Can't wait to see them do daft shit like getting the normal type rims off that 635 and replacing them with metric rims. Completely moronic thing to do.

The cars that they have done over are for sale on one of their web sites, probably Mike Brewer's. I heard that on the early series the selling bit was a sham as crew members and friends posed as buyers

There's been a smidgeon of 'anti Wheeler Dealers' on here previously but I love the show. Sure MB is a bit cocky but it sort of helps make the show and that Ed fella is damned good at fixing stuff up.

I don't care what bollocks they get up to the mechanical part is interesting and the selling bit is entertaining (if not a bit ham at times).

Don't get me wrong, I like the show, but it would just be better without MB in it full stop. Ed is fine and seems to know his stuff. The cars are generally interesting as well. Just Mike Brewer........

TRX tyres are ace! They're just horrifically expensive.

If I ever ended up like Wowbagger I would make it my eternal mission to slap very hard anyone and everyone on earth who took the TRX rims off Mk2 Granada injections and replaced them with 14"s. Fitting 14"s utterly ruins the way they drive and handle, they were designed for TRX's and should be on them.

And they look shite on 14"s.

lol......It's better than some things on the tv, which to be honest isn't difficult because it's mostly drivel.

Cut and paste from Mikes website ()

About Mike Brewer

Ex -Car trader Mike Brewer has spent most of his 43 years selling thousands of motor vehicles and is perhaps best known as the star of Channel 4’s second-hand car show Deals On Wheels and the top-rated motoring programme Driven.

The baby of six, Mike had a South London upbringing* and eventually the family settled down in Surrey where, during school holidays, you could hear Mike shouting as he was selling fruit ‘n’ veg on a stall. Mike got into the motor trade in his late teens and quickly built a reputation for being sharp and honest, Mike set up and ran the biggest 4×4 centre in the south of England importing cars from around the globe. Mike embarked on his television career through pure luck. He answered a friend’s telephone and discovered he was talking to a television producer. A long chat and a few anecdotes ensued and he was hired for the first series of Deals On Wheels. His success in this role led him into the presenter’s position on Driven.

2003 Mike presented the final series of Driven for Ch 4 (over 100 episodes in total) but also branched out and recorded several other programmes for the Discovery Channel and ITV.

Mike was seen presenting several specials including Driven at Le Mans. As well as The British Rally Championships for Ch 4 Sports and now Sky sports, at all the meetings around the country for the sixth year running, and has been re-commissioned for 2008.

Mike had so much fun fronting a series about celebrities and their gadgets, called He’s Gotta Have It, For Discovery channel as well as a new 10 part motoring series called ‘Wheeler Dealers’ which had massive success for discovery and has been re-commissioned for a fifth series, aired to run in the Autumn 2008.

Mike has also had his own format commissioned. Called Remote Madness it will be shown on the Discovery Channel in 2003. It’s a game show that’s made up of radio-controlled craft racing each other over obstacles.

Mike was also thrilled to be asked to present Channel Four’s flagship programme about overcoming disability in Britain called Celebrity Wheelchair Challenge. Mike oversaw Gaby Roslin, Tanya Strecker and Sean Hughes to travel from Edinburgh to London in a wheelchair. This was a pioneering show, which attracted huge ratings for Channel Four, and it was a departure from the type of programme he normally presents.

2004 was a busy year for Mike with Wheeler Dealer’s, British Rally, a new house Building programme ‘House Race’ for ITV1 Central, and his own Motoring programme for ITV1 national, called ‘Wrecks to Riches’ that was aired this spring. ITV1 also commissioned Mike to front up another motoring series called ‘Revved-Up’ for transmission autumn 2004.

*Nah, reeeely? I fort e woz from Norwich

I'm not having a go really, he's a geezer and it makes a change to see someone like him on tv rather than that arsehole clarksOn

Don't know how much TRXs cost, but they can't be cheap.I sold two on Granada alloys, both with about 6-7mm tread but one had a puncture. They went for £92.00 :o , & the buyer was very happy.

New TRX tyres were about £230 when I looked for my saab. Tried selling the old wheel with decent tyres but no one wanted them!

Mike Brewer and Edd China of Wheeler Dealers And Me by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr

Me and my old mates Edd and Mike!, I met them last year at the NEC and they both seem like a really nice pair of down to earth of guys, Honestly in the interviews with the ordnance they both come across as real nice blokes and totally different to how they appear on TV especially Mike.

Did you know nearly every scene is filmed 5-6 times, Edd or Paul will do the job then have to disable it all again so they can film it again and again and many things aren't filmed are added at the end like servicing or mots every though they carry it out to every car.

I was following this new series on facebook and looking at some of the photos of the cars that Mike's bought and we're in for a treat, he even bought a DeLorean DMC-12. :?

That's it's current average, which is not good, but it's been all urban for the last couple of weeks.

I remember and old Top Gear where Jeremy Clarkson drives a 4.6HSE around town for a couple of hours and works out the fuel consumption. 9MPG!

I would love to have their budget when they do these things.

I do enjoy it but I wish they would repair stuff more often than simply rip it out and replace it.

Just been looking at trigger's pic further up in this thread... is Mike Brewer turning into Cartman from South Park?

Full day of off-roading in Fife, then hoofing it back to Aberdeen to get changed and on to a dinner appointment in the shire.

10.1mpg!

The replacement diesel p38 was a little better on fuel.

That's *average* mpg? Is it knocking around or on a very long run?

I would love a V8 petrol Rangie but the fuel costs would mean i could only use it for about 3 days a month:lol: :)

I might watch that later on tonight if its quiet.

I enjoyed the eposide, how good did that Charger sound when it was pulled of the trailer and left a pair of the"elevens" up the road!

And the £20000 selling price didn't seem that bad for a change neither.

I've just looked at my photo above as well, I'm 5ft 11 and look how high Edd towers above me!

He didn't look terribly comfortable folding himself into that Mini in series one. And couldn't even drive that Lotus they did.
