So do I, but it’s changed the Fiat to a Toyota!

The AI must be aware that Japanese cars are more reliable than Italian ones..... and people say it's not really intelligent.

It’s actually nothing to do with the Rancho…

The original image for reference…

How peculiar, it's turned the Seicento into a Yaris! It did a good job though and not having been there I naturally assumed there really was a Yaris parked next to it.

I only noticed after I’d used it, and couldn’t understand why on earth it would do that 😂

I saw him eat food so I'm fairly confident he isn't 🤔

What a great day, didn't make it in the 45 for reasons that will become apparent when I update my thread. However great to see the cars, missed Dez which was a shame as wanted to talk some ado16 but eh ho. Made it back to Yorkshire in good time..

My first Rustival, what a fantastic show. Never been to a more diverse event in terms of both cars and people!

A great day out, thanks to all those involved. Did walk past the AS stand but I was trying to get round everything in the time I had so not much opportunity to chat. I did see @LightBulbFun cruise in and was going to say hi, but he seemed to be fighting off fans all day.

Was that @Schaefft on stage picking up an award for the Cadillac? Congrats!

Special mention to the Citroen BXs. Don't think I've ever seen more in one place and I went to school virtually next door to a Citroen dealers in the 80s and 90s.

Car of the show for me had to be the Rancho though, great to see one again and especially in such amazing condition!

I'm still not sure which category exactly I won my award in but hey!😂

Think it was the Mat Furious Driving Award?

No AI was used!

Out of interest. What do you use to create your cover images? Thats where I used the AI image generator, and it’s altered it so much it’s a bit crap!

I took some photos on the day and uploaded them to Canva. It has lots of template files that you can use but for that one I just did it from scratch (4 photos, one logo and text). I use the free version of Canva and it works fine for me. Before I started using it I used to create my thumbnails in PowerPoint, you can export the page as an image.

Glad everyone had a good time, it looks like it was fabulous. I really wanted to go but, despite the green light from Mrs W, I couldn’t really justify the expense, given current circumstances. Loving everyone’s photos though and will check out some of the YouTube footage.

I’m hoping the Basingstoke Festival of Transport enjoys good weather this year and I will have to make do with that. @Peter C and I had a good time at it last year and maybe he can come again and some more local shiters also could meet up this year.

I'm going with my son. The following weekend we're back at the British Motor Museum again for VauxALL. A busy couple of weekends.

Rare and On The Road can go and fuck itself. It's Facebook's thickest collection of sad sacks.

its pretty funny seeing how many experts are out there with such detailed knowledge of the Invacar performance figures and rules of the road

Well, I’ve just about recovered - I think that was the hardest 200 miles I’ve driven probably ever - it took us about 4 hours each way, with several stops to re-latch the bonnet, and tea, lots of tea!

speed on the trip was about 35 - 40 on the flat, slightly dependant on the charge rate and how many lights were working as I was trying to regulate the charge rate manually

it really was a nice relaxed show, we spent ages walking around an lost track of time.

It was and it wasn’t - I’d probably do it again. Theres some things I need to sort out that kept the speed low such as the charging, and a slight* driveline vibration.

on the plus side it did 21 mpg!

That is some journey to undertake. My friend with the 1925 Asutin 12/4 (shortstroke) now only drives within the confines of the South Hams. The problem is his best top speed is 35/40.  Well done!

There were some awards at the end. Does anyone know what award the red Mk1 Escort 1100 won? I'd like to add that detail to the report for my Classic Car club.

I've just landed home, having made a long weekend of it. Pre-meet on the Friday, Rustival on Saturday, Longships and Octagons on Sunday and a tour of the Mini production line at Cowley today on the way home. Absolutely knackered now, but 550 miles exactly swallowed by the 620ti with ease. Averaged 36mpg which I think is pretty damn good

Now I've got hundreds of photos to sort through 😅

Definitely one of the best car shows I've been to, and a very enjoyable weekend. Hopefully next time I'll be able to catch more of you lot and I'll be less absorbed by the museum :)

I think it was the museum’s car of the show.

That's always the problem, there isn't enough time for both! This was my 2nd rustival and being on my own meant I spent more time outside this year (and actually got around all the show parking, didn't do that last year because we spent so long inside!)

I was back and forth to the main building for the toilet and the cheaper* food from the museum cafe so dived off here and there for the bits I wanted to see again from last time but otherwise stuck to the show. Which meant I missed meeting a fair few shiters as I was awol usually when they showed up 🤷
