I've been involved with launch events in other contexts (but I would say similar scale). 

Obviously, they're great if you get the numbers but if you don't.....

Bloody amazon. Just had an email to say they’re reducing their royalty rate to authors, so (off the top of my head), l will make almost zero royalties on my existing books unless I put the price up. I haven’t set a price for Looking for the real Red Robbo yet.

I would have suggested the car park outside the Cannock car auction place, but sadly that closed down after COVID.

There’s always the nearby Truckers Rest transport cafe!

So I would be very surprised if he doesn't have one or two.

One of my cousins has self-published a series of historical romance novels which evidently sell quite well. I can find out who she uses for printing, sales and distribution if you like.

FWIW I’ve bought two of your books via Amazon, enjoyed them, and felt the print quality was deserving of another couple of quid on the price. 
 

And this next one is different. It’s political history and therefore a different audience. I’d expect to pay ~£15 or more for a paperback by Dominic Sandbrook on 1970s/80s industrial history.

Thank you! I absolutely hate the money side of things. I don’t mind admitting that I probably never get close to covering my costs as I daren’t charge readers too much and I just enjoy the process of researching and writing. I’ll take your kind words into account when pricing this next book.

Sad when these places with all their history disappears with nothing to show but road names no one will care about, but that's life I guess.
