On the last leg now. Yes, we are going to Bradford to buy a very cheap complex car. Wish me luck!

My god, you really have gone maximum liability. Photo of some dodgy import against a block work wall in a multi storey car park for absolute peak danger

Good luck with Bradford!

I really hope you're not buying a Ford from a man called Brad.

Not quite but the engine in this was certainly available in various JLR products, including the Range Rover Sport.

Arriving in Leeds soon. One short train ride from there and we'll arrive at our destination.

Hmm, Citroen C6 or a Jag then?

My guess is a Bentley Continental. Scarily expensive to maintain and tax, but quite cheap now.

728 in triple brown.

Everybody who said Citroen C6, congratulations for seeing through me so easily! It's not just any C6 though, it's the cheapest C6 in the country, apparently with a *small* coolant leak, a dead battery and currently no V5 to be found lol.

A dead battery on a C6 is a particularly good sign, I feel. Exceptionally fine purchase! You obviously bought it, no matter what...

No V5 is the figurine on the wedding cake 🤣

No purchase yet, the problem is that I wouldn't be able to pick up the car anytime soon if not today so a v5 and change of ownership would at least give me some security.

I saw one earlier today advertised for £555 that the guy had bought to break? I guess he was swapping all the best bits onto his own car before flogging it on.

I don't suppose it was this one, was it?!

I suppose the next question is, as alluded to earlier, what other fine selection of vehicles does he have?

for that price though given the train fares and the like if he can show you some ID and proof of address and write a receipt might be worth taking a risk without the V5

I had guessed it was one of his C6s but had assumed it was the more expensive one with the private plate not the parts car!  fair play, man 😂

there's a load on Facebook at the moment. Couple of Protons, another C6, a Galant and an Audi 80 with an easy fix* baulked gearbox from memory

Never understood sellers who would offer to sell a car to someone who's obviously travelling some considerable distance without first making bloody sure that the necessary paperwork was in hand.

Problem is that it's showing as untaxed, so a drive home would be a bit risky.  Especially given the potential for a C6 to decide to disintegrate at the side of the road.

It is indeed! I'm not sure if he had the chance to do anything with it, he's got a shite load of chod around here. And this isn't all of it:

I take it you fetched off all of those black number plates as a decent service to the wider motoring community?

Loving the smoll repro AA lanterns 🤭

Interested to see how C6 ownership compares with a fleet of 80s Audis.

Comfort, style, reliability.  Pick 2.

I guess my justification is that usually these cars cannot depreciate any further so therefore wcpgw?

Exactly! Storage issues aside, I’d love to have a similar collection (and the skill set to keep them going). Hope you didn’t take it as a dig, it wasn’t meant as one :)

Congrats on the new ride, C6es are amazing!

Good heavens, he could be the Yorkshire division of Retroshite.

Hope all goes well with the C6.

Was the V5 misplaced?
