Then there's this...

I find it hard to leave cheap Corgi Whizzwheels behind.

Although the windshield and hood have gone AWOL, it's not in too bad shape.

50p takes this, if anyone fancies it!

Factory Error Alert!

Teledials on rear are not hot foiled and front wheels are not Teledials.

Yes, I wondered about those...

The teledials on the rear looked wrong, but I was planning on having a look through my Corgi catalogues later to see if that was common or not on early buggies.

There's some traces of silver just about visible on the rear wheels...

(Though hard to make out in pics)

There also seems to be some overpaint around the edge of one rear wheel too.

I'm not honestly sure if the original foil's been repainted and then rubbed off - as the fronts look a bit matt and slightly messy, more like they've been touched in with a paint pen than the original foil - or if they were left undecorated from the factory.

But, just in case...

I wasn't 100% sure if I still had my 1990 Solido Clio but it turns out I do.

Comparison with the 16v shows flared.arches and bonnet bulge.

I got this at a swapmeet a few months before the real Clio was released in the UK so I wasn't half smug at this.

That was, until I opened the catalogue supplied and saw the 1/18 'Actura' range. Wow.

I now have both these cars and across the wider range I've had a fair few come and go over the years. The Century of Cars made heavy use of these old castings, with a few more detailed later 90s ones mixed in. I also dreamed of finding the Mercedes R129 Cabriolet which wasn't even released and was just an illustration at this point. It took me until last week to get it!

Enjoy folks!

Just had a quick scan of Beach Buggies sold on Vectis in the last 20 years to see the wheel types. I also looked at the Fire Bug to see what was fitted to them.

Buggy    Teledials  Crown   Dish  Error Total

Red              31               16            0         1         48

Blue             22               14            2         0         38

Fire Bug      0                32             0         0         32

All Fire Bugs have the Crown type wheel fitted. Only one red Buggy had an error of Teledials front and Crown rear. Two blue Buggies had the later dish type wheel as fitted to the purple Buggy that came with the boat.

Ah, interesting.., I only ever had the Fire Bug as a kid, which as you say came with the Crown type wheels.

It annoyed the life out of me because it was too big to fit in when playing with my 'small' cars, and too small to fit in with my 'big' cars.

So in that case...

I say no. Given the photos in that article there are hopefully the better examples of his skills I think we are lucky enough to have better photographers here.

And I didn't leave B&M without doing a purchase.

Not sure if you're still after this one, @andy18s - but if you are, it's here!

If you don't... well, someone else is welcome to it. £1.69 paid.

And, after resisting for several months, I finally snapped and bought myself a Nissan Patrol.

I'm still watching too much Matt's Off Road Recovery on YouTube, I know.

But the flowerbeds are calling, and I must go...

Once again - Happy Friday, all!

I'm happy to take the Cub unless anyone else wants it.

Just found out Matchbox are doing a few bikes too...

And there's more...

I figured that somebody might want this down-at-heel Solido Clio.

And it turns out that somebody is @FakeConcern.

It's definitely seen better days...

But as it's only screwed together, I think this could be a fairly straightforward resto job. Bit of paint, bit of plasticard for the rear lights - done.

Wasn't this one from the tail end of the Hachette Century of Cars collection partwork?

Either way - it's yours for 50p, dude!

Then there's this...

There used to be a Liquid Yellow 16v on ClioSport so that's an idea...

I was trying to remember how many Corgi GP buggies Mrs Concern has, I think it must be 5 so it's lucky Eddy wants that one haha!

Purchased today at the Enfield Pageant for £2.50, a 1:18 scale model of a Mercedes Benz 220SE.

Completely playworn and filthy, looks like a barn find.

The plan is to do nothing to it, leave it precisely how it is and enjoy the patina.

That's fabulous!  Does it even have the fabled low pivot swing axle at the rear?
