Darda E30 is ace! Like the Sierra too, what series is is from with the flashing lights?

Posted

Not a lot to write home about today but I shifted a load of junk out of the loft and came home with £200 to spend on some more!

Just got rid of most of my buses, so of course I bought another

A quick search found this, but I'm sure there's more than one series like it20240512_142406.jpg.8c7af266baef7f579ed3fa1f7ea12b38.jpg

Darda cars are another thing I don't really collect, but I do tend to pick them up if I see them.I'll dig my others out sometime.I nearly didn't buy the E30 as everything in the box it came from was £1.00,but I thought it was worth it.The motor even works 😀

Cool. Kidco is the obvious answer but Mira, Impulse, Lido and probably others did spring loaded cars. Anything on the base?

The result of my visit to the fairly quiet toy fair in Ipswich this morning:

IMG_0967.JPG.8113174b1244855b6e2e7518709dc024.JPG

Corgi Transit doesn;t have a tailgate, of course. RAV4 is by High Speed, was only £2. 205, BMW, Suzuki and caravan are by Edocar. Fiat is no-name Chinese, presumably a loose copy of the Matchbox?

IMG_0969.JPG.f54e54fadd1a2113d509190cc383fba7.JPG

Good to get the Majorette TR7 without overly wide wheels.

IMG_0972.JPG.842db22313173791171bd0fcf407880b.JPG

Garage is nice, never heard of Wader before but they still appear to be going in Germany.

IMG_0966.JPG.b704283694ff9c7e1092ed25a0d5942a.JPG

It was the single most expensive thing I bought.

Trawled round Smyths and a few of the big supermarkets, but there was nothing left of interest.

I’ve bailed on the car boot this week after last weeks debacle. Waiting on June for the Doncaster Swapmeet which should be good.

Dagenham exported Mk1 and Mk2 Cortinas but stopped there due to poor sales.  Mk3 or Mk4 were not exported, nor was Taunus TC or TC2. So where did they come from?  Could they have been Argentine Taunus TC3, but that would have been Cortina 80 style?

I ment the matchbox MK4, the MK3 cortina was  sold in north America in 72-3  through mercury dealers  I have the brochure & factory workshop manual for them, I'm in contact with a fella in Canada that has a2.0  4dr.

The 73 ones even had impact absorbing bumpers which where the std ones with a sort of shocker behind them & a filler piece between body & bumper.

I believe they where built in either Germany or the Netherlands, both ohv & ohc engs where fitted Inc smog pumps etc. no 1.3.

The GT had single 7 inch headlights, all had side marker lights, full red rear lights with rev lights in rear valance.

There are a couple of UK ones that have managed to get them a mate has them on his estate.

As a side note some of the early pintos had the 1.6 ohv as well as the 2.0 ohc (pinto) .

I know of one privately imported MK4 in America. No mk5's.

The boot fair started today, but the queue went right down the dual carriageway so we gave it a swerve and went straight on to the toy fair

First up all this massive pile of old shite was 50 each so I picked up pretty much everything vaguely interesting. @eddyramrodis interested in a few of them, but some may be available later. @flat4alfado you want the red Joal Mercedes 230SL missing door and some other bits to go with your Tekno ones? Same casting I believe.

IMG_9403.JPG.486f3786e070d47a90c3d07fc706614a.JPG

The MB Kingsize rozzer Gran Fury looks great with the patina!

IMG_9404.JPG.912e5a7bba57dc1a16efe841aa3ed817.JPG

The later Corgi RR Shadow is huge and pretty decent condition, no idea why it was in the 50p box, here it is with the older Corgis

IMG_9406.JPG.25e979bd8ffe2d6a58e1b2e07b9d9f02.JPG

These two £2 for both, I like the Fox body Mustang and quite fancied one and also like Volvos so why not?

IMG_9407.JPG.02c3c82231d1ccbdf28442049c8588a4.JPG

This Solido 1/25 Ovlov knocked down from £8 to pretty reasonable £5, it is missing one back light and the mirrors. I like it but will part with it if you want it.

IMG_9408.JPG.9fd0ba4f001c29e07513b06e0be2b3d8.JPG

Next Mrs Concern spotted this for £15

IMG_9409.JPG.f4ef1be91216a867a5e76d32c1221bad.JPG

Yes please I thought, but the deal kind of morphed into all these for £25, not sure how

IMG_9410.JPG.b3ac4bb95a0cd17f920196cb23261120.JPG

Mrs Concern was going to buy a MIB Vanguards Ford 100E and I haggled to get this strange broken Opel Monza as well for £10, unfortunately she pulled on the deal and I ended up with the Opez for an exorbitant £3!

IMG_9411.JPG.f82f12c39decdb17a08c189b1a19bf55.JPG

Does anyone have any idea what it is?

IMG_9412.JPG.1c80e685025b36d698333e9b62912074.JPG

Lastly one of the 50p sellers also had two Corgi VW Safaris  and I got the best one for £5 whic is ok

IMG_9413.JPG.8fad5427f1963142a1aa24ad1d11a1b9.JPG

I've wanted one since I saw one in a toy shop window 59 years ago, but when my parents went to get one for my birthday, they only had the police version which is what I got. I believe @bunglebusnow has it

IMG_9414.JPG.926e2329f7dfd244933a1ab01e8c5e82.JPG

I'm really pleased with it and don't even want the rhino haha!

@Spottedlaurel love the garages! I'll have to look out for some of them now...

I’m having a bit of a clear out and have decided to let this go, happy to set up a roffle if anyone’s interested?

It’s a fairly big item, bigger than the pics make out.

Looking at eBay sold listings, just the truck, unboxed seems to be selling for £60+, I have the truck, with cars and originally packaging..

Any thoughts on value? Couple of quid a ticket?

Funnily enough I was just looking at the Monza and coming to the conclusion that it was either a Yank or Ausie GM offering. Any idea about the make of the toy?

Eddy has passed on both now so PM me or wait until tomorrow when I'll get better pics of both. I have no idea what make the gold Crown Vic/Caprice is as there's nothing on the base not even the model or make of car!
