I own a blue and silver Corgi Mazda B1600, which has never, to my knowledge, had a tailgate.

Can anybody tell me whether that could be because it was originally part of this set?:

CorgiCamper.thumb.jpeg.0e2ab8ddc31bc215c30dc85faa2919d4.jpeg

The one on the box art doesn't appear to have a tailgate, either.

I had one of those that had the Hulk in a cage in the rear, i don't think it had a tailgate either

I didn't find anything I wanted to buy.

Yeah right

There were two really nice Dinky Jersey Interceptors available in the £15-17 range. Lovely as they were, I'm quite happy paying a third of that for this one which I believe was a kit - no paint anywhere except that brushed-on blue

A recent post about the Corgi Mini Cooper may have influenced me in laying out 50p for this sad refugee - has the Austin front by the look of it

20221016_140730.thumb.jpg.621b82262acdef01cc7861f548d211ce.jpg

Grabbed a handful of Matchbox including this Jeep

20221016_140705.thumb.jpg.dc3a461383c0d3018e097f133689b8df.jpg

And a hookless but otherwise very nice Toe Joe

The same seller had some decent Majorettes, frustratingly the guy next to me swiped a Siku Kadett just as I spotted it, and was eyeing up the Renault taxi - didn't want to swap it though

Should this Husky have glazing? Seems unmolested otherwise

20221016_135736.thumb.jpg.ae78f046d4ddc8c5107ac06f895dc731.jpg

The usual Corgi Volvo - sadly not purple

20221016_135644.thumb.jpg.30984b618f92a57f7e6439bdab7a5882.jpg

I already have one but couldn't resist

20221016_135540.thumb.jpg.f012c4f7084b61a29fea415abdd3a57b.jpg

This was a nice 50p find too

20221016_135451.thumb.jpg.6e13cb3cc6839afc83135f6792380669.jpg

Along with a tidy Siku T4 for the same

Matchbox Fiat seems to be quite sought-after

20221016_135303.thumb.jpg.dd391e312d95c459a277e375e3fa4a10.jpg

I don't often buy loose Hot Wheels but this Super Chrome appealed

20221016_135204.thumb.jpg.8bfed7aba5359d322386259781b83d8c.jpg

Even found a few still on cards

Talking of things still in their original packaging, I'm becoming more and more temped when I see something I like, so despise merciless mocking from my accomplice, I bought this

20221016_134050.thumb.jpg.2e87ba918327b1ebbe2ebfa2e94e0efb.jpg20221016_134321.thumb.jpg.11c039ca9f90dc71ff30165d912b73d0.jpg

It was not the only boxed car that fell into my bag either

20221016_133940.thumb.jpg.c4ef58167f5e2454fe875e484e89447c.jpg20221016_133820.thumb.jpg.e5b8b63081d5033a99a87a7cdaf58fa6.jpg20221016_134457.thumb.jpg.aecc4676a5b285d9afc66568c1078c18.jpg20221016_133416.thumb.jpg.e00e120f478c4ad855f0fcfd34bcb7ea.jpg20221016_133628.thumb.jpg.dc584e118a5ea9aee64342c519641d8f.jpg

The Guisval is wonderfully odd, the Jag was just £1 and the Saab was still way less than loose ones sell for. I'm always picking up tatty Corgi Sierras so I thought it time I had some great ones.

The Jag box had been taped but had come open - rude not to take a few pics of it released

20221016_133505.thumb.jpg.98901d511e3b56404e4acd37dbbf2390.jpg

Scooped this Bburago out of a £1 box mainly to flog on

20221016_133008.thumb.jpg.0e6680dd837a6acee622536b4f4c7ef0.jpg

Lastly, this.

20221016_132737.thumb.jpg.e87dab0c309945144468dc2a44a5e80e.jpg

It's a plastic Marx MG 1100, so unusual it piqued my interest - but there's a problem

20221016_132728.thumb.jpg.e764863ab155d3b9f401fd3dac3fb86f.jpg

It's either glued or friction welded together, so I don't know what the prospects of improving it are...

Chrome tailgate on the gold Hulk version - two different shades of gold to find plus different colour cages for the Hulk...

So maybe the Maisto VW "Champer", might be a variation I haven't got - I mean it can only be 50p or £1?

To improve the roof on the MG 1100 try a bit of hot water from a kettle to soften it and gentle lever it up with something like a butter knife.

BTW, your Mini is the Morris version.

I've tried boiling water and my pretty hot hairdryer - nothing. I may get brave and try the hot air gun when I can dig it out, I reckon it's sat under a bulb for a long time to end up like that

Do love seeing a stall with a load of boxed Corgi 1:36, second only to MIB '70s Superfast. One or two nice Majorettes there too

Unfortunately I'm away next weekend when there's a fair on in Ipswich. Maybe next time.....

Considering we are meant to be experiencing a cost of living crisis I cannot win anything on ebay - always somebody willing to pay more.

Should have added this to my last post, I did manage a purchase today:

IMG_3255.thumb.JPG.5ac6cf77eb3335726c1094d1db0fcc63.JPG

Went to a local Japanese car show. There was a chap selling off his collection of HW, MBX and a few other nice Japanese diecasts. I restrained myself as much as possible but did end up with this little selection.

Also got a couple of kits in the week:

Maybe not my usual taste, but it looks like it would go together very nicely.

This looks well-proportioned and nicely detailed, certainly better than I'd expected of an old AMT kit. I have a vague recollection of a Golf project car put together by one of the magazines, maybe Street Machine, back in the very early '80s. If I'm right it was a metallic green with a padded vinyl top and opera windows - that's the sort of thing I have in mind....

As I've just experienced (yet again) this very day!  I've been watching a 1/18 Bullitt Mustang, and just about decided not to bid as it's already the wrong side of £40 and I can't justify that, even to myself.  So this afternoon, what did I find?  Another one, finishing in 20 minutes, and only-just over £40.  So I put in a bid; if nobody else did it would be mine for £41 plus post.  Of course with seconds to go somebody did.  Bummer.  I'm not going for the other one (finishing tomorrow) because by the time I've outbid the current leader and paid postage, I'll be up near £60.  NFW.  There's a fair on at Haydock Park in November.  I've arranged to meet up with my sister there, let's see what bargains I can find there (lol).

You remember correctly sir!  It was built for Steve Saunders, one of their photographers, with mk2 Granada rear lights which reduced the number plate aperture significantly.  In fact Steve's SCS 1 plate fitted the space neatly.  The opera windows were tall, narrow and inclined forwards, predating the Sierra XR4i.

I had no idea the kit had filled-in rear windows; surely it's now crying out for a distressed appearance and Republic of Ireland plates as seen on dozens of farms around Dublin?

Now I remember!
