I think it's a post-'86 facelift version.  There's too much black plastic and not enough chrome for it to be a genuine '83 car in my opinion...

Yep, first registered 1989 according to DVLA.

I think from back in the days when you could choose your plate from a list at the dealers.

Possibly, possibly not. In the later years of the prefix series DVLA started holding back more and more combinations, not just the round hundreds and triples etc. So there might not actually be that many V328 marks issued.

Interesting, it has been on the car since it was new (it's my car) but maybe the purchaser at the time was just a private plate kinda person.

Stolen off of the Facebook, bet this guy could buy a new Yaris by selling his plate to someone with a GR.

Apparently it's the diesel for the ultimate mismatch of mingebag car / $$$$ plate

Not sure if intentional or just a happy coincidence, but P940 LNF is a Volvo 940.

I knew a lad who had P106PWR on a Peugeot 106, always did like that plate.

Spotted this one on Facebook.

As the poster said, it is what it is.

I, along with thousands of other nosy people went to Nick Mason's gaff on the weekend.  He is probably the thread winner for model related plates.

Apologied for pictures, but here are the plates.  250 GTO on a 250 GTO, 250 WMM on a 250 MM, obligatory F40 NPG on an F40 and

XKD 1 on a D type Jaaag amongst others.
