I'd be interested in the MK3 cortina & organ grinder yellow Mustang if there £1 for pair plus p&p?

That 1:25 Volvo looks like a Polistil one. I’ve got a couple of saloons and estates here somewhere with the same wheels. They’re really nice models!

Another brilliant haul you found there.

Yep it's Polistil, kudos for them displaying the model name underneath in the correct and very unusual font that Volvo used for a couple of years on the boot badges of its 740 models. Matchbox cast it onto the boot lid of their saloon 760 too.

Weirdly, Polistil also made a saloon version at the same time, probably the only toy manufacturer to do this. I have a picture somewhere of both of mine together.

I also had my eye on the blue Cortina, been looking for one lately.

Had an early night due to being up at 5 for the boot sale

I'll keep the Joal Merc for you then and I may have something else you'll want but I'll tell you about that later.

Thanks for the pic of the Monza advert, now I remember seeing it in an American car book I have.

I think @eddyramrod is having the Cortina. Probably not worth it for you to pay post on the Mustang alone, but I'll leave it to one side in case I pick up something else you fancy.

The Corgi Juniors Ford Escort (Mk3) first produced 1981, with some early production distributed by Ford

IMG_0413.jpeg.e1f7a8456c60185421035b673015a5ef.jpeg

There was a blue mainline (which is much less common) that along with the range going forward did away with the black grille / bumper detail and has the earlier brown interior

IMG_0423.jpeg.e91ed62f678cb232e9baf005901e96ae.jpeg

But I think your example would be post-1984 receivership as has a lighter brown interior and shares tampo print with the 1989 Weetabix promotional

IMG_0416.jpeg.da33ea5e5137252c4ed5cb303ee3e389.jpegIMG_0419.png.6e8a21df0bedb88cade96d5ce65d80b1.png

Your blue example isn’t common, the overwhelming majority with the XR3i tampo are in the red.

(Perhaps it might have been a tad cynical dressing up as XR3i with no other changes made - having no spoiler / body kit.  But the resurrection through management buyout honourably retaining the GB production meant little money for development)

Notice your blue one wears the original wheel style, whereas the Weetabix red has the style seen on the 1986 BP garage promotion

IMG_0417.jpeg.05c9e2b8a189be895092b0c99f474459.jpeg

This Escort casting did not survive the Mattel 1989 buyout as it was not seen as part of the subsequent move to Chinese production as Auto-City range for 1991

TL;DR- ok I’ll give you a couple of quid for it, if only to compare alongside the 1986 Matchbox XR3i Cabriolet in blue, with similar graphic!

I've recently finished some of my Fake Corgis inspired by catalogues I had as a kid

Whizzwheels (teledial) Camaro, I tried painting in the "SS" on the front wing decal, but my hands wouldn't co operate. I need to send it to @bunglebus or @eddyramrod to get it done!

Golden Jacks Firebird

IMG_9382.JPG.3b9d333eaaac17b79c111851e65a9ba9.JPG

note the boot spoiler filed off and new air intakes on bonnet

IMG_9383.JPG.6edb47846e52363bda437c5b88a0ffe5.JPG

I did my usual trick and painted two left doors green and two right ones blue! I also cut a section of the base from each car and swapped them over. I didn't have a dremel then and filing by hand was impossible so I got fed up and painted them anyway. I now have (not) a dremel, but cba stripping and re painting etc.

IMG_9387.JPG.1bb4e16b68fd67c366b7c8efac34558f.JPG

Firebird from interim catalogue

IMG_9416.JPG.a3bd33f1bf7e2bb2d3f90b897675db33.JPG

on this one of the doors wood not shut properly and I ended up taking it to bits again and painting a door from another Firebird/Camaro which set me back again

IMG_9418.JPG.dd9c6815aa1244ca2f220dd82d3fd96c.JPG

I think they make a nice little set

However I was thinking of decals, but really need to have a load to do rather than print a couple of tiny SS logos on an expensive clear sticky sheet so I'm saving up a few.

I don't paint fine lettering any more.  I've discovered Fineliner pens.  My hand is still a bit shaky so I can't reproduce consistent letters like number plates have, for example, but it's much better than trying to paint the same thing.

I'd love to have a crack at these but don't have the eyes or patience any more.  Other excuses are available.  Here are some pre-production genuines:

I've just wasted spent a metric shedload of time navigating my Flickr account (now all but defunct, since I stopped paying for Pro, as it was solely there as a holding place for images in my spotting thread, which in itself is now hideously unfashionable (and I seemed to have stopped spotting interesting stuff)), to find some images of stuff I sold 14 years ago.

Behold an item that might help date @sutty2006's Escort, should anyone be able identify the box era:

35608202196_403bea4041_o.jpg

Perhaps @Bren might be able to assist? I'm sure he collects boxed Corgi Juniors.

And a couple of other Escorts that I had at the time and sold on:

35608203376_f0b020d37c_z.jpg

I think this might be a bit of a rarity, judging by previous comments on here?

35608203236_8f166ef638_o.jpg

Note the red front indicators - presumably a cost cutting measure! And yet it has RS Turbo-esque wheels, which I don't recall being used on other castings.

I always found it strange that the front ends of the Mk3 hatch and vans were entirely different castings. Would've been nice to have a Juniors van version, too.
