This would be ideal for doing crazy tricks in with mates like bumping into each other, putting condoms over the exhaust pipe and sticking a dead fish on top of the engine LOL!

Tried loosening the screws on the wiper and indicator stalks, then selling it as a flappy paddle gearshift version?

Alright shiters,

this Cav is still sat here and has not even generated a single phone call of any sort. Anyway i'm widening my scope, now i'm open to swapping it for some old shite heap - got to be interesting like, can be a project or not. Maybe someone wants to swap an old crock off their driveway for a usable car. LMK if you have any ideas or want to swap an oddball shitter for some usable wheelz.

Had a feller round to look at the Chavalier tonight. The intermittent tap from the top end has become distinctly un-intermittent and now makes the engine sound shit. Lord knows whats up with it but its clearly still got some engine problem or other.

I cant be arsed with it anymore as I have bigger 'shite fish' to fry so if someone wants to give me £225 for it they can gladly take it out of my life. I'm sure its worth getting on for £200 or so in scrap. I'm about to update my eBay ad to that effect. Its MOT'd till march next year. If its still here in a fortnight i'm weighing the bastard in.

Gotta say im really surprised that the cavalier hasn't sold yet. Seen all the picture's over on RR of the work Mr Bo11ox you have done to it. An it's in

far better nick than my 1993 L reg 1.8 LS hatch i've got before you repaired it. I've had mine nearly 3 yrs an 35,000 mile's an i've got be honest it's

not the best car in the world i.e handling spring's to mind but i wouldn't change it. Mine was off the road for 8 mths last year after it failed it's mot

as it had to have sum major welding an to be honest it wasn't worth repairing but i can't explain it but it just seam's the car has the will to want to

keep going. An i couldn't bear the thought of having to break it / scrap it.

So luckly as i had a friend who is good at fixing cars unlike me he did the work on an off to get it back on the road. An im glad i did it's a great all

round car an get a lot of people complementing on it an talking about what good car's they are. :)

I'd have this myself but been unemployed an a lack of spare cash rule's me out. I sound like a stereotypical cavalier owner ! Really hope somebody

can find it a good home look's too good for the weighbridge / banger racing track like where a lot of these have ended up.

It does sound like it maybe a bit 'valve-ish'. In the middle of a big clear out here and supposedly cutting down on tat but if (fairly big 'if') I can find the room and the time I'd be interested in this as I reckon my son could fix it and it'd be a nice old bus to plonk around in.

That's shitty news b0ll0x. I hope it doesn't get weighed in after all that effort.

Thats a bummer. Shame after all that work, but I suppose these cars are at their lowest ebb at the mo. Not old enough to be intersting and not new enough to be desireable.

Its taken less than 10 minutes for my eBay winner of this car to confirm that 'his son bid on it' and that he would not be buying. I guess that was sort of inevitable really. Cheers eBay!

the winning bid was only £205 anyway. I suspect that once the eBay fees are deducted, Garratts Metals will offer a deal competitive with that.

Its gonna be a real shame to see this cubed. All that MOT too!

Looking at the half-hidden bidding history you get on eBay motors, it would appear his "son" also bid for a Citroen and Isuzu in the same time period. Wonder if he's been lucky enough to win one of those? Tosser.

I hate ebay tossers that do this. Ebay should force them to give you your listing fee's back or let you kick them in the balls square go else they suspend their ebay account.

You should buy it cortinadave, it'd be a shame to see it squished.

Once reported as a non-paying bidder eBay should refund your listing and final value fees. They did for me at any rate.

Also they should be able to see that said bidder has been doing some random shite bidding.

They only refund your final value fee, you dont get the listing fee back. However if you re-list and get a successful sale, you only pay one listing fee. These scamming wankers are good news for eBays bottom line becase if they fuck up your sale, you have to decide whether to take the £8 loss on the chin or gamble paying another £20 to get a successful sale and 'recoup' the £8. Its a fucking mega rip.

Bit of a stay of execution for this old crock. I went down to garratts metals the other day to see what I could get for it, but it was shut. So today I decided to investigate the noise, which was sounding bloody awful. After some arsing about with a stethoscope I decided it was coming from the cambelt area, so I took that lot to bits again. I couldnt see a lot wrong ecxept that the belt didnt seem to sit 100% square on the tensioner, and there was a groove in the back of the cover where it had been rubbing the pulley.

I just took it to bits then put it back together again with a washer under the head of the tensioner bolt so that the cover would touch that instead of the pulley. Nipped it all up again and fired it up. Now it sounds champion again! I cant see that that would cause that hideous clacking noise but whatever it was it seems to have STFU. It was defo something to do with the cambelt anyway.

Now its parked up again awaitingg some sort of development in the story.

Nice one Mr Bol. Better luck finding a buyer this time and well done for getting a Leyland Lynx in the background of that last shot. Ultimate shite bus.

How much does that put the price up to now B0l?

Posted

Your guess is as good as mine cavette! If you fancy taking it on PM me an offer, somewhere between 225 (asking price with potentially knackered engine) and 500 or so (asking price when all up and running). All efforts to sell it so far have achieved the square root of jack shit, apart from costing me £25 in fruitless eBay fees and a bit of time while a slovakian tyre kicker looked it over ("NO CHEAP?") so bear that in mind.
