Some of yesterday's finds.

Some boxed Corgi from the 80s.

20240311_140123.thumb.jpg.147dc77d8160e85d21a814b27bb59305.jpg

Think these were sold more as "collectables" than toys, but still look like they could withstand being played with.

Nice Mercedes convertible.

I've just sold mine. It always felt slightly disappointing as it was very light, for the size of it I would have expected a bit of heft.

Decent amount of opening bits but...meh

Had to nip out this morning, but did find this.

IMG_4078.thumb.jpeg.9d81d18290ec084aaeba9e56516698c9.jpeg

Minichamps 1:43 Mondeo mk1. Never seen one before so had to have it! (I’m aware I’m supposed to be thinning down!).
Looks like an older Minichamps model but it’s actually pretty nice.
Quite grubby and dusty so I’ve just given it a wash off.

I had a hunt through my pictures to find that grey Mondeo.

Unfortunately I do not have any Mk1 Estate pictures.

I have Mk1 4-door

DSCF9043.thumb.JPG.93960b044130ff6e4710882d950d22de.JPG

and 5-door.

DSCF7613.thumb.JPG.3009a94bfd54818729174a488f4cdeec.JPG

Mk1 Facelift 4-door

DSCF7368.thumb.JPG.34b770d146bd48fe0ea456bee01109b2.JPG

and Mk2 estateDSCF6478.thumb.JPG.c76b9abe1bb19316261e660721a1fd84.JPG

I also checked my old ebay listing description and found that a grey metallic Mondeo Estate has passed through here. Is is described as a Dealer Edition so would have come in a box like this when the car was in the showrooms.

You bad man!😄

Why did you have to show me those!! Now I’ve got to look for some more. The blue Ford boxed one is lovely.

Mine is boxed but it’s not the original I don’t think. It’s just an old Minichamps box like the one with your red car.

Deliveries!

Norfolk correspondant @Spottedlaurel found me this rather lovely Majorette Porker

These were something I knew existed, I just hadn't ever seen any in this country. Zee Toys branded but 100% Maisto castings within

I can see the MADE IN MACAU and FERRARI 308 GTB on the base but not the maker - I have no doubt it will say Maisto or MC Toys though

Lastly, this

I'm slightly obsessed with copies and knockoffs, this was advertised as possibly being a Lucky (it isn't)

Obviously a plastic copy of the earliest iteration of the Dinky MK1 Transit but in plastic. Being used to such things from Lucky, I expected it to be 50-100% larger - but no

Absolutely no idea who made it, but it's fantastic, copied the extendable radar gun thing and the roofrack but of course no opening bits, just a friction motor - and the radar gun slips into a recess in the roof unlike the original.

Love it.

Gorgous models.

I do prefer the wheel style on the Police one, looks better for it. I'd like those on the non Police version.

Definitely! Let me know if the black interior is going spare 👍

Are you getting that from Dan?

That is a weird coincidence!

Ill take the hammer & chisel  drill to your green one tomorrow and part it out.

I totally lost track of who wanted what, but I think @bunglebus wants an engine cover/boot/bonnet/whatever @eddyramrod wants seat backs & @andrew e wants complete interior, is that right? If so there isn't enough Porsche to go around on @danthecapriman's one so I'm happy to donate an interior to whoever still needs one.

Here's my green Porsche that I cut the targa top out off when i was a kid, I got this in a swap with the boot/??? already missing. I already had the blue one in a box from new. That one is far from perfect despite the box and the doors just flop open all the time...

I’ve got the orangey interior in both of mine, I might go for a trim swap when I prize it apart, so if the black goes towards the bin think of me please 👍

The backend is shagged on the tatty one, its not a low rider!

The one in my sale thread has one seat back missing. It might help @eddyramrod if he’s only missing one of course.

I didn’t get time to open it up today. Tomorrow is more likely though if you still want it opened up and separated?

Suspension is good.
Wheels not bad.
Glazing not bad.
Boot/bonnet present & undamaged.
Body itself is ok, no damage to pillars etc.

Headlight jewels missing.
One seat back missing.
Paint not great.

I must have had a poor condition police one to raid the engine cover off of - I'll check the spares box and see what's in there as it's not often I chuck stuff in the bin

Always nice to turn up at work on a Monday morning and find a package that's turned up over the weekend:

Thanks to @Datsuncog for this batch. Will be interesting to compare the Land Cruiser with the older Matchbox version, plus ancient Majorettes.

Majorette Golf Mk3 is a rather chunky, lumpen thing, even more so than the 1:1. '69' plate is from Rhone department, not a Parisian '75' registration like the older Majorettes often wore. Tailgate doesn't seem to want to open, and I don't want to force it and snap the hinges.

Nothing in the boot anyway.

Also got this Aoshima kit at a decent price off eBay:

Id be a little concerned though with a Ford mechanic checking over your Mini. He’s probably sabotaging it!😆

That would be the Citroen one doing the sabotaging

Birthday today, so a bit of diecast to open. Not sure if @danthecapriman had acquired one of these among his impressive recent partwork jamboree, so apologies if it's already been seen.

IMG_20240311_223016.thumb.jpg.23b74003ce71b210225f29cb98fe0b94.jpg

But I've been after this one for ages! I've got a few of the Vanguards Hillman Avenger saloons, so when I saw the Dodge 1500 Rural from the Argentinian Salvat Inolvidables partwork by Hachette, I've set my sights on one, as it's more or less a Chrysler Avenger estate.

