Spottedlaurel Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 I got the day wrong for the fair in Essex, for some reason I thought it was the 28th. Will have to go to the little one in Norwich tomorrow instead.....
bunglebus Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Got all my toy fair bits photographed, along with a few that came in the post and a pick up from the local lad who buys and sells diecast These two Hot Wheels Datsuns were in the mix Got excited when I saw the flame But they both have it Premium '40 Ford This mad thing was rattling around in a tub, haven't ID'd it yet Got quite excited finding several tatty redlines in a 50p box Until I bumped into the VW nemesis who proudly showed me the ones he'd already pulled out of the same box, which were much nicer! 🤬 Unusual colour Polo Various Matchbox were unearthed Big front wheel dragster! Nice Charger funny car too Unusual colour Prairie 300ZX is a 50th anniversary release Laser Wheels Sierra with unfortunate screen damage Very clean XJ6 Isuzu Mysterious Utility Wizard And an FX4 Split_Pin, MiniMinorMk3, FakeConcern and 5 others 8
bunglebus Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Moving onto Corgi, nice tidy Chevrolet Van, all the info bar "Made in England" deleted off the base Escort with knackered rear suspension When is a Rover 3500 not a Rover 3500? When it's a Pencil Eater Princess Anne edition This Whizzwheels Camper is absolutely lovely DS is one of the very first Corgi Juniors, with the Husky name removed from the base Kidco Burnin' Key Car Glow test! Customised Lone Star Taunus - the version I wanted to use when I did mine, with the full complement of opening bits ERTL 'vette Krazy Wheels Zylmex Super Kings Capri in a colour scheme I'd not found before, KP1 version maybe? Got this Prelude for £3 as I thought one of you lot would want it Dinky Silver Cloud III is pretty good except for a slightly hinky bonnet hinge Just sold my Siku Hannomag, so I thought I'd buy another in a different colour It had something like a jelly sweet jammed in the base which has caused a bit of corrosion VW nemesis did redeem himself by giving me several Lucky Toys he'd bought in a job lot, starting with the Matchbox Ford Pick-Up copy The Corgi Range Rover copy And this, which looks familiar but I can't actually say if it's a copy of anything AndyW201, FakeConcern, danthecapriman and 4 others 7
bunglebus Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Moving onto boxed stuff, this one piqued my interest Despite saying A Laurie Toy on the box, inside is another Lucky It's complete with the doohickey to fire it, but it feels so fragile I daren't test it! Bought this on Facebook, yet another iteration of the F&F Escort This was at the toy fair, quite a fun take on the Transformers Bumblebee An online purchase I'd really like to find the 32 Ford and Samba, think they're going to be tricky to track down though! While I was out, the Mrs found a new batch of Hot Wheels twofers, there's this one And the two she got me Pickup looks familiar Looks exactly the same as the previous release, bar the wheels FakeConcern, andrew e, Split_Pin and 3 others 6

Count yourself Lucky! I thought I had one of those Honk Kong plastic De Tomaso Mangusta (Thomson Mongoose in @Datsuncog-ese) back here, but no, it is a different moulding This one measures to approx 1:34, so larger than the Corgi and Dinky efforts. I wonder what scale your Doohicky one is Despite being a Honk Kong, it states the mode name in French: MANGOUSTE DE TOMASO But they forgot to brand it FakeConcern, MiniMinorMk3, bunglebus and 1 other 4

FakeConcern Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 I didn't get any die cast for Christmas, but I got this Spot On Ice Cream Van for Mrs Concern a few Months ago and luckily she was really pleased with it I gave it a bit of a wash and it came up well, particularly the glazing She's happy with the playworn look and even likes it, but it had one headlamp missing which looked a bit crap so as Steve Flowers takes forever I cut a light off of a Lledo van and it looks so much better I also managed to fit in a couple of modelling sessions over the holiday (not THAT kind!) and got a Pilen Volvo/Daf 66 I bought ages ago restored. No A pillars and missing the dash and steering wheel plus front bumper I originally painted it yellow, but as so often I had trouble getting an even finish and had to strip it off again. As I was painting a Corgi Astro Vette in copper metallic, I used it on this as well Front bumper from plasticard Dash also plasticard A pillars were staples as learned from @eddyramrod Pilen has lovely detail cast into it with a grill and badges looking great, shame my painting skill isn't up to it! I decided on a Dutch plate coz Daf. Spottedlaurel, eddyramrod, bunglebus and 9 others 12

bunglebus Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Thanks to a tip off from @155V6, I bought an eBay job lot, mainly for this I'd not found the blue version before, and I've now noticed the lever on the base to operate the headlights is different There were various other Matchbox along for the ride, most will go back on eBay but I might keep the old Tincorner Not so much the Skybusters Nor the Battle Kings that has not seen active duty 155V6, Split_Pin, AndyW201 and 4 others 7

AndyW201 Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Some pre Christmas purchases I dug out of the Merc after giving it a run. To my delight, Entertainer in Tesco had a stock of ACTUAL. NEW. Matchbox for the first time this year. You can guess which one of this mix was missing , but I have a red and a green Fiesta now anyway. As a Merc fanboy, I was happy to find a Pagoda though. Its a lovely thing. I was disappointed to miss out on the white version but I think the gold version is nicer. The Datsun 510 looks nice in this colour scheme too. Loving the new artwork on the 2025 cards too. They also had the new Team Transports on offer too. I was tempted by the Nissan set as shown on here by @Datsuncog, the truck in that is indeed a lovely weighty thing, but in the end, I plumped for this Toyota set. Mainly for that Supra... So, to have a good look at that lovely Supra, I've had to be a complete savage and open it up! I got a bit confused with the 4Runner, thought I already had one but turns out its the Matchbox one I've got. This one looks nice in 'front door on a new-build house' sage green, the Real-Rider rims look good and have some particularly grippy rubber fitted. Great detail on the front, And the rear. Should be a handy tow car going by the TRD logos... Wasnt too keen on the half canopy thing on the trailer, luckily it is detachable. For a small thing, the trailer is fairly weighty and the winch detail is nice. As far as I know, the A70 Supra is a casting that hasnt been seen before. It's a little beauty! Lovely white exterior/burgundy interior combo means it's probably one of the 1989 'White Edition' models. As a premium, the tampo printed details are all nice, All goes to make a nice looking set up. sierraman Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 I wonder if this year they’ll keep up to date with the releases in Poundland? Funny how they’ve managed it but the Entertainer made such an indifferent job of it?
