Right, new to all this scanning malarkey so don't shoot the messenger please. Today I accomplished something of a previously planned shite mission, covertly, and undercoverly, sneaking into a new car showroom to bring you these...

Does that say Union Blue?

Indeed it does but surely it should be red?

I'm impressed that they have something other than the silver-black range of colours most manufacturers seem to have for the last 6 years......good on the Chinese I say

What a coincidence i was just looking at these on the internet last night at a garage in Newcastle for £15k, might have a wander down and have a proper look in the flesh, bet they loose money worse than big citroens though.

My thoughts exactly!

Not to belittle your mission impossible style brochure heist but you know you can download this stuff from their website, right? :P

I was behind a black one leaving Asda this morning.

It was so unassuming it took me a while to realise it was an MG.

Or alternatively, for the VW worshippers......

Do Sniffpetrol actually like these, or am I missing some kind of ironic joke here?

Anyway, heres one for GM lovers....thats YOU Billy...

I think it looks a cracking car, lets hope its well built and reliable aswell

I do hope the've improved the reliability of that 1.8 Turbo engine. As discussed in the Rover 75 thread, they are like a dose of the clap as far as the trade are concerned.

Top undercover shite-work sir!

The marketing makes them look well, not bad actually.

I believe Mr Sniff is a huge Firm fan. I also believe MSG's marketing campaign is PISS POOR alas, the only customers for them appear to have been kidnapped from Dignitas.

These are from MG's own PR team...

They had to keep the car covered in order to minimise the possibility of a last-minute change of mind.

This photo was taken at the local Black Country MG dealers Summit Garage of Lower (don't mention the pig on the wall  ) Gornal, who are also the local dealers for Perodua 8) An ideal combination for the more affluent two-car family?

I just LOLLED my tits off at those MG ads and when I started telling the Mr's about them she told me to shut up as she wasn't interested. Miserable bag!

Impressive trousers! Just out of shot is the old boy's shed of a Montego Countryman full of spares taken in part-ex...

I saw one of these in rush hour yesterday and had to do a reg check on my phone to find out what the hell it was. It's like an Insignia has shagged a Proton Gen 2. Doesn't look half bad at all to be honest!

Looks pretty sharp but can't see that I'd choose one of these over a well established brand from Korea...

Perhaps in 2 years time when it's worth £1500 I might give one a try

I like that MG6. Yeah it's probably no better built than a Fiat, but it's not a Silver Mondeo and on that, I'm in.

Went past a MG dealer in Loughborough not long back, gave it a bit of a WTF? as I didn't realise they'd got to the point of setting up a dealer network. Honestly thought the plans to revive the name would amount to nothing. I'm a bit worried about their advertising though, they're pushing features such as "McPherson Strut Suspension" and "Halogen Headlights" that pretty much every car right down to a Perodua Nippa has. Are they that bad spec?

Posted

I'd have one of these just off the back of their shite credentials, which are super strong I reckon. Plus its a car with an interesting 'heritage' innit, I like that.

Their marketing efforts are laughable, just adds to the appeal for me though.

Posted

Why have they all got Ipswich plates? Pre-registration, to massage the sales figures? Long way from B31, where they're (ahem...) 'built'.

Just like all those Renaults with HV/HX/HY Portsmouth numbers... :?