Sadly the only ones seemingly available in this country are the ACA automobile club version

s-l400(1).jpg.07732b61722cfd476c6a4181f0f509aa.jpg

Nice, but I did just want a standard version, so would have to get rid of the signwriting and the stuff on the roof.

IMG_20240311_221352.thumb.jpg.5203a13d02f3bd17726ae57d183f6066.jpg

Then came this nice plain metallic blue version, but I've only ever seen it previously on eBay from South American based sellers, at around £30 with about another £30 in postage.

Nah!

So I bided my time, and waited to see if that nice Jumajo in France got hold of them. Which they did.

IMG_20240311_222411.thumb.jpg.e230781674b341ff4f6e84cd5e4cc217.jpg

And I'm pretty chuffed with it, it'll make a nice contrast with the Hillman saloons. Not sure who makes it, (my guess was IXO, but there are normal cross head screws on the base, rather than the weird triangular slot ones). Apart from the tiny Dodge badge on the bonnet, it's just like a UK Chrysler one at the front.

IMG_20240311_222816.thumb.jpg.89e3818bd51c1e52bd491b9cb1aa952d.jpg

Not bad at the rear, (although the tower for the rear mounting screw on the inside of the tailgate jars slightly).

IMG_20240311_222519.thumb.jpg.e3aab6e6ab68c080d3c27fd9973ceefe.jpg

The flat bit on the roof is a bit odd, probably a hangover from the roof rack of the ACA version. Love the  Rostyles though!

IMG_20240311_223512.thumb.jpg.d22d4758ad0c54016f1fb8ed48d3e8b8.jpg

Interior, such as it is, is pretty good for a cheapie partwork model, especially the odd Alpine-style single spoke wheel. Brings back memories of BYG 745T, my Dads old Avenger DL in brown with all-brown  interior  Can still smell that hot vinyl!

Try 1:43 man on eBay he sells alot of these very cheaply usually under £30 all in.

Sometimes groups of 3or 4 for this price.

I got the ford saloon set for this price & the pickup set.

Aye, that's where I got this from, the guy goes under both names of Jumajo and 1:43 man, I've had a few good partwork model deals from them now. The Dodge was slightly more expensive as it seems to be the most sought after out of that collection, but ended up being just over £20 all-in, not too bad considering it came from France.

The real thing has the raised panel, maybe the rougher roads in South America made them put the panel in to stop vibration.

I’ve got a pair of the yellow version!
My plan is to repaint them into standard cars  though so it doesn’t bother me. I’ve never had the blue standard version though, looks lovely.
Agree with you about the screw pillar in the back too! I might try to grind it down a bit when mines in bits, see if I can’t reduce the size a touch then paint it interior colour to make it less obvious.

They do a few versions of the 1500/Avenger saloon too, including one that kind of resembles a Tiger. And the last of the line VW badged one’s.

Happy Birthday too btw!

A bit of matt black works wonders for disguising stuff like that

Birthday today, so a bit of diecast to open. Not sure if @danthecapriman had acquired one of these among his impressive recent partwork jamboree, so apologies if it's already been seen.

Not bad at the rear, (although the tower for the rear mounting screw on the inside of the tailgate jars slightly).

The flat bit on the roof is a bit odd, probably a hangover from the roof rack of the ACA version. Love the  Rostyles though!

Interior, such as it is, is pretty good for a cheapie partwork model, especially the odd Alpine-style single spoke wheel. Brings back memories of BYG 745T, my Dads old Avenger DL in brown with all-brown  interior  Can still smell that hot vinyl!

Nice model although it amazes me how manufacturers can go to so much effort capturing the finer details and then stick on wipers like this:

The best effort I found was on this Opel Monza model I have (it even has seatbelts):

I thought that pillar was meant to be the wiper motor housing!

Great attention to detail, I thought to myself...

Completely agree there. I did think the wipers looked a bit clunky, but that angle really shows it. I suppose being a cheapie partwork job (I think they cost the equivalent of a tenner or less where they're sold, complete with magazine), costs have to be saved somewhere. Other than the wipers, it can't really be faulted.

Those Schuco Monzas, though, are something else altogether. I've got that, and the Senator, and they're about the best detailed models I've got, better than Minichamps even.

No... No! You're correct actually. That definitely IS the wiper motor housing

(And it can stop bothering me now... 🤣)

It's amazing how many variants there are of those Avenger/1500 part work models there are, along with all the Chevette/Kadett ones.

I've had my eye on those Dodge 1500 GT 90/100 ones too, they're pretty cheap from Jumajo. I think they're the Tiger-style ones. They've got slightly different front and rear  light treatments to our UK Avengers, but I reckon they'd make a good base for some boy-racer style Avenger models.

That’s exactly it.
Lots of them are actually shared with other brand names but you pay much more for them - IXO, Triple9, etc etc. but the end model must get some cost cutting done for the magazine editions so you often get much simpler paint jobs, slightly less detailing, more chunky basic parts etc.

I was on eBay a while back looking at them and the Mexico cars partwork Ford Econoline mini bus in red…

Is a casting shared with Triple9 and PremiumX, who do a more detailed version of it with two tone paint for going on four times what that Mexico mag one cost me!

The Volvo 343 from a Polish cars partwork…

IMG_3855.thumb.jpeg.eda5ff0e6570548dc7503be4aa81df64.jpeg

Is also shared with Triple9, who do/did a yellow one for considerably more than that one cost me.
I’ve got a Triple9 one and two of the blue partwork ones and even a pair of the blue ones wasn’t as much as the Triple9!

Theres loads of them if you can be arsed looking for the various different brands.
