The plastic type 2 is a dealership display model - i have a couple of them from my granddads dealership.  From memory a red panel van, and a bus the same as yours but blue 👍

Yes the Corgi Volvo P1800 measures to 1:46 overall

It is over-wide though, as the width is nearer 1:45.  The plan view photo above also gives that impression

Speaking of kits, slow progress on the 1/24 Volvo F12, mainly because I keep finding parts that need painted!

I bought this as well. I have no idea how to use it though so I'll need to look on You Tube.

I think they’re like a wash you put over that makes bits looks grimy. I’m absolutely awful at things like that but those Itsleri truck kits look superb, I’ve considered one for my office.

Weathering powders aren't they?

You can water them down to make a wash, which you then dab or brush etc onto the model. You can use fine point brushes to apply it directly into door and panel seams etc to give a shadow effect which can really highlight the detail. 
Likewise you can brush it onto a flat area then buff it off with a cotton bud or kitchen paper which leaves it behind in corners and around raised details like bolt heads etc etc to look like accumulated dirt. You can also streak it downward or across roofs etc.

If you use it dry, use a soft brush of appropriate size to pick up some of the powder and just brush it onto the model and it will leave behind a coloured trace. It’s quite good for dirt spatters behind wheels or filth build up etc.

Thanks Dan, that's exactly what I was going for. The lorries I used to work with, one of which was an F10, had red chassis and were in exactly this condition.

Lots of videos on YouTube about it, actually the model train guys and tank enthusiasts are often the most skilled at doing it

I've still got lots to do such as the engine and inside of the chassis rails but I think it looks great as a start. I wanted to do this now before I add more parts to the chassis, which will also have to get weathered.

Humbrol make proper washes in various colours which I find really good. They come in little bottles and last ages. You can keep applying it too until you get the darkness you need.

I did all these with weathering powders and Humbrol washes only. 
I learned a bit about weathering from my model railway, then did a few tanks in 1:35 scale. I’m not an expert though! Some of the model railway guys are absolutely incredible at doing it.

Another good product range if you want to go a bit heavier with the muck is ‘Ammo by Mig’ who do all sorts from washes to actual fake mud for tanks and off road vehicles!

That does look absolutely fantastic! Very nicely done. 
You can see how much it actually highlights the details compared to just leaving it in paint.

One thing to be careful of if you use washes etc from Humbrol etc is they are spirit based as apposed to water, and can sometimes start to attack the paint finish! You just have to go carefully. Sometimes a varnish layer can stop it though.
