased, even if I do think I should have pretty much cleared one seller out of his 3 for £1 small cars and £2-3 big ones, as they were almost all very tidy

I forgot to post this one. After winning the Herbie out of a 2p machine while on holiday...

QHT Herbie VW Beetle

....I posted it on a VW diecast FB group, and my arch rival VW toy collector expressed an interest in getting one. I was buying some bits off Temu and spotted a boxed one for £3.00, so I ordered it.

Ooh, I can see some tidy Majorettes there. Sadly I'm having no luck getting to anywhere where I might find them here in France (other than a boot sale where all I saw were a few loose HWs and the odd bit of military/fire appliance stuff).

Finally got to the most local King Jouet, plus another supermarket in town:

IMG_8656.JPG.a832f5b168e1c47724c2df30c6a61e24.JPG

BRE Datsun and Matchbox DS from Intermarche, the remainder from King Jouet. The Renault 4 van is a nice reminder of the original and I coudn't resist picking up both versions. They had the DS in the range too, but the colours are rather lairy on it. @AndyW201 I got the Mercedes with you in mind, let me know if you'd like it. No worries if not.

Is this a new Majorette logo we're seeing here and will it eventually extend to everything in the range?

Here you go. Escort was a separate purchase from a seller who's been promising to bring loose cars along for ages, none were 50p but not terribly expensive either

I may be biased but I think the small scale Corgi Escort is a great casting, the dimensions are just right. This needs a bit more work before painting.

Does anyone have a 3D printing file for these wheels?

Its a great casting but the front wing and bonnet are too long, which is to accommodate the door hinges. It always reminded me of how the designers of the 6cyl Morris Isis handled the extra engine length compared to the shorter 4 cylinder cars.

The MB example above doesn't have this problem, at the expense of no opening features.

IMO the most accurate Escort MK3 casting is the 1/43 Solido but its not as fun as the 1/36 Corgi.

Some bargains there! Kids being given cars they never played with makes me a bit sad but its great that these toys can now find very appreciative homes today.

I was also just thinking how oddities like that fantastic little Polistil Panda I got the other week end up never being opened and obviously stored somewhere quite carefully.

The glass is in backwards on the Oldsmobile. I got that one as a twin pack with a boat as a kid but the original car is long gone. I eventually replaced it about ten years ago but I found it quite hard to source at the time.

Also, what a funny subject, possibly the most shoddy US Domestic car at the time, modeled by a French toy maker and sold in the UK. I loved it and still do!

Last lot now, I promise. Think I might have been slightly hasty buying this Matchbox Dinky E Type at the boot sale, but they are really nicely made things that while designed for collectors, definitely stand up as a toy

My buildings for the display I’m making are coming on.

Row of terraces are done. Just need some alterations to the bases to fit together. Once it’s all ready I’ll do a bit of extra detailing on them.

Service station is on the bench drying now. It’s laser cut MDF so fits together easily and well.

Once it’s built I’ll paint it and add some extras in and around it. The pumps it comes with aren’t great so I’ll get some better  3D printed ones.

Picked these 2 up in Aldi before and 1 is available.
